Wow, so this video is doing a lot better than I had anticipated! It's all a little overwhelming to be honest 😅 A BIG thank you to y'all who have watched, commented, liked (or disliked), or subscribed! It means so much to me. There is a lot more to come, so I hope you stick around for the journey. I've got a LEGO Fortnite video coming out soon, so stay tuned for that! This all a brand new learning experience for me, and I have loved every second of it! Again, thank you all, and happy holidays!!!
@@CYCLONYTE also the fact that theres no vbucks in it if you buy it now, i love playing stw because its fun and it gets me stuff in br, i wouldnt even consider buying stw if there where no vbucks
The thing is... while there is a market for it, it's a fraction of the market of the other modes. And even then, there are probably a decent number of people playing STW just to grind out the Battle Pass or get the free V-Bucks. There would probably be even more if they would allow people to use their STW character skins in other modes the way you can use BR skins in STW.... But in the end, they are going to follow the money like any other company. And the money says giving the other modes more support is the better bet...
As a founder in stw, it's just so disappointing seeing this gamemode go down and epic even removed daily rewards just because people log in for daily rewards and nothing else. Stw had such a big potential and im sure if they work on it normally and actually finish it and make it free to play it will definitely revive the gamemode.
Yeah it sucks to see. They definitely have the resources to finish it and make it amazing, but it’s just rotting away instead. Free to play would help it for sure!
Removing the daily login rewards was both a good thing and required by Chinese law changes regardless (they are cracking down on some dark practices such as incentives to log into a game within certain periods of time). You get slightly MORE V-Bucks from just 80 a day over the long-stretched login rewards that didn't require you to do anything, not even taking into account the chance at getting a Daily Quest that gives you up to 130!
I still fantasize about a day that Epic focuses some of their endless resources back into STW and rework it into something magical. Imagine Fortnite STW had an open world like survival aspect similar to Minecraft...This game mode has SO much potential and to see it basically sitting here collecting dust breaks my heart. I think with a bit of work, and some creative minds collaborating, STW could be one of the best games ever made.
My brothers and me started playing stw in Summer of 2018 and absolutely loved it. One of the first things my big brother said when chapter 5 dropped was that he is disappointed that stw isn't part of the loading screen. He said that Epic Games is treating stw like the unwanted child.
True... With them going for this whole multiverse concept adding in all these new official modes, it would have been the perfect time to push STW back to the forward again.
@@nekoali2 That train drove off when they decided to not further care about it in the first place. It´s honestly insane to think that back then one of the first things people found out was that buying every supporter upgrade pack would unlock a secret even more expensive upgrade which people bought regardless to support the game, and yet despite both: all of the controversy around that thing and the fact that people supported it regardless the main game got abandoned and somehow the franchise is still thriving. Honestly feel sorry for the people that invested more than a thousand to support a game they´ve been waiting for for half a decade just to not even get the last bit of content.
Your 100% right, I was devastated when it never went free to play. And loads of people would love to come back (old and new) to see a fleshed out story for twine. Because ventures ain’t cutting it, I’ve gridded to the max level for the super chargers in less than 24 hours. It’s no longer an “end game” thing for most players past 131 and up, and I think epic REALLY need to make it free to play and let some employees work on a forgotten game that is good imo.😢
My parents bought my brother and i the first founders pack that released. We didnt actually play stw for years, but my dad plays it regularly now. He doesnt even play battle royale, just stw. I got into it for a while after he picked it up but stopped playing after i dropped fortnite alltogether. He's almost to storm king while im in plankerton lol. The best part is that my mom plays fortnite too, only its just battle royale. Shes been playing consistantly since chapter 1 season 8. It's honestly crazy how much better shes gotten. We all play both gamemodes as a family occasionally and i think thats really special.
I am a safe the world founder and in my opinion STW is still the best tower defense RPG on the market. It's breaks my heart to see it being abandoned by EPIC,
It still has 20k average players, it peaked at 80k in Fortnite OG. And they still introduce new guns, heroes and occasionally new zones and storylines. Even if the main storyline was abandoned due to the success of BR and the allocation of developrs, the game is still very worthwhile to play. It has quite a learning curve but there's many videos on UA-cam that help massively. The main problem is that they didn't make it F2P.
STW has been getting a ton of attention this year, with many more bug fixes than previous years, and actual new content. The daily player count has doubled after OG Fortnite which is amazing, and I quite enjoy playing it much more than Battle Royale. One unfortunate thing is that there's over 600 bugs and issues currently, I know, quite disappointing.
I can tell you I really like the new melee haha, but yeah, if it was more storyline or major balance changes like altering the F.O.R.T. stat bonuses that would be much better.
It's always been crazy to me just how early in development some of the assets we know and love today came to be. A lot of them are turning a decade old this coming year, if they weren't already. I mean, even as far back as the 2011 version, you can see some of the exact same tree models that are STILL used in the game today. Not saying that in a negative way either. I absolutely love the Chapter 1/STW artstyle. Just baffles me how long they've been around.
It's really sad to see how this all turned out. I was really big into the game when it first came out. Even ended up as a moderator for the official Discord for a while. Even got a few ideas into the game during my time as a moderator after having shared them with the devs. The falling tire trap was inspired by a falling bomblet idea I shared. I just wanted a trap that rolled down slopes. That pickaxe with the unicorn head with the horn as the pick part of the pickaxe was my idea. It was inspired by the skin with the unicorn and rainbow on the chest. It was so cool to see it become a toy and later on end up in the Ryan Reynolds movie Free Guy. I even got a Smasher statue as reward for my time as a moderator as well as a lot of Fortnite shirts. The Prop Hunt mode was also a suggestion of mine, though it came out well after I stopped being a moderator. I needed a break from things and went on hiatus as a mod and never went back. I wasn't happy with how things turned out. It's just really sad to see.
@@StopSomething I didn't invent it. It existed well before I made the suggestion to the devs. All I did is let them know I thought it would be a really good fit for Fortnite considering all of the objects they had scattered around the game that people could play with. I didn't think they were actually going to use the idea, but then they did. There's even a chance they may have eventually come up with the idea on their own at some point. All I know is I made the suggestion and it ended up in the game alongside a few of the other ideas I passed along that made it into the game.
i think stw has a cult following that will only grow i remember in earlier seasons it was rare to find people when you fill but now theres always randoms to complete missions with also we saw 60 thousand player peak also most games would kill for 40k players its just sad epic doesn't give it more updates
There is definitely a dedicated player base for STW. The game isn’t really dead in terms of players. Epic just hasn’t done anything to help STW, even though there is a decently sized audience for it.
Even with the little attention Save The World gets by Epic, I still love it, which leads me to thinking what it could be if only it had gotten a little more attention. I would love to see a storyline for Twine Peaks, but I've completely given up on that. Really great video, by the way!
So funny story: I started playing Save The World around season 7. Got the mode along with frosted legends pack for Christmas. Sped through Stonewood and Plankerton in just about 1 - 2 weeks. Did not understand half of the mechanics at the time so I had to rely on the teams that I were in. Everything went well. Then there’s Canny Valley. There was no one at all. Nobody in Stormshield missions, nobody in main missions, not even in playing with others. For over half a year I had to go through Canny Valley solo almost all the time. I think I broke the system because I skipped the story missions along with accessing power 70 missions at power 46. By the time I got Twine Peaks, I started to understand more and more of the mechanics and caught up with power. With the help of players, luck with Llamas and my somehow stable sanity, I finished the Stormshield Defences, got access to all of the missions and defeated the Mythic Storm King. All of this was done in more or less 3 years. All that remains is the main story quests. I haven’t really been thinking about the main story at all until a year or two later. The whole time I playing through event missions, attempting and failing to grind resources and just playing mission just for the fun of it. It was until a few months ago that I want to finish the story so I can leave this game alone once and for all. So I revisited Canny Valley, used a walkthrough and to my surprise, I quite enjoyed the last few missions. It was a weird trip down memory lane and the story felt more important to me than it should be. The missions were so easy and I get to actually play with players so it was a pretty straightforward experience. Got annoying at some parts but still doable. At last, I got to the story Storm king and defeated him. Just a short few missions later, the game is finished. After 4-5 years, I completed the game’s story and it was the one most rememberable gaming experiences I ever had. (Sorry for any any bad grammar in this extremely long story. Not very great at it)
It’s simple what went wrong with STW. Epic stopped caring once BR blew up in popularity. Rather than using that money from BR to invest into STW to make them both popular, they decided to slowly stop caring about STW, taking away their devs and resources to instead be used towards BR. Epic hates STW so much that they won’t even release it for free, in-spite of them teasing a free release for years.
Well its not completely forgotten. Ive got the founders edition and love horde shooters. The combination of lots of different mechanics, multitude of missions and enemies and, at the end of the day, free vbucks, keeps me coming back loads
I bought STW back before 2020 when I got the Deluxe version mainly because of the ability to farm VBucks but I got pretty caught on for a while. Throughout the years I finished the story, got to power level 130 ( did only one full venture zone then never bothered again with superchargers ) and now it feels very blank apart from earning VBucks and farming battle pass XP with full afk endurance. I think somewhere in the process of evolution of STW the story changed, or at lesst the way it was told because I remember Ramirez talking a lot, Ray being like the leader of the homebase, more of the basic heroes having their own parts and one day after a pause I hopped back in and the UI was different, transform keys were removed and characters like Dennis, Major Oswald, Clip and Director Riggs popped out of nowhere and since I was in plankerton somewhere I didn't get the introduction to them, or at least I don't remember how they got into homebase at all. Also I specifically remember one mention of twine peaks way back in stonewood where Ramirez says thats where her family is and that it is very far away. Honestly I would much rather have the story finished than a lot of events that come around and ventures which are really not fun when you have to buy weapons in vending machines and cannot craft your own.
Yeah the game is quite different now from when I played it in 2018. Seems like they just pulled back on many of the ideas they had for the game as Battle Royale was becoming their main focus. I just want Twine Peaks to have a story.
First thing, great video man you have a bright future, second thing . I started playing stw in 2018 because of the whole free v bucks thing but with Time I grew to love the mode and when I realized there was nothing after canny valley I was so disappointed, it’s a shame honestly, stw had so much potential and that it’s all gone thanks to the success of battle Royale
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah, the vbucks brought me to the game, but I kept playing for the game itself. It was so sad to see it end after canny valley.
This video made want to give save the world a shot! It a shame to hear how little attention its been getting from epic lately, especially considering 30-40k concurrent players is still a lot compared to other games.
There is a decently sized audience for STW especially considering Epic doesn’t really support it that much. I’m glad you want to try it out! It’s a fun time!
i love stw so much, been playing since 2018-2019 and it really sucks seeing where it went, but i grind every once in a while with an enjoy it while it lasts mindset
Heart Breaker. Loved this game, played and grinded it for years. I have all the weapons & trap blueprints , heros and survivors maxed out. I stopped playing in 2022 as the fate was clear. I hop on from time to time but there is literally zero reason or incentive to play. Great Vid man thanks for the trip down memory lane.
I've always been a huge stw fan and It honestly hurt when they basically told us that the game is dead, Though I still hold out hope for just one more update that'll at the very least open up the Twine story and finish it. I know the chances of that happening are like next to nothing. Im coping hard. Also great video, easily got my sub from this. Can't wait to see more
I love STW is probably my main game mode when I play solo and I play daily just to improve something or the daily missions. Is a pity that it was nearly abandoned because it had a good potential and I hope that if the create a open world mode they use some of the characters and story from STW.
The crazy thing is that Stw on average has the same amount if not more than the most popular creatives maps when comparing active plauer bases. Its hgonestly surprsing as hell how consistently you can get 4 squad lobbies... up to an extent. Most of the time youre likely to do solos or duos on that ONE game due to people just being higher leveled due to how old the playerbase is. Honestly love STW ❤
Tons of great games I’ve played are always abandoned cause the devs didn’t see the potential of their games, an example would be Minecraft dungeons (now a dead game) but it had so much potential and mojang did really care
I always come back to save the world, I did stop playing for a couple of years but I’m back on the grind now and have been for over a yer now. I hope it’s always around for me to come back to… its getting hard to give it the attention it deserves right now with all the new modes, and the lego mode has pretty much taken me away from battle royal, but I’m trying to stay in touch with STW and get my weekly’s done. Love the game, it’s just that so many games are just about the grind. It’s hard to play more than 1 game regularly these days.
Pretty much how I’ve been with Save The World as well. There is just so much going on with Fortnite right now, which isn’t a bad thing, but I wish save the world got some extra love from Epic
I feel like they could actually go back to save the world in the future they have the money and they can make a small team to focus on save the world content.
epic games actually doesnt have the money for it, they recently announced lay offs because they spend too much more and dont make enough. thats why seasons keep getting longer and longer and updates are becoming less and less frequent, we're well over a month since the last update and it used to be bi weekly
After I defeated storm king and saved the world I had no desire to continue playing besides doing dailies and those v buck missions we barely ever get now
I've got the platinum trophy, finished my endurance, completely finished all quest and ive almost got all the schematics all maxed out. There's nothing for me to do left. All im doing is helping randoms grind the game at this point. Lastly epic was supposed to add a new zone a while back called spectral cliff with 6 star materials because it was leaked but it never happened. I'm over 2000k days played on this mode.
I personally don’t mind the end game stuff in twine peaks if it was backed up with some story like you said in the video, I just wished that Epic can for once make a single season dedicated to save the world in battle royal to tie in the story from both worlds (similar to the Marvel collab season except with Save the world content)
@@CYCLONYTE exactly, in fact I wouldn't mind if they made STW characters be battle pass skins like Jesse and Kyle for example. They have a lot of characters in STW that are not skins yet and Penny is the only STW skin be released TWICE in two different variants. They even made Kyle an NPC at one point in chapter 2 so they can for sure make a STW battle pass for Battle royal
Daily rewards got removed from stw as well and I'm pretty sure the community went mad over this, myself included because I always looked forward to the singular weekly llama you got
I think if they make it free to play and bring back the ability to buy Lammas with v bucks the game could be reinvigorated. Maybe they could do some free weekend and they plaster it in the news tab to make sure people know. That can make people try the game and then buy it.
@@CYCLONYTE I’m just suprised they haven’t even tried it as it could be more money of people buying it or maybe actually making it free. Also I think buying Lammas with vbucks should return. I never bought them with v bucks but with tickets. But still I am confused as to why the cut a revenue source. Overall I think move like that with no real risk and gives more benefit than anything. I mean they want the game to be the metaverse so making the original mode more popular is a step they need to take.
STW is my thing!! It’s so hard to keep grinding a game that feels like EPIC has forgot about. I find myself grinding more LEGO Fortnite than my all time fav STW. 😢😢😢
I’ll always have fun playing STW, but it’s definitely hard to play it sometimes since it’s pretty much been abandoned. I do enjoy LEGO Fortnite though.
Even if epic doesnt give massive updates for stw, it would still be nice to see new guns / new content every once in a while, the mode has so much potential but just doesnt get updates at all
Its so sad. If i could and worked in the STW team at epic i would finish the storyline because its not complete And at the end when you completed everything, the entire World is saved and healed and you will get a insanely big reward
I heard of STW in 2017 but never played it until I heard of Battle Royale. I started playing BR in 2017 and STW in 2018. I honestly enjoy save the world more than battle royale and still play it with my friends sometimes because it is genuinely just fun. I don't even get v-bucks from it because I lost my other account and had to buy another copy of stw.
I love STW! I wish more of my friends still played it. Even if I wasn't able to earn vbucks, I'd honestly still play it from time to time because I have fun with it.
I don’t understand why didn’t they made it free to play. That would have made the game popular since many people weren’t willing to spend money on a mode when they are already playing the free games on Fortnite.
you can get a whole lot more than 150 vbucks per week still..........if you do daily missions and run any vbuck missions, you can easily pull over 150 vbucks a day depending on the missions that spawn. But just the dailies give you 80 vbucks per day (560 vbucks a week for around 10-20 min of gameplay per day) and a lot of days you will have over 100 vbucks you can get from missions........im at over 30k vbucks from just casually playing stw over the past couple months, and I spend vbucks on skins all the time...... I think vbuck missions are closed to new stw players but I'm not positive about that. it's a great game just not what the majority of gamers want right now......every1 wants to play a competitive br game which fortnite mastered.......also I'd like to point out they released a br mode as an attempt at not going bankrupt and saying that it worked out perfectly is a massive understatement. So without the BR mode there would be no stw to play anymore.
Save the world still averages 30-40k players. And it's not that hard to find people to play with. It's not dead at all they just released a new weapon the slicicle
I would kill for an update where we actually, yknow, save the world as the conclusion of the story, and don’t just get a half assed cinematic at the end. Save the world bleeds charm and even though it’s killed we can at least still see its influence in stuff like the Big Bang event and Lego Fortnite, even if it’s just programmers reusing names and models
I love STW and still play it nearly every day. I love the complexity and subtlety in the interaction between characters builds and weapon builds. I enjoy trapping the base to use the least possible material (don’t get me started on dudes who just spam Ceiling Electric Field or Tire Trap). Sometimes I pick some wires hero or weapon and try to build something viable with it. It likely won’t hold up in 160s, but it’s fun to change up your gameplay style by doing something off-meta. Very good video. The only thing you left out was the change from old character setup and RNG guns, to selections the player makes.
Im og STW player and its sad what EPIC did to us, to see streamers left the game, content creators as well ... Its bad that epic slowed down that still unique game... It may say that the game is done but i think its far from done... not only twine peaks... back in the day some of us got 6 stars ores and materials which may hint zone after twine.... some of us still have that materials as a reminder what it was and hint about old Epic ideas.... I still hope Epic change theyr mind and come back for us... Im on the boat till the end
I am a huge Save the World enthusiast. I was following it through the alphas. I bought the biggest Founder's pack. I played it daily when it released. It was my favorite game at the time. When they released the Battle Royale mode I tried it for a bit, but never stuck with it. I'm generally not a big fan or very good at BR games, so I wasn't a big fan of Fortnite's version either. But that was fine, I had the 'real' version of the game to play and the storyline to unfold, exited about the upcoming release of the Canny Valley zone.... I was a big play of survival crafting style games, and I love the co-op tower defense mechanics, the destructible world that you could tear down, gather and build a fort to fight off the Husks and accomplish your mission, or build up your home bases and defend them. I loved the silly, cartoony style of things compared to most survival crafting games, and how everything was so tongue in cheek despite the apocalyptic setting. But then the BR mode just kept getting bigger and bigger. And more resources were being pulled not only from Save the World as it was renamed, but also other areas of the company as well. I was a big player of the Paragon MOBA game as well. But they struggled with a vision and slumping player base because they kept reinventing the game. And eventually that was canceled entirely and absorbed by the Fortnite BR team. Fortunately they released the assets from that game and other people have picked up and made new versions of Paragon. I grew more disillusioned with the fate of Save the World, especially after the Storm King was released early. It became harder and harder to find random people to play with. Progress has slowed to a glacial crawl and is now pretty much just in a holding stage. I played it less and less, going weeks or months without launching it... It even got eventually dropped from being side by side with the BR mode to one of their small 'experiences', which at first I thought they dropped it entirely until someone pointed out where you could search for it. Honestly I had pretty much written off the game for the last year or so, until the release of Season 5. With the introduction of Lego Fortnite and Rocket Racers I came back. I even found that I'm enjoying the Battle Royale mode and have gone back to playing Save the World regularly, though playing it solo now. And as sad as I was that this secondary Battle Royale mode eventually came to not only overshadow but completely overwhelm the original game to such a degree, I also recognize that if it hadn't been for the overwhelming popularity of the BR side of thing, and more importantly all the money it keeps bringing in, then at best they would have completed the planned story for Save the World, and then moved on to other things, leaving the game to fade into obscurity. Quite possibly it would have fallen off and never been finished, winding up canceled the way that Paragon was. So while it's true that Fortnite Battle Royale killed development on Save the World, it also allowed it to keep existing in some capacity. We may never get the game finished like we wanted it to be. But so long as Fortnite survives and keeps growing, then so will Save the World, and at least get little upgrades. Even if the Twine Peaks storyline never happens.
I bought the founders pack and I never regretted it. Bought it in chapter 1 season 6 because I realized that the Battle Royale gamemode was not the complete game. I still play it.
I brought founders in 2018 and never played until 2023, when I wanted to be able to play with my friend in canny valley. However, I dare say the only reason I play after getting to twine peaks, I went to stone wood to twine peaks without any guide in 2 months. I mostly solo queued until mid-plankerton, when I noticed fill was easier, and I had the most fun(I read on Reddit how stw players say never to rush or speedrun as it would get boring) but it was not the case for me. I kept playing after noticing it would be a breeze for daily quests, and around 2 and a half weeks, but a skin in BR. Unless my friend is on, I only do daily quests and help lower power levels from time to time.
I jumped on board STW just before the whole battle royal thing blew up and Fortnite became that. While i enjoyed the battle royal with friends, STW was always my main mode. Recently have come back to complete the story, as i dropped the game for other things about half way through the third zone.
There's actually 2 ways to save STW. First off make stw free and secondly finish twine peak's story. That would definitely boost the player count for STW. From the looks of it epic has started listening to its community. So if everyone decide to talk for STW it could be saved. But this must not be only done by few people but most of the community ofc
When i first saw Fortnite i was already sold, a game that looks like TF2? With zombies? With the ability to build traps to stop them? Have my money My PC wasn't powerful enough but also i never gameplay of STW, only battle royale when it came out, radio silent was the game when there only was Save The World I almost forgot, one of the many reasons i wanted to play stw is because Ashly Burch (Ray) also voiced Miss Pauling from TF2, and when the text said that it was going to be free i waited and waited and nothing happened
I'm unreal in ranked and every season once I finish my unreal grind I go back to save the world for my fun. Grinding Ranked for 2 weeks then an entire season of save the world lol. I still thoroughly enjoy save the world and am glad it exists to fall back on. I couldn't imagine trying to grind the unreal leaderboard just to do it...
Remember the good old days lol?? Scammer gets scammed videos, philanthropy.. Remember the lobby chat where people would just ask to trade, or more often, “Lay out your guns so I can see what you have” then get subsequently booted from their base? Lol. Hell there used to even be sites to buy in-game items with real money, craziness. I always just figured it was a scam, but I’m sure someone made bank.. I used to watch a guy who went by Vash, he would do STW update videos with a red bandanna on his head.. When STW died my first thought was what is that guy gonna do now?? Update: he and Meags are making a new game on their own, totally epic. If they did something with it, I would play it. Instead, Epic has more revenue than they could have ever dreamed of and absolutely no reason to resurrect it. Devoted fans of the original game mode are not a cash cow. Unlike the kids with access to mom’s credit card, STW players, at least the reliable ones not just there for V-bucks always struck me as judicious grinders who played because they enjoyed it. The OG OG indeed..
I still consider Battle Royale a Fortnite DLC. STW was the original vision and it would have been so cool if Epic wasn't so money-hungry and collab-addicted, STW would have been HUGE! You should also check out Project Mercury. It's a way to play OG STW (from 2016). It would make a great video exploring all the old stuff STW had to offer.
I was always curious about STW ever since my friends and I started playing Battle Royal around 2019. I always thought about giving it a shot. Nice concise, well edited video
I was originally one of those people who downloaded the game to play BR in 2017. I stumbled on STW by accident because of a glitch on the home screen during season 3 (2018) I remember the epic cutscene of Ramirez running from the husks then you actually got to play with her and travel INSIDE OF HOMEBASE! I was in love with BR at the time so the idea of learning the story behind the game was intriguing to me. I ended playing the game more & more over time using the same glitch until I decided it was good enough for me to by the highest founder’s pack for the game. Needless to say, what has happened with the story mode since then has been nothing short of a disappointment considering it isn’t even linked to BR anymore. Most people don’t know this but Ray actually talks about how she was close with Dr. Vinderman (hence the name V-BUCKS, vindertech) before he mysteriously disappeared and he is the only person who knows how to stop the storm. Epic decided to go in a different direction with the BR story since it originally was going to be linked to STW. Even the vindertech weapons had the “V” logo removed from them since they didn’t want too many players to realize that’s the same logo on the V-Bucks everyone cares about
The thing about stw is I noticed the zapatron was in the gamemode and I remember when it came out way back in ch1 until about a day later it got removed
I remember grinding out to beat the storm king in time to get that sweet enamel pin (Which I still have in all it's packaging, as well as the note I got with it with my username). Was so excited when I finished canny valley's story. Then Found out the story was "Finished", and shortly after stopped playing. Cuz if they weren't going to put in the effort into the game, then why should I? I did start playing again somewhat recently though, as being a founder account, I can still get V-Bucks through my account. SFW was done dirty in the end.
the removal of the daily login was to partially combat players that didnt actively play stw. they just login, get the rewards and switch over to br. i did miss out on the founders pack but looking back i probably wouldve not actually grinded through the game if i went that route. in its current state, its at the highest its been in player counts. before it was averaging around 15k-20k daily players on there. at think recently i saw it peak to 50k players. with a lot of the players hitting their max power level in this game now, idk if they will actually add anything. given that they added a brand new venture zone, they clearly been putting a lot of effort into the game with its already limited roster working on it. i just wished they actually used that effort into adding dialogue to the twine questline instead. i already completed the twine quests and just grinding out ventures when im not playing br. should be at power level 140 later this week. idk if i will keep on playing once i hit the max level. maybe for the br xp but all i can do is hope that during that time, they actually do something with it. as for the people that were hoping for it to go free to play, i will say that it wouldve not worked well at all. if anything it probably wouldve lost players given the state its been with the questlines. there would be 0 incentive to keep on playing it.
I agree It wouldn’t really work being free to play in its current state. Epic would have to actually support the game and probably find new and creative ways to monetize it. I just want something for Twine Peaks 😭
STW is one of the funnest games I’ve ever played but it fell short because the devs make it fall short. Had they continued the story and added a climax to actually save the world it would have been one of the best games of modern times
It’s not the facts that save the world is popular it’s just people don’t wanna buy to play save the world when they can play other games save the world is not a ordinary game like Lego Fortnite or the rocket race it’s a game made that take place thousands of years before battle Royale and it’s a game mode u can get many of opportunities that help u in BR for example free xp and free vbucks. I got save the world in 2018 when they drop the price and gotta say I enjoy it I still say save the world times to time more then Lego Fortnite or rocket racing because I thought Lego Fortnite was gonna be a BR game of legos but most people don’t wanna buy a game mode that Fortnite forgot about but 70K people play save the world back in og chapter 4 season 5 world
back in season 6 chapter one around halloween i decided to buy stw so i could grind some vbucks to buy the halloween cosmetics but i didnt really understand stw so i quit actually playing it and just logged in for daily rewards then i forgot about it entirely until fortnite og season i remembered it and now ive been playing it daily
I started playing fortnite in seasons 2 and I love save the world i never knew what it was until mid season 3 then i was like sure it sounds fun bought the i think it was the 30$ founder bundle and played nonstop for weeks then i stopped playing fortnite for the most part occasionally playing one mission and one round of BR and then i cant remember when it was that i came back but save the world felt abandoned and i knew it was a matter of time till it dies out and recently the launch of lego fortnite there was nearly 3 million playing lego alone and another like 2 million playing BR and i saw save the world with only around 50k and it sucked to see because save the world had so much possible and honestly still does if they just give it the attention and love it needs
I think the loot pool and the overall colors was better in Fortnite OG but I like the bigger POI's and the bounty board and to an extent the NPC and all the finer details they added overtime that we have back in season five
The storm king was an endgame boss. The story actually ends at the end of canny when ray cuts ties with you and homebase. After that its just repeated missions and seasonal events introducing weapons and characters as side quests.
Save the World gives me a nice break from battle royale. I had forgotten that I still get daily challenges for vbucks since I bought it in 2018. I missed out on so many vbucks for like 3 years
When I finished the story line I legitimately felt a bit of melancholy , it's so weird. I hope it gets some love, considering the amount of money Tim is losing with his decisions I don't think that will be the case. Only thing I can wish is for the source code to leak somehow
I also sad that save the world doesn't get the level of content that BR gets. Being a founder as well while i still get freebies from time to time. it still sucks. at least cross play works so i can play Fortnite (well Lego atm) on whatever i have (Pc/ps5/switch, currently on ps5 as my switch is already running low on space and my pc is in dire need of a upgrade, but still need a job)
Honestly, as upsetting as it is to see the game in its current state, I’m just thankful it still exists, and is getting SOME content. It could’ve gone the way of Paragon, yet we’re still getting new biomes, heroes, and weapons every so often. Hell, we even got a whole new mode last year (Which has my absolute favorite map of any mode in the game, and I hope that Epic makes a base game biome with those assets) Of course I’d love for it to get the same attention the other modes do, but all things considered, I think things turned out fine enough
They funneled funds from a pre-order zombies survival game into a mediocre BR. That is what happened. They then mostly abandoned the original players, only dropping the bi-yearly new content with more than 2 seconds of effort in it.
I completely forgot about save the world and I played a little every once in a while. I got stuck at plankton because I was a brain dead child that didn’t notice there was a squad feature and I recently revisited it because I didn’t have enough vbucks for this season’s battle pass I love the mode, ngl
Im not gonna lie I wouldnt have played were it not for the vbucks BUT I do think the mode is fun at times. The problem is that it's reeeallly grindy and even though they have made some changes over the years its still a hell of a grind. But I liked it enough to grind to the axehammer
Wow, so this video is doing a lot better than I had anticipated! It's all a little overwhelming to be honest 😅
A BIG thank you to y'all who have watched, commented, liked (or disliked), or subscribed!
You deserve it

I don't know why epic can't see there's still a market for save the world, I would buy a fucking payed DLC for twine peaks' story at this point.
I'd honestly pay for that too. STW is just being drowned out by all their other modes, but they don't do anything to help it.
STW would be a lot more popular if they finished the twin peaks storyline and if they made the game free like they promised they would do
@@CYCLONYTE also the fact that theres no vbucks in it if you buy it now, i love playing stw because its fun and it gets me stuff in br, i wouldnt even consider buying stw if there where no vbucks
@@matt_z_07save save the world
The thing is... while there is a market for it, it's a fraction of the market of the other modes.
This was the only game my dad played before he died it’s so sad to see save the world die like this
It’s sad to the state the game is in. I’m sorry about your father passing.
Really I’m so sorry !!
rest in peace 🫡
Aw 😢
Sorry for your loss man I know how it is
As a founder in stw, it's just so disappointing seeing this gamemode go down and epic even removed daily rewards just because people log in for daily rewards and nothing else. Stw had such a big potential and im sure if they work on it normally and actually finish it and make it free to play it will definitely revive the gamemode.
Yeah it sucks to see. They definitely have the resources to finish it and make it amazing, but it’s just rotting away instead. Free to play would help it for sure!
The fact that they were logging in at all is better than no one at all
You can make the same vbucks as before by doing daily quests. If anything this makes people play a bit instead of just logging in
Same I loved it
Removing the daily login rewards was both a good thing and required by Chinese law changes regardless (they are cracking down on some dark practices such as incentives to log into a game within certain periods of time).
I agree!
My brothers and me started playing stw in Summer of 2018 and absolutely loved it. One of the first things my big brother said when chapter 5 dropped was that he is disappointed that stw isn't part of the loading screen. He said that Epic Games is treating stw like the unwanted child.
That sums it up quite nicely 😂
Yeah ventures are fun but only for a little while. A story for Twine Peaks is what STW really needs, as well as actually becoming free to play
You griddied all the way there? FUKKIN legend.
Free to play, add a battle pass with new skins and heroes
\@@ANTI-LGBTQG widderawwy
@harawalplayz would be weird if they reworked STW at this point because lego fortnite is basically what it should have been all along
It's breaks my heart to see it being abandoned by EPIC,
Yup all that time of them saying (it in early development) just to abandon the game is pretty sad 😔
It’s good to see some of the traction STW is getting. I just wish it was more substantial content than bug fixes and things like that
I can tell you I really like the new melee haha, but yeah, if it was more storyline or major balance changes like altering the F.O.R.T. stat bonuses that would be much better.
Those assets are GOATED! They have such a cool style that oozes personality
That’s sick bro
Yeah it sucks to see it end up this way. I got you to thank for that tire trap, though! That thing is the GOAT
Blud thinks he invented prop hunt

@CYCLONYTE so it would be more fitting to say its abounded
You can say that, but "Forgotten" sounds better for a video title lol
I mean they still update it kinda

Even with the little attention Save The World gets by Epic, I still love it, which leads me to thinking what it could be if only it had gotten a little more attention. I would love to see a storyline for Twine Peaks, but I've completely given up on that. Really great video, by the way!
Thanks! A twine peaks story would make my Christmas 🎅
@@CYCLONYTE It would make my year lol
So funny story:
I started playing Save The World around season 7.
Not very great at it)
Well that’s one way to play through the game 😂 I’m still working my way to the mythic storm king.
It’s simple what went wrong with STW. Epic stopped caring once BR blew up in popularity. Rather than using that money from BR to invest into STW to make them both popular, they decided to slowly stop caring about STW, taking away their devs and resources to instead be used towards BR.
Epic hates STW so much that they won’t even release it for free, in-spite of them teasing a free release for years.
yeah STW is my reason i got into Fortnite in the first place now i have no reason to go into that pop culture game.
Well its not completely forgotten. Ive got the founders edition and love horde shooters. The combination of lots of different mechanics, multitude of missions and enemies and, at the end of the day, free vbucks, keeps me coming back loads
I’ll always keep coming back to STW. It’s pretty much forgotten in Epic’s mind tho 🥲 I wish they’d remember it
Compare STW to any other aspect of Fortnite and you'll see it doesn't get nearly as much love and attention.
It was so sad to see it end after canny valley.
im a few months late but man this video was so real dude especially the narrative in the intro miss the old graphics
It's got a bit more depth to it than you might initially realise! We welcome you if you consider :)
i love stw so much, been playing since 2018-2019 and it really sucks seeing where it went, but i grind every once in a while with an enjoy it while it lasts mindset
Same here!
Heart Breaker. Loved this game, played and grinded it for years. I have all the weapons & trap blueprints , heros and survivors maxed out. I stopped playing in 2022 as the fate was clear. I hop on from time to time but there is literally zero reason or incentive to play. Great Vid man thanks for the trip down memory lane.
if save the world was free to play i think it would gain more attention especially if you could earn vbucks or costumes.
Yeah they should’ve made it free to play and found other ways to monetize it
I've always been a huge stw fan and It honestly hurt when they basically told us that the game is dead, Though I still hold out hope for just one more update that'll at the very least open up the Twine story and finish it. I know the chances of that happening are like next to nothing. Im coping hard. Also great video, easily got my sub from this. Can't wait to see more
Thanks for the sub and your kind words! I would love for STW to get some sort of support or revamp, it’s just not likely unfortunately 🥲
Honestly love STW ❤
yes you can find easy full lobbies even if you dont you can easily find player on other region
Tons of great games I’ve played are always abandoned cause the devs didn’t see the potential of their games, an example would be Minecraft dungeons (now a dead game) but it had so much potential and mojang did really care
Bet me, this guy will be one of the biggest fortnite creators in the future
I laughed when you said 30-40 thousand players it is 1/4 that now😢 and it harder to find players to play with
I always come back to save the world, I did stop playing for a couple of years but I’m back on the grind now and have been for over a yer now.
If Fortnite updated and focused on STW instead of LEGO and Rocket Racing then STW would be 100x better than LEGO and racing
i agree but it already is 100x better than those games lawl
I feel like they could actually go back to save the world in the future they have the money and they can make a small team to focus on save the world content.
They definitely have the resources for it. I can only hope they do 🤞
epic games actually doesnt have the money for it, they recently announced lay offs because they spend too much more and dont make enough.
thats why seasons keep getting longer and longer and updates are becoming less and less frequent, we're well over a month since the last update and it used to be bi weekly
Bc dumbass epic wants to keep buying out collabs every week
Sadly you’re spot on. It’s difficult to find a solid player to game with in stw. Let alone a good team.
I had to play most of my missions solo 😅
After I defeated storm king and saved the world I had no desire to continue playing besides doing dailies and those v buck missions we barely ever get now
Same here pretty much
I've got the platinum trophy, finished my endurance, completely finished all quest and ive almost got all the schematics all maxed out. There's nothing for me to do left. All im doing is helping randoms grind the game at this point. Lastly epic was supposed to add a new zone a while back called spectral cliff with 6 star materials because it was leaked but it never happened. I'm over 2000k days played on this mode.
Wow, you are the STW God! Epic for sure had much bigger plans for STW than what it ended up being today. Spectral cliff just sounds so cool!
I actually have evidence for 6 star crafting materials that a player gave to me one day. Epic hasn’t removed it from my storage so who knows.
@@CYCLONYTE it would've been dope but I'm still waiting for the day epic goes back to their roots.
I personally don’t mind the end game stuff in twine peaks if it was backed up with some story like you said in the video, I just wished that Epic can for once make a single season dedicated to save the world in battle royal to tie in the story from both worlds (similar to the Marvel collab season except with Save the world content)
Great idea! I always thought a husk skin for Battle Royale would be an easy slam dunk, but they haven’t done it yet.
Same here. I don’t think the boosted vbucks from daily quests justify getting rid of the daily login rewards.
Save the world enthusiast here. Got to max PL twice. Still, I understand the STW era isn’t likely to return.
I think if they make it free to play and bring back the ability to buy Lammas with v bucks the game could be reinvigorated. Maybe they could do some free weekend and they plaster it in the news tab to make sure people know. That can make people try the game and then buy it.
A free weekend could be just what the game needs to get more players interested. Anything to let Epic know that it is still worth updating.
Even if epic doesnt give massive updates for stw, it would still be nice to see new guns / new content every once in a while, the mode has so much potential but just doesnt get updates at all
Save The World needs to be saved!
Its so sad. If i could and worked in the STW team at epic i would finish the storyline because its not complete
And at the end when you completed everything, the entire World is saved and healed and you will get a insanely big reward
You should make it happen lol!

I played back in chapter 1 and every time I logged on, I wanted to play Stw. RIP. STW
It always looked like some super-secret game mode that only cool people were allowed to play
Who remembers when you were able to grind about 150 vbucks per week in STW? That was a huge reason why I played the mode.
That was a big draw for me when I first got the game
you can get a whole lot more than 150 vbucks per week still..........if you do daily missions and run any vbuck missions, you can easily pull over 150 vbucks a day depending on the missions that spawn.
It’s not dead. I just wish Epic gave it more love. A new weapon is more than I was expecting from them tbh 😂
I want nothing more than for Save The World to become what Epic wanted it to be years ago. It’s just a hollow shell of Epic’s original dream.
Epic definitely had bigger ideas for STW back then. Sad to see them not come to fruition ☹️
Glad they made it so You can purchase challenge packs to play save the world. Still hurts that it's not being used to it's full potential
It feels like it’s on life support 😭
Fortnite is eternal. Save The World is just along for the ride I guess. Would still love a Twine Peaks story tho lol!
I bought the founders pack and I never regretted it. Bought it in chapter 1 season 6 because I realized that the Battle Royale gamemode was not the complete game. I still play it.
As a powerlevel 134 in stw I hate myself for still playing it
Bro saameee. Although I've kinda ditched it lately.
I had to BEG my mom to get me the Tier 4 Founders pack for my birthday
I jumped on board STW just before the whole battle royal thing blew up and Fortnite became that. While i enjoyed the battle royal with friends, STW was always my main mode. Recently have come back to complete the story, as i dropped the game for other things about half way through the third zone.
There's actually 2 ways to save STW. First off make stw free and secondly finish twine peak's story. That would definitely boost the player count for STW. From the looks of it epic has started listening to its community. So if everyone decide to talk for STW it could be saved. But this must not be only done by few people but most of the community ofc
Free to play would help it get a lot more exposure, which might incentivize them to actually finish the game
I will never accept save the worlds “fate” ima hold on to it forever, been playing since 2018 and nothings stopping me from playing it to this day
Any tips for returning players?
@@stockpistol just play the game I usually set goals for myself to accomplish. Rn I’m working on having 150 god rolled weapons
I really wish that they would go back to stw or even make a new story mode like it i just really want an updated story mode for fortnite
Same here 🥲
When i first saw Fortnite i was already sold, a game that looks like TF2? With zombies? With the ability to build traps to stop them? Have my money
My PC wasn't powerful enough but also i never gameplay of STW, only battle royale when it came out, radio silent was the game when there only was Save The World
I almost forgot, one of the many reasons i wanted to play stw is because Ashly Burch (Ray) also voiced Miss Pauling from TF2, and when the text said that it was going to be free i waited and waited and nothing happened
It would make a great video exploring all the old stuff STW had to offer.
i'm always sad to see that STW is not on nintendo switch... great video!
Thanks! Sad to see STW not even make it on Switch ☹️
I was always curious about STW ever since my friends and I started playing Battle Royal around 2019. I always thought about giving it a shot. Nice concise, well edited video
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!
6:20 you make a good point, but i really wonder why they would decide to do that to the game.
I know, right? 😅
Even the vindertech weapons had the “V” logo removed from them since they didn’t want too many players to realize that’s the same logo on the V-Bucks everyone cares about
I'm still on my first playthrough of save the world so far it is fun, but it is better with friends, and I hope one day Epic will finish it
The thing about stw is I noticed the zapatron was in the gamemode and I remember when it came out way back in ch1 until about a day later it got removed
I always forget about that. They should add it back to Battle Royale for funsies
So cool that you got one of those pins! I felt the same after beating canny valley. Justice for STW ✊
the removal of the daily login was to partially combat players that didnt actively play stw. they just login, get the rewards and switch over to br. i did miss out on the founders pack but looking back i probably wouldve not actually grinded through the game if i went that route. in its current state, its at the highest its been in player counts. before it was averaging around 15k-20k daily players on there. at think recently i saw it peak to 50k players. with a lot of the players hitting their max power level in this game now, idk if they will actually add anything. given that they added a brand new venture zone, they clearly been putting a lot of effort into the game with its already limited roster working on it. i just wished they actually used that effort into adding dialogue to the twine questline instead. i already completed the twine quests and just grinding out ventures when im not playing br. should be at power level 140 later this week. idk if i will keep on playing once i hit the max level. maybe for the br xp but all i can do is hope that during that time, they actually do something with it. as for the people that were hoping for it to go free to play, i will say that it wouldve not worked well at all. if anything it probably wouldve lost players given the state its been with the questlines. there would be 0 incentive to keep on playing it.
Ok Cool
I agree It wouldn’t really work being free to play in its current state. Epic would have to actually support the game and probably find new and creative ways to monetize it. I just want something for Twine Peaks 😭
STW is one of the funnest games I’ve ever played but it fell short because the devs make it fall short. Had they continued the story and added a climax to actually save the world it would have been one of the best games of modern times
The old graphics of Fortnite go so much harder imo season one graphics were crazy
I got save the world in 2018 when they drop the price and gotta say I enjoy it I still say save the world times to time more then Lego Fortnite or rocket racing because I thought Lego Fortnite was gonna be a BR game of legos but most people don’t wanna buy a game mode that Fortnite forgot about but 70K people play save the world back in og chapter 4 season 5 world
If they made it free to play like they said it might have gained enough traction for epic to keep updating it
back in season 6 chapter one around halloween i decided to buy stw so i could grind some vbucks to buy the halloween cosmetics but i didnt really understand stw so i quit actually playing it and just logged in for daily rewards then i forgot about it entirely until fortnite og season i remembered it and now ive been playing it daily
STW isn’t for everyone, but I think it’s so fun and had a lot of potential. I’m happy to hear you picked it back up!
I dont even play BR anymore, I only play Fortnite for Save The World, if they ever end up removing it then I'll quit without hesitation.
I hope this blows up, great video.
I appreciate it!
I think the loot pool and the overall colors was better in Fortnite OG but I like the bigger POI's and the bounty board and to an extent the NPC and all the finer details they added overtime that we have back in season five
Yeah I really like some things modern Fortnite has. I’m really enjoying Chapter 5! I’m just nostalgic for OG I guess 😅
2016 AND THEN JOSH HUTCHERSON LOL YOU MADE MY DAY
not sure if u read these old comments but the new game modes now(lego,rr and festival) are being out numbered by stw
It’s sad to see the state it’s in. At least I can still earn vbucks 🥲
Average Battle Royale fan: 🤓
Averae Save the World enjoyer: 🗿
2:41 lightning in a bottle
True!
Honestly, as upsetting as it is to see the game in its current state, I’m just thankful it still exists, and is getting SOME content. It could’ve gone the way of Paragon, yet we’re still getting new biomes, heroes, and weapons every so often. Hell, we even got a whole new mode last year (Which has my absolute favorite map of any mode in the game, and I hope that Epic makes a base game biome with those assets)
Of course I’d love for it to get the same attention the other modes do, but all things considered, I think things turned out fine enough
I have thousands of hours in this game and seeing it come to this state is so depressing
They funneled funds from a pre-order zombies survival game into a mediocre BR. That is what happened. They then mostly abandoned the original players, only dropping the bi-yearly new content with more than 2 seconds of effort in it.
Sad to say but yeah, pretty much what happened.
You forgot to mention they removed daily rewards which was a huge L and spit in the face for founders.
It would’ve made me too sad to mention 😭
@@CYCLONYTE so true aha. Also happy new year!
It was a W tbh i always got 150 vbucks but with the new up i get 2700 a month or more
I completely forgot about save the world and I played a little every once in a while. I got stuck at plankton because I was a brain dead child that didn’t notice there was a squad feature and I recently revisited it because I didn’t have enough vbucks for this season’s battle pass
I love the mode, ngl
Im not gonna lie I wouldnt have played were it not for the vbucks BUT I do think the mode is fun at times. The problem is that it's reeeallly grindy and even though they have made some changes over the years its still a hell of a grind. But I liked it enough to grind to the axehammer
Yeah there’s definitely a lot of grinding in the game. I can’t imagine the STW team is happy with the state it’s in
It is quite a sad piece of knowledge to know that save the world never got the recognition it deserved.
Since epic is forgetting it, I keep on making new concepts for STW to feel fresh again
You should work at Epic and “save” Save The World 👀
@@CYCLONYTE I would love to fr. It’s just fun to make up stuff and new things for us to do
My sibling was telling me about the hutcherson jump scares 😂 great video btw
Thanks!! I had to put it in somewhere! It felt like the perfect opportunity 😂
