Thanks for your great efforts against delusional thinking
Yeah the conspiracy theorists who refuse the safe and effective vaccines are deluded.
You mean the people who claimed if you got the jab you couldn't get or pass covid? Those delusionals?
Female here with a similar experience with doctors being dismissive. I had a very long journey also-difference perhaps is that I’m an RN, this added to my frustration. The point is-you should not have to be required to get a college education in molecular biology to figure out how to help yourself. The healthcare profession as a whole needs to do better.
Those with organic neurological disease, or functional neurological disorder, or rare autoimmune conditions often have this very difficult journey. They can be very difficult to diagnose. And often there are few effective treatments, even when diagnosed, so the tendency is for neurologists / doctors to take a wait and see, or adopt a dismissive attitude. FND in particular is very poorly understood, and people left to fend for themselves.
@@calluna5030 I understand this is the case here. I guess I should clarify to some extent-I had to actually go back to further my education in order to find my own answers . I was not dealing with FND.
@@willaherold9027 Same with me. I've still not got a diagnosis, now many years on (and originally started 45 years ago), but the neurologists do agree that I have organic neurological disease, and have admitted that I'll probably never get a name for it. Approximately 10% of organic neurological disease is never given a name (diagnosis). So I've had to do my own study and figure out my own courses of action. But this is the UK and NHS I'm dealing with, and there is a very real shortage of neurologists, and very long waits for even basic tests, that the 'wait and see' is used just to get people off the lists. I gave up bashing my head against the NHS brick wall many moons ago.
We should have patience and grace but I have friends and family with downs syndrome, keukemia, and autoimmune disorders. A workplace or place of worship or anywhere with a disease vector and low vaccine rate can be deadly or at least put us in the hospital or add serious complications to my loved ones.
I live in a relatively small town and most people here would give you the shirt off their backs or their last dollar. But the way we advocate for vaccines is all wrong. Yes it's a prevention, yes it's a precaution, but it's an act of charity. In a functioning society we make sacrifices for the disadvantaged. This is the purpose of being a part of a community, to carry one anothers burdens in e one anothers time of need. At least that's what they used to teach in church.
So how do we balance safety and grace without adding undoo risk, burden, or harm to those who have the most to loose and the least autonomy over the risks they face?
Exactly !!!
She says, with the very absolute certainty that she just criticized, “It’s the DIET!” (While taking medication for her condition)
Wilson correctly points out, “It’s complex.”
The diet may part of the autoimmune problem but not the entire issue. We should be careful not to go from one rabbit hole to another. If we are prone to it, we are prone.
But I do appreciate any effort to get the word out that vaccines are part of a healthy lifestyle.
Wilson has zero idea about diet. I’ve studied diet for over 40 years, written books on it, and I was still wrong for 30. Data Dan is totally aware that these 40 years have culminated in my going fully carnivore for the past eight years, reversing autoimmunity myself and seeing the same thing happen in hundreds of thousands of others.
After Dan interviewed me (read mocked and constantly interrupted me), he tacked a short section on the end of that episode, admitting to Googling for five minutes or less to find info to “debunk” my ideas about diet. Did he really think I’d missed that stuff… 40 years ago? There are so many layers to the onion of deception.
That said a lot about his actual research abilities. He’s not even aware of what humans eat “in the wild” and just takes notice of the big food and big pharma sponsored diet studies.
Humans are the only species intelligent enough to make their own food and stupid enough to eat it. That goes for most medications and jabs too.
When Dan sees how powerful our ancestral diet is at returning humans to optimal health with zero meds, which so many docs are waking up to now, I hope he has the humility to apologise.
He’s younger than my eldest son and doesn’t have much wisdom or life experience yet, just book learning from mainstream sources.
I would argue with him and say, no, diet isn’t complex, but the rest is, including “science”, which isn’t as black and white as he thinks.
@@philescott carnivore 7 years here brother. No looking back. WIlson look's like he's on soy latte diet.
@@philo3479 - Ah, I see that like me, you are another purveyor of useless anecdotes. :)
And yes, Dan does seem to be chumping out a bit lately. I wonder when he’ll realise that the food pyramid and mainstream nutrition “science” is letting him down? Probably after a few more decades of life experience… if the jabs don’t get him first… which before anyone attacks me, I pray they don’t. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. I’ve seen too much misery myself among those who took the harmful armful and I’ve lost friends too. :(
@@philescott Hey! I have lived extremely clean my whole life but spent a large percentage of my 57 years thinking saturated fat is bad and whole grains an oatmeal and the like were the best. Could not figure out why I was starving 2 hours after a giant bowl of oatmeal. Did some digging and had a paradigm shift in my entire eating philosophy. My BMI has always been 19-20, so weight never an issue. There is not one aspect of my health that has not vastly improved off carbs (except occasional raw honey, bee pollen, and blueberries). People like Wilson are married to the entities that funnel the big corporation's agenda to keep people unhealthy for financial gain. He probably believes that crap as well. Some people never escape the matrix brother.
@@philo3479 - Sadly, yes. But you never know! I used to write books on plant based eating, but I had to admit I was wrong. Some of us idiots wake up. :)
I skated dangerously close to anti-vaxx especially with the pandemic, I just feel lucky to have found TWiV in 2021 or I’m sure it would have swallowed me up too. This story is important to make sure we welcome people back from the brink and help understand what actually helps deprogram and pull out of the fog. For me, I was watching JRE who himself slowly descended into bad thinking from people like Bret Weinstein and the solution was simply finding actual scientists in the field to provide me easy to access education
Thank you John for sharing your story. It is important people hear more stories like this as it shows that even smart, rational people can get pulled into these conspiracies, but there needs to be a way out for them or they will dig in deeper to those false beliefs.
I hate anti-vaxxers. Soooo selfish. Imagine refusing the safe and effective vaccines. Conspiracy theorists. Hate them soooo much 🤬
You probably love the peaceful expansion of nato. Only 1 million lives compared to 20 million from project deeee fuuuuse
Sounds like you got pulled into the cult. Joe rogan has been correct throughout most of this pandemic. Unfortunate you got pulled in by the propaganda.
@NathansHVAC you're way to invested in covid. Why is that? You're obviously not trained in anything except nonsense and gossip.
I really enjoyed this convo
just heard your theme music!! love it...great show as always.
...well, doctors have to keep up to speed...and not be swayed by social media info.
Unfortunately too many doctors follow media based medicine rather than keep up with evidence based medicine. E.g. Not wearing masks ; not using air filters in their surgeries ; prescribing antibiotics for Covid or continuing to prescribe steroids in the first week. I could go on!
@@WillNewcomb 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤡🤡🤡
@@philo3479 I have an American friend who was prescribed these. And every week Dr Daniel Griffin on TWIV points out many doctors who are not following best practice and issuing potentially dangerous advice.

I missed this one.😢
There is a UA-cam video called "hot cheerleader hoax". I remember viewing this years ago and thinking "she's making it all up!" As a RN I know what true spasms look like (I also administer fluids to dystonia patients). I'm not sure I buy her naiveté story. You and Vincent were too easy on her.
I'm detecting a tendency here to "choose the correct camp" when they all have real problems and the issues are systemic, not one corporate camp vs another. The basic issue is corporate capitalism.
To find the truth, look for a professional community which is opposed to all the corporate capitalist camps. Currently, that will be a small community which is hard to find.
'cancel culture' stuff aside, this is a good video
"cancel culture" doing something very publicly that makes you look very untrustworthy is going to make one look bad. The public has never been about forgiveness
What's wrong with her cancel culture part of the discussion? She made a mistake, made a 180, researched rigorously and got a degree in the field, and is being punished over and over on Main stream and social media by both sides.. I don't blame her for being frustrated
Cancel culture: I've chosen to cancel a couple of lifetime friends. I didn't want their non-science nonsense broadcast on my Facebook page.
...yep, that will help everything. Just, don't listen to anyone asking questions, or being just slightly concerned. Block them all. Become a complete brick wall. Very professional, and respected.
And when the time comes, and people do the same to you - all will be silent. So much fun.
Gotta say, while I get that there are legit issues with "cancel culture," some of her views on cancel culture are rather like a conspiracy theory.
Also, she should consider doing a bit more research before opining. Problems with conspiracy theories existed way before social media came around.
@@joshuabrooks91yes they were before Social Media but if we could extend some charity to her position Social Media has powerfully weaponized CCs even more
How so?
@@joshuabrooks91 you are correct that conspiracy theories existed before social media, but social media has turbocharged their dissemination and also the impact of so-called cancel culture and ostracization. Jon Ronson and Natalie Wynn (among others) have spoken in interesting ways about "cancel culture" in the social media age
“conspiracy theory” isn’t a serious phrase. as the literature on conspiracy theories insists, countless conspiracy theories prove correct. she is speaking of a specific conspiracy she experienced, she does not present a pathogenic generalized ideation. conspiracies are everywhere & we need to distinguish the plausible & legitimate from absurd & manipulative & paranoid. a broad and abstract concept like “conspiracy theory” is a dangerous distraction from necessary skepticism.
Medical doctor here. Even though most of the times we listen we also have times when we don’t . We need to be cognizant that one of our such days may change some body’s life for the worse . There is a book I recommend “ What patients say what fixture hear”
Well as a doctor I hope you've recieved all of your safe and effective covid vaccines. I have recieved 8 and as a doctor - you have a voice and responsibility to encourage us all to take our vaccines because they are safe and effective and protect our grannies. Heart issues and the neurological disorders are caused by the virus and not the safe and effective vaccines so pease pleeeeese encourage everyone to take their safe and effective medicine to combat that wicked virus floating around in the air. What exactly gave you "bad vibes” Kevin? So you are saying that by being in a vulnerable state and being pulled into conspiracy theories, people should never be allowed to come back from that? They should be cancelled until they earn the right to come back? How does one "earn it"? Does one need to say 10 Hail Mary's and engage in self-flagellation until they "earn it" or until Kevin agrees that the punishment fits the crime? This is my entire point.

After sixteen months the ONS finally released another 5 months data on death by vaccination status from 1st April 2021 till 31st May 2023. Covid deaths amoung the unvaccinated average about 10% of the total number of covid deaths per month among the vaccinated with some months as low as 5%.
If 90% of covid deaths are among the 65% of the population vaccinated against covid while making 10% of covid deaths are among the 35% unvaccinated does this affect the cost benifit ratio of the safe and effective vaccine.
Base rate fallacy. When corrected for that, you see the unvaccinated are still dying at a higher rate than the vaccinated. I know, I know, unwelcome information to those who chose not to get vaccinated...but reality cares little about your beliefs.
"Fitness influencer Larissa Borges, 33, dies following double cardiac arrest."

Honestly, you can't blame people for being suspicious of "influencers" who leap from one side to the other. I'm glad she has apparently "woken up", but remain suspicious. Interesting video.
Hi, Desirée here! So, I never profited off of the anti-vaxx movement OR the pro-vaxx movement. You are the entire reason I did this episode about CANCEL CULTURE. Jesus man, you are the problem!
@@DesireeGTownsend Hi Desiree. I listened to the entire video and if I misunderstood your position it wasn't through not paying attention. I'm not a troll or a "canceller" and I'm certainly NOT the problem, I'm part of the solution: rational, skeptical and a lifelong (vaccinated and educated) science advocate. My comment wasn't worded unkindly, I was playing devil's advocate and used the term "cynical hat" to make it clear that I was proposing an alternative viewpoint that I don't necessarily hold myself but that some might.
Joe.
@@joelonsdale I appreciate your clarification, and I apologize if I misread your initial comment, but I want to make it clear to people that I never made any money off of the anti-vaxx stance. OTHER PEOPLE made money off of me. I am not making any money today either and was actually fired from the biotech company I worked at because of this and still cannot find a full-time job today. I can see why people do not leave the anti-vaxx movement, because now I have anti-vaxxers who hate me and those who are pro-vaccine who don't believe me, and it briefly occurred to me today (not that I would ever do this) that I should have just doubled down on the anti-vaxx stance instead, because at least then I would have people supporting me. That is a dangerous precedence to be setting for people trapped in these movements.
@@joelonsdale I don't know...arrogance and condescension, even (or perhaps especially) from those on the "right side" is part of the problem. Is your goal to help more people overcome misinformation, or just virtue signal and push them further away?
