Mine is 9 1/2 feet to 4 1/2 feet deep. And about 40 feet long, give or take. So pretty similar size. I had it emptied for maintenance and my dog fell in, she got stuck down the deep end and couldn’t get up the slope. I climbed in to help her out. The slope was just slimy enough that I couldn’t get out either. It was frikkin hilarious! The kids ended up tying a rope off for me so i could mountain climb up to get out. 8 years later and its still a joke around the dining table.
For everybody saying there’s a lake/river behind the house, it’s actually a man made creek built by the development. Definitely not safe to swim in because it’s just stagnant water filled with goose shit.
I wanted to watch the pool being built, but because of my 'attention deficit disorder' I found myself watching the neighborhood over the water go up. That's a very busy housing development! Lol
My dad and i put in the same pool with an extra tanning deck by the stairs....just the two of us..took us about 3 months to finish....makes me feel better watching this and seeing how long it took an actual crew.

I build pools for a living and it was awesome to watch it from this perspective because in the middle of summer it sucks building these the steel panels act like a microwave and since your below the ground you hardly get a breeze and it’s like cooking in a oven you pour sweat and when it comes to trawling in the floor and dropping the liner you have to be so careful because any imperfections in the floor will show thru the liner but I I love dropping the liner putting the liner vacuum on it and cutting in the returns and skimmer because that means your just about done but I have to ask why pump water in and stop then start then stop ? Once the liner is in place and we have it vacuumed to the wall we start filling and then once we get it filled to a certain depth we pull the vac and put the liner in the track and continue filling I was just curious as to why the start and stop start and stop
The water came from a truck, actually 5-6 truck loads of water. So there was some down time in between trips. That’s what causes the start and stop of the water.
Nice pool, easy access to the back yard. I've built pools where the nieghbors fence is 5ft from our customers house and what's worst is when the gas meter is also in the path of the backyard , no other option but to be extremely careful..
@*Drifty * here in California we have to bring a similar machine to the back yard , sometimes building a swimming pool there's option to have an entrance either right or left of the house and between property lines we run across a fence. It can be very narrow Most of the time we have a natural gas meter that's in our path , it's just a foot or less away from the house and can be extremely dangerous if the driver runs into it.
Cool video! It's one of those videos that you start watching it with the intent of only quickly seeing what's going on and then you just have to watch it to the end! I wish i had that kind of money!

Very nice! The only thing that jumps out at me is that there does not seem to be much shallow end. I see a few feet of shallow and then a steep descent into the abyss. A more gradual slope might have been better? Thinking of little children and simply people who want to walk and wade while cooling off. Great pool just the same!
They did this all wrong, you'll be lucky to get one season out of it. Looks like shit too... Just kidding, i'm just jealous. Looks beautiful, great job.
No, you were right on the first idea. First it is not the largest pool that can be constructed, a friend of mine did a 78 x 46 feet one without any problem. Second they build cheapest, no concrete body, no fiberglass, only PVC liner. The pool is level to floor, everything will fall into it, from leafes to small childs. The first flooding of the river nearby will wash all out. The reinforced concrete around the pool will become crackled, it's too long and too shim. The steel walls will rust. The solar cover is broken by the side ladder, they should habe build a niche, and will obviously not do automatically. Most technical items are buried below the liner or concrete, have fun if it fails. It's the pool that one builds if it is his first one. But hey, it's his money, he can do whatever he wants.
flexiblebird You are completely correct. I don’t understand why so many bad decisions were taken in consideration for this. From the “damn, I need to shred all the concrete to replace some stuff” to just a PVC liner. They probably never had to fix anything. I wonder what they will do when the mud floor starts to change shape underneath the PVC liner.
As fun as that idea sounds I'd recommend against it. A friend of mine did exactly that by running out of the 2nd floor window and ended up fracturing a bone in his leg despite the water being over 9' deep
The fact that it took 1 pic every 60 seconds, just imagine how many pics they had to add to turn it into a 8-9 min video that’s quite a lot of pics to add constantly.
One thing I find neat is seeing the grass in the background get greener throughout the video
