That is not what a hype beast is, that is a sneaker head. A hype beast is someone who buys and wears things solely for the hype of the product. If others want it, they want it, regardless of how they feel about the design. They’re more interested in the resell price, than how it looks in their fit.
I agree on everything except the hypebeast answer. A hypebeast isn't just someone who's into fashion, a hypebeast is someone who is always chasing the newest hype. To that person, the fashion/style aspect isn't the most important, it's just about the status of always having the "most desired" piece of footwear or clothing (or other stuff, this can even be applied to non-physical things like activities).
Agreed, it's not that i'm cleaning my sneakers each week (or like he said with a toothbrush) that I'm a hype beast but just someone who cares for something or just being a neat and tidy person.

The Jordan 1 Bred was never banned in the NBA, shows how good the marketing was to this day. The actual shoe that was banned was the Nike Air Ship, with a colorway that looks like the Jordan 1 Bred.
I was going to comment the same. Where do they find these "experts"? 😂😂😂 it was banned because it didn't have enough white on the shoe. Not because of the design.of.the actual shoe. Please next time find someone who knows what he is taking about.
Funny thing about Crocs, in Mike Judge's movie Idiocracy they didn't have a big budget so the costume department had everyone set in the future wearing Crocs, which was a small unknown startup company and cheap at the time of filming, Mike Judge wanted something ridiculous looking and said no one would ever wear them
They have been popular long before now. Talking 30 years. I’ve had and sold my Air Jordan collection(s) three different times since 1996 and the value has always been there. Before digital cameras I would scan the shoes on a scanner to get photos for eBay.
The Jordan 1 wasn't banned for being "too crazy and too ugly"... It was just that MJ was fined $5000 every time he wore the black and red AJ1 because they violated the NBA's uniform regulations at the time. The shoe was fine, it was just the black and red colorway that the NBA had an issue with.
This. Can you imagine Michael face when that Condom was the one shoe got introduced as his name brand? That condom was released ugly, Jordan was released as Jordan and it got popular real quick. Jordan didnt need to wait years to get the hype.
I've never been the type that care about brand or whatever when it comes to fashion, but Jordan's design was so good that it's insanely fit to my taste so much that I don't mind about how much the price was.
Hype and branding is why Jordans are popular. Quality wise they are average at best, Nike also produces the hype collabs in limited quantities thus making the hype of the overall brand even higher as people can't get them.
Oh wow those auto lacing shoes will be awesome for people with certain types of disabilities! Probably out of everyone's price range, but a brilliant invention for adaptable equipment designers to dupe 👍

I'd have to disagree, the Jordan 1,3,4 are probably three of the best looking sneaker silhouettes for casual wear. Can wear them on a date, party, brunch, movies etc.
Even today with so much information at our fingertips, where a person can find the best footwear to fit the individuals "foot" and lifestyle it seems brand, marketing, and price have more influence on choice.
You can take a $5 TShirt and sell it for $500 because it’s sold by Gucci, people pay for name not the actual product, look at the iPhone, it’s a trash phone but people still think it’s the best phone and actually get into debates about it it’s hilarious
I think a lot of these type sneakers are being dumped in favour of using running shoes as a daily wear because of their comfort. I see an awful lot of non runners wearing Brooks Ghost and Adrenaline GTS. ASICS and New Balance are also have shoes this category
I've been wearing nothing but Chuck Taylor's for years. I find them comfortable but I think I've just ruined my feet as everything else feels terrible now.

Chucks are the most comfortable, specially compared to Jordans, the one pair of Jordan 1 lows I have is really more of a boot and only good for fall/winter, too much of a shoe really. You must not like being barefoot.
