A terrible accident which was actually reported also in the UK press. We know those 2 cafes very well and was shocked to hear about it. A donation is on its way and our best wishes to all involved for speedy recoveries.
What an unfortunate accident 😢 Best wishes for a speedy recovery to all those involved and I hope it doesn’t put anyone off from visiting this lovely town. Looking forward to my holiday there is 3 weeks 😊
I was there too... I was in the supermarket at the end of the main street, so about 30 meters from the accident, I didnt see it but heard it, was terrible hearing the car and crashing glass. It happened thursday 31st of August 😔

An awful incident, but as you say seemingly a freak accident. A good advert for why you should always have travel insurance though. I'm surprised that Harriet isn't being looked after by the hire car's insurer, even if she doesn't have her own travel insurance.

They will pay hospital fees but not repatriation.
Me too I was there all I could hear was the air ambulance
I was advised that the driver a Spanish gentleman had suffered a heart attack. I believe he pulled through.
