The Beacon NY story as told by Denise VanBuren, president of the Beacon Historical Society

Established in 1976, the Beacon Historical Society located at 61 Leonard Street next to St. Joachim’s Church (one block from the Roundhouse Event Center, and a six minute walk from Beacon’s iconic Dummy Light and the Roundhouse) showcases Beacon’s history through exhibitions, collections, programs, books and an informative monthly newsletter.
Denise Doring VanBuren interviewed here is president of the Beacon Historical Society and an American civil leader and clubwoman. She was the 45th President General of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution from 2019 to 2022.
