I work as a security guard four days, “graveyard” and I do yards on my days of which are Monday’s Saturday and sundays I like your thinking boss hustling is the key to success! 👌
This guy is doing a really good job. He’s doing every little thing. Now I don’t know where he’s from but 40 dollars for that much trimming is light. It’s kind of insane to weed whack inside flower beds and edges you already did. Think he’s taking it a little to far there. But hey all the power to him if he wants to do all that work
I work 32 hours a week for a state job while cutting 20 yards during the summer. A lot of work but I love it. Made good money too. And no jackass boss either
Marlin Hudspeth Facebook marketplace or local Facebook groups and word of mouth is a good start, get business cards and a cheap website and hand some cards out and leave at businesses. If you have s truck then you could get your business name and phone number in it with a decal especially the back window. You could even call around to real estates and see if they need anyone. Some customers may be regular and thats probably where. The money is made. I’ve had people door knock as well but for me being a female that freaks me out. I would also call some painters and other tradies and network. Just buy a good quality weed slasher, leaf blower and decide on a lawn mower. I prefer battery operated ones so I don’t have to play around with motor oil and petrol. If you want to go bigger a ride on is required. Hope that helps. I just wish my partner would start doing it but he hates the noise when he does it at our house 😂😆
i dont know why its socially acceptable to cut grass in 100 degree weather. if someone sees you cutting grass at night you are considered a freak. but why? why the fuck if it makes cutting the grass 10 times easier.

I make unreal money and love every min. I get to be my own boss. Plus, there is always some cool piece of equipment to buy so I enjoy building the business.

One of my favorite videos. This was the video I watched for 2 years until I decided to start my own side hustle this year. I was always a bit to nervous to try until I said I can do 2 yards after work and if it rains, I'll knock em out the next day after work. Just put out fliers this morning and I'll put them out again here in the next 2 weeks. My goal is 4 lawns. We'll see what happens. Yards in my area are in the $30-$35 range. Your videos are enjoyable and I learn something each time. Good luck with your dump truck channel!

Great Video I do the same have a handful of side mow jobs easy fast cash i do on my days off...made 1000 so far since april....I do yard cleanups in spring and fall as well.
When you get paid $40 per yard does that include the front and the back of the house for that price? What is the approximate sq. footage for that price or how do we determine so we as beginners don't get ripped off and get discouraged? Would you please do a video for beginners on how and what minimum to charge for the extra services like pulling weeds out of flower beds by hand, cutting hedges, leaf removal etc.? I learned a very hard lesson today. Get what you are worth no matter what or pass on the job. Is there a particular order as far as trim, weed eat, blow and go?
Great video Dans! Quick question. . . I see you using the trimmer to go over all areas you edged. Any reasons you do that? Could we just use the mower? thanks.
In many cases you can use the mower, and in many cases you can not. Thick tall edges with low pavement can cause extreme blade angle and burn the edge. Opposite that... very low grass with high pavement would cause an unfinished look. The few minutes it takes to perfect it with a trimmer pays off in my opinion AND allows you to look at every edge and every crack for cleanliness and perfection.
3 plus mine set aside for every Thursday. Rest of my time is to the 9 to 5 and wife's, not in that order. I usually will straighten out the paver stones / brick, pick up litter, and dog shit, we working for free? Thanks for blasting us off towards the New Year! keeps me motivated!
im linked to an app that provides all the details, not bad, but up to me to hit hard the neighboring homes for my own eventually because the company takes a percentage each time. No rush due to the amount of overtime im getting at my 9 to 5, but soon it will be time.
Dan wanted to ask ya. During the winter if your running your own business. Do you still get some type of landscaping job or lawn work? Been researching all day about the lawn business and trying to figure out the down times
Many lawn guys have an agreement with their clients to come clean up 1 time a month during the down time (Nov - Feb). Some simply starve, and others in the north shovel snow.
I'm a 15 year old with a little business in my neighborhood and by the way love your videos but I mow, weed eat, edge, clean up, bushes, for all 20$ well bushes are 2$ a bush and I also do mulching for 10$ a bed am I too cheap and I have about 20-30 yards in the summer (please respond)
I use www.yardbook.com for all my bookkeeping. I billed every cut, most customers paid monthly. Non payers were few and eventually I would drop them. It happens
@Dan's Vlog, here at my place, yard tools are free to use but i still haven't started yet mowing so, how much will i charge them if it's free to use the yard tools? pls reply.
Whatzupp Bruhh If I was going to do a yard and I spent $5000 on my equipment and trailer I would charge $40 to cut the yard. If I was going to do a yard and my friend dropped his truck and trailer off in front of the yard and said here dude use my lawnmower I would charge $40 to do the yard. I hope that answers your question
What city/state are you in that this is a $40 yard? Was that mower a Honda, Troy Built, or something else? Self-propelled? What model number? What would you do if there were a big tree dropping little dead sticks onto the yard and you didn't want it ruining your blade? And would it still be a $40 yard?

I used to work for a lawn mowing company and they would have us edge but also use the weedeater like Dan did in the vid they called it "Top"
You definitely have to do it when you use big commercial equipment because of the way their decks are designed
I love your gear
3 plus mine set aside for every Thursday. Rest of my time is to the 9 to 5 and wife's, not in that order. I usually will straighten out the paver stones / brick, pick up litter, and dog shit, we working for free? Thanks for blasting us off towards the New Year! keeps me motivated!
Heck ya! 3 jobs a week is nice cash for the weekend!
im linked to an app that provides all the details, not bad, but up to me to hit hard the neighboring homes for my own eventually because the company takes a percentage each time. No rush due to the amount of overtime im getting at my 9 to 5, but soon it will be time.
Dan is a Trimmer Ninja!
Some simply starve, and others in the north shovel snow.
great video Dan. for me my walk behind cuts my time on yards in half. however it may be better for me since I have 2 man crews.
What size is your walk behind?
it is a 48in great dane, with a sulky.
Oh heck ya! You can get so much done with that!
That’s really good money.
Ya it is!! 😃
Good Job.
Thank you
What type of edger do you use because it looks like it works great
Thank you, it is the Stihl Km90 Kombi system with straight shaft edger attachment
Thank you so much, keep up the great vids
Thanks Dan what kind of mower did you use for that lawn
Maybe my TroyBilt TB360
Good job keep up the good work

I'm a 15 year old with a little business in my neighborhood and by the way love your videos but I mow, weed eat, edge, clean up, bushes, for all 20$ well bushes are 2$ a bush and I also do mulching for 10$ a bed am I too cheap and I have about 20-30 yards in the summer (please respond)
Try to make at least 25$hr
How do you bill your landscaping clients and what method is used and what's the billing frequency? Any issues with non payers?
YIKES! LOL
I hope that answers your question
did you upsell them a house wash and driveway cleaning Dan?
I usually do her property annually. I will ask in February if she wants it done along with tree trimming and bush trimming
Don't forget to send us the video when you trim her bush.
pathetic
@Valley Girl
the only thing pathetic is your sense of humor
lmao!
I wonder why they don't level off the backyard? At least around the cement.
Beautiful
Thank you
like a boss!

Valley Girl I sure did, thanks to reading your comment before watching video!
I had to watch it like ten times before I saw it! 😂
LOL
LOL
Great job...if you do that kind of work maybe talk them into having you pressure wash that dirty driveway and sidewalk?
Agreed
Excellent video dan great advice
Thank you Sean!
What are some unusual jobs like this ? Which can pay me well ?
Please help
What city/state are you in that this is a $40 yard? Was that mower a Honda, Troy Built, or something else? Self-propelled? What model number? What would you do if there were a big tree dropping little dead sticks onto the yard and you didn't want it ruining your blade? And would it still be a $40 yard?
