Blue line had different announcements before the E line even opened also the asterisk sound wasn’t on all the lines! The green line was the first line to have automated PA system
Most metro announcements in L.A. are recordings of real people, although I noticed some computer voices showing up in the newer light rail stations. In San Francisco it's a different story. Computers with voices: "An Eight Car Train to San Francisco International Airport is arriving." Maybe that's because of all the tech industries in the Bay Area.
I know that the one who is doing the Spanish has to be Talaya Trigueros. @ the 4:20 mark, she said “…en está parada.” @ the 4:30 mark: “Este es un tren de Metro Purple Line a Union Station.” Also, my friend has recorded the announcements whenever he was riding Metro before moving to Rhode Island over a year ago.
Oops! Thank you for pointing out that type-o at 2:20. Since I plan to do an update on this video whenever the new HR4000 trains go into service (whenever that is), I'll make the correction. As for 15:42, I noticed that the P2000 trains tend to have a more scratchy sound to the PA chime. I don't know if it's due to the audio equipment that Siemens built into it or if it's a maintenance issue (considering that the Nippon Sharyos had much cleaner-sounding PA equipment by comparison and those were older).
Is this Danny Dark? 7:40 Fans know Danny Dark as the voice of Super friends ' Superman and for other Hanna Barbera cartoons (E.g. Sky Commanders, Thundarr the Barbarian)
I hear these almost every day
I’m watching too many of these when I should be asleep. I’ll be dreaming of bus announcements I guess lmao.
One of the sound effects from Windows 98’s Utopia sound set was used for the announcements.
12:25 the original stop requested lives rent free on my head😂
for your safety watch your step while exiting the bus
I actually heard the original one a couple times some months back but now theres a new permanent one i guess
Now it just the first part and a ton of stuff about the transet watch app

Yup. The Green Line pioneered the PA system for the rest of the network
CUSTOMERS 💀 our pa says Please stand behind the yellow line and allow other passengers to exit before boarding

Found this video for the original Stop Request announcement on the city buses. The voice of Danny Trejo: ua-cam.com/video/RfNJKdRkdZE/v-deo.html
The chime sound sounds so worn out and broken at 15:42!
Edit:At 2:20 It's actually 1st and temple not 1st and 10th!

Where does the PA chime come from?
@@wlctransit7593 they always had a crappy PA system the p2000
@@UltimateAzumanger windows 98
@@Lucrativecris the default notify sound sounds the most similar, but it isn't the same. was it maybe a Microsoft Plus! sound pack?
I wish there was a Text to speech for this voice
If I could broaden that, I would say there are several transit voices that I would love to have Text-to-Speech responses for. :)
A line (Blue) (End of the line)
15:30 is my favorite part
