I was going to like this comment but then I realized I already liked it 2 years ago. So here's another like in a meta sort of way.

Not really? This is what PCG is all about. You guys are just noticing for the first time
@ Oh but it is. PCG is all about reaching into a finite but huge universe of posible outcomes that follow some rule or pattern. Minecraft worlds and their seeds contain every single permutation of blocks that follow a world pattern. Losen up those restrictions on what is an acceptable world and you get this update. Losen them up even more and you'll mostly get solid worlds with random blocks.
Just like the library of Babel restricts it's posible books with finite characters, lines and pages. If you tighten those restrictions to utterances that make gramatical sense in English, the universe of outcomes will get smaller, but more comprehensible
Infinite and extremely large are not the same thing. The amount of different block permutations to comprise Minecraft worlds is very much finite. HUGE, but finite, just like the number of different chess games.
@ Minecraft worlds are only theoretically infinite. There is code in place to make them finite. That's why the lot of posible worlds is finite too. That's also why PCG is implemented using deterministic content constructors and a seed.
The universe of posible content permutations becomes a giant pool of strings of a set length and the result they hatch/unravel into. Sure, this way you loose on a lot of posible outcomes, but if the generating algorithm ensures the created content is always valid, you won't need to create some kind of validating function that gives the OK to every outcome (Which in most cases is computationally imposible, or at least irresponsible)

This is basically the Minecraft corruption stream but Mojang added corruption into the game as a feature.

The only reason I would see to not having it is if that actually increase the loading time,

so anything that doesn't immediately grab him basically gets shoved to the side
The Hoor Isle world is a metaphor, you see? It's all glass and fragile just like chat when Vinny denies one of their favorite animals into his village. The books and libraries is because you have to READ chat and the lava is how heated it can get.

That meat map makes me feel like those end ships were lost in the warp and got stranded in that corrupted dimension.

All the chests with torches around them are the starter chests. It's why their loot is so bad, since they're only meant to help you get started in a survival world.

What a cool update, and the little Easter egg warps are pretty neat, but at the same time it reminds me how annoying April Fools can be when developers put in a genuinely fun and interesting updates only for it to implemented just for the April Fools day gag. At least with Minecraft you can go play older versions.

It will probably impact vanilla as well. And tbh I don't even play mods anymore because most are on 1.12, and the nether update is so cool that I don't think I can bring myself to play anything before 1.16 if I'm doing single player. I heard that mods are supposed to be easier to port over to the newer versions though, not sure how accurate it is

There's some bits of this that are weirdly aesthetically inspiring. An underground of glass, library shelves and pistons, a void of floating pyramids and wispy rain, an eternity of stone spheres, an endless fleet of floating ships...
Vinesauce: a desolate dessert dimension. This is an analogy for something.
Vinny having "Kid A" in the background at the start really had my mind set on Radiohead because I ended up feeling that a lot of these worlds could be blips.
