Hey, it's Rebecca Heineman! She created my favorite game of all time, Bard's Tale III, and has admitted it was her proudest achievement. I got to meet her in 2012. This year's VCF SW took place the same weekend as Boatfest, which my brother and I attended. I get exhausted just thinking about all the compositing post work that must've gone into the first 18 seconds of this video. But it's a great video!
Nobody covers VCF better than Maccy! Great job!
Agreed. Maccy would be the BEST virtual guide to all the big retro computing shows! #MaccyRoadShows
Veronica Explains just gave you a shout out on her channel and sent me over. I love retro! Can't believe I'm just now discovering this gem of a channel
We’re so glad you and Maccy could come. My fiancée now calls the compact Macs “Maccys”. I think Maccy was her favorite part of the show.
See you in 2024!
I can confirm! :)
Glad you had fun Maccy, what a lot to see! The Russian text was, from top to bottom: Elektronika (the brand name), kontrast (contrast) and Yarkost (brightness)
Love the video! I am so very glad that I brought the rare Apple Lisa badged Dot Matrix Printer to the show now! That was one of my artifacts loaned to the table across from me with all the Apple Lisa machines. The normal printer only has the text based "Apple" badge while this one has the early Lisa I logo. Next year I'll bring the Lisa Daisywheel printer too!
Hey there! Thanks again for lending me the Lisa Dot Matrix Printer; it was so cool to actually see one of those in person! And it'll be awesome to see the daisywheel model next year!
Great seeing you Maccy! Was a super cool show.
It was a great show! Your battery project and Channel are awesome! Glad to see you get into the compact mac space :)
Amazing stuff. I'll have to visit one of these retro computer shows one day!
Man, that was such a fun trip there. Can't wait for next year! I may or may not have a booth then, depending on what all I can gather for the booth X3
Thank you for the tour, it was great!
Looks like Maccy had a great time at VCF Southwest. He got some great footage for sure!
Hey, I recently subscribed to your channel! I love your videos and I already love Maccy as well 😊❤
Man, look at all those VICs at 3:07!
Thatnk you for all your hard work preserving our awesome history! And thank you for being an awesome woman showing my daughter that woman in science is cool. You’re a legend!
*women in science (plural)
Loved the Peggy Hill reference!
Thank you for a wonderful video. My only regret is all of the wonderful URLs or UA-cam channels mentioned were not in the description so we could easily get to them. Maybe a pinned post with them could work. :) Thank you,
Just added now!! :)
Thank you @@MacintoshLibrarian
"Do you see what I see? FREEEEEE Table!!! Video games? Video games? Awe, it's just books" Lol. I felt bad for maccy cause I got a free monitor at VCFWest! :D
also,
This is what real internet vintage nerd love is all about. Basking in the abundance of community and history and weird fan love. Thank you so much for not "editing this down" into "bite size" click bait algo-supporting-whatever. This is a true gem of a vid that really takes in the whole experience of why I love these communities so much!
P.S. will Maccy ever meet Mackie? :O
Man I’m in Waco and so bummed I couldn’t make this. Thanks for the video!
Great video. Maccy for President.
Found your channel while looking for Next videos.
I'm a retro PC guy, but love your content! 👍
I just checked, and I'm about equidistant from Dallas and Chicago. I'm putting VCF Southwest and VCF Midwest on my calendar to make the trips next year!
i love this channel SO MUCH!!!!!
I’d love to drive down for this sometime. Need to put it in my calendar.
Great tour Kate loved the action on peoples faces when they saw Maccy lots of cools thing at that event
Awesome Possum! Thank you Miss Fox!!
Thank you too!
That looks like it was a lot of fun!
OMG that's so cool! I didn't know Maccy knew you and Sean. Can Maccy recommend how a fellow Mac nerd can keep apprised of when all these cool Mac/retro computer events are in the Dallas area? I just got a Mac Portrait Display but not sure if it works yet because of the odd, and missing, video cable. Wish I could have brought it down and checked out.
This is so cool and brings back so many memories of these amazing systems.
Thank you for all that you do, Macintosh Librarian, and Maccy too!
Super awesome! So good to have met you there, and it was truly wonderful seeing all these beige boxes in good working order. Thanks for the shouts to 8bit guy and Paul Slocum's C64 synth.
That was a fun tour. Hope everyone enjoyed themselves!
Glad Maccy liked his Plotter-Portrait :)
Thank you soooo much for this! Your plotter portrait idea is so great!
9:21 I was just given a Iic that sadly had been stored in a barn for decades... filthy, not yet working, but it does have the color monitor like this one. The tube fires up, but it isn't working properly either. I think it's repairable, though. As usual, great video! I have yet to make it to one of these festivals. I'm closest to the one in Atlanta, so I'm hoping to make the next one!
Whoah! A Microbee on a non Australian channel. Awesome!
(A large part of my collection is Microbees. I have several different models)
Fantastic footage! These show videos always bring back a flush of memories.
Love your content and you are absolutely adorable. :)
All that vintage equipment is bringing back so many good memories or computing when I was younger.
This is incredibly adorable.
That's a really cool mouse pad at the beginning of the video
You make amazing videos.
Thanks for the fantastic coverage of the VCF meet Maccy! Looks like you and Ms. Fox had a blast!
❤❤❤
I was about 12 y/o when most of these home computers were in use. I had the Atari 600XL, a Lazer128 Apple II clone, and then I embraced the PC darkside. Now I'm a Mac guy except for gaming with the PC owns IMO.
Thanks for the shout-out! I enjoyed meeting you and Maccy. See you next year!
Can't wait! It was great meeting you too 😺
Awesome 😮
I would love to show off my Commodore64 ATX forn factor, at a show like this. But there does not seem to be any interrest for these rare machines at all in the retro community. So I keep it for my self, for my own enjoyment.
At 1:57 underneath the Radio Shack table, that looks like a Computer Reset Zenith box.
I think it is!
Hey! I recognize that woodgrain C64 at 7:25 ...maybe because it's the star of my channel... (Woody's Retro Loft) Clint the C64 loved meeting Maccy.
That show looked so cool 😎
Amazing tour. Love the perspective from Maccy
I could not stop smiling throughout the whole of this vid. Thanks Maccy!
my people are at this kind of fair! perfect gathering! I would love came to one of these events someday.
Very nice coverage of the show! Thanks for sharing this with us.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Maccy for all the interesting information! :D
The outro music always gets stuck in my head, both just repeating and improvising follow-up phrases :)
Return of the Mac ah haaaaaaaa 😘
Did I see Burger Becky in one of those shots? (I did, and I know that shows my age)
5:35 kontrast (contrast) yarkost (soft t) (brightness)
I miss my old Mac SE30. So many hypercard animations....
This is so unhinged I love it
nice! I am currently working on a tandy 2500 sx/32mhz needing some tandy 30 pin ram know it laying around here somewhere
nice!! Tandy was big! it would be neat to imagine a future with Tandy Phones and TandyTablets
That was a great show. I will go again next year for certain.
Glad y'all had a great time!
I just love Maccy!
Maccy is the best. :D
What program do you use for McKey. Wonderful companion.
I would never leave.
"It's Zed! …and no. Neil Peart stends alone."
Awesome! I am in town for VCF Midwest, I imagine you are not going to go to two VCFs in one year but who knows? Haha. Edit: Oh wow, Burger Becky! And 8-Bit Guy was there!? Huh, wonder if he will be at Midwest too, that is a lot of logistics and relocating in the span of a week
Generally, the dates of each VCF have been known for months so they're able to plan to go. Plus, many are regulars who go every year. I know 8-Bit Guy is there as he's been sharing pics of the road trip up.
Xerox Bark? 😛
Love Maccy's face! Is that a program you created?
Is one Lisa known as a MonoLisa?
Zed ex spectrum
Oh, Madame Librarian, I sent you this question on Instagram, but who does your music, especially your outro?
I made it! It is a remix of return of the mac ;)
@@MacintoshLibrarian nice! Very well done!
