Speer admitted in a letter shortly before he died that he knew about the extermination of the Jews. And that he regretted nothing - he would do it all again, had he the chance. He was a liar. He was not 'the good Nazi.'
Maybe you should read some books about Albert Speer and read what those authors feel about the book Gitta wrote. Then get back to me. Her book was universally derided.@@radicalcartoons2766
I have read her book about Speer, and the one about Stangl. Very good reads.
Agreed. She had a gift for interviewing and writing about complex individuals.
She very kindly admits that she very much liked Albert Speer and found him to be very honest in his comments.

She seems too elitist to like Stangl, but she is able to minimize Stangl’s evil intent.
@@randyfx Elitist? Hmm. Didn't seem so to me.
"I was very aware that he was more intelligent than I. He was a superior man."
Interesting to hear that she didn’t like Mary Bell.
I live in the United States and I can can sort of understand this idea of Austrian provincials when I think about county sheriffs
she really likes herself so much...
Nonsense. She’s sure of herself and her work, unlike you obviously.
Albert Speer played her like a fiddle.
That's a childish comment. Her book on him is one of the greatest contributions to our understanding of the 3rd Reich.

Not very sympathic, this "lady"...
A study of history shouldn’t be concerned with sympathy. It’s aim should be to absorb as much information as possible. She achieved that.
@@lancejohnson127 May be - but, read the book from jewish author Gerard Menuhin, jr....
