Thanks so much for watching we have new video premieres every other Thurs 9pm EST LIVES every other Thurs with Giveaways Opals, T-shirt Opal Addict Gear etc. Hope to see you Thanks again!
Having mined an opal that could be treated, I have been intrigued with seeing the opals actually coming out at the Standish Mine. Vincent Pardieu style taking type samples. I had a standing order for all the hydrophane when we were running the first Bonanza Fee dig. Pretty easy to tell, it was not what went onto the drying tray clear anymore. Ive got a cousin up in Canada playing with the lab opal too. I sent him dirt from here. Keep them coming. I just found those you gifted me. Still not crazed! And I dont expect them to. Respect the Volcanic Opal. I wish mine were that size.

That was an amazing opal. Big and filled with colors. Thanks for the wonderful show this evening. Hope you all have a blessed weekend. See you next time!!
incredible stone 🎉 given the shape I would have put the back as a face, though 😅… nevertheless, it is an amazing piece! need an update how it holds after some months in the dry.. would be a super rare gem if it remains stable 🤞🍀✨
I think you wasted a lot of the weight of this black opal! If you had meticulously removed the surrounding rock and accompanying minerals with a sanding needle, this black opal would have retained a lot more weight, and a lot more value. It's such a waste to just grind off all the sandstone parts like that!
Thanks for sharing, awesome to see a black opal being worked👍. I know nothing about opals and cutting but was wondering if the opal were to be cut thinner would that allow more light to be reflected and hence result in a brighter and more vibrate finished stone?
Wow I can't believe how big this turned out!! ❤
It is!!!
Beautiful work.

Too much extra sand and extra pitch, actually lowers the value of the stone. He created a magnificent gem. It's absolutely beautiful.

It really depends on the opal being cut. Thanks for watching!
