Diana is truly amazing. Not only her unique voice, her spectacular talent & artistic intelligence, so remarkable at such a young age - at any age ! - but also her fantastic spirit & megawatt infectious smile. She has survived & overcome a lot in her short life. Reportedly being badly physically abused & neglected by her biological mother as an infant & discovered injured & abandoned in the streets aged 3. The woman watching her performance from the sidelines in the video is her adoptive mother. Her adoptive family, who've had a lot of financial challenges themselves, were obviously rich in love. They recognized her talent early & have sacrificed a lot to help Diana bloom both personally & artistically. Diana has had to deal with recent tragedy also, when her musical mentor & vocal coach - who I believe helped craft this particular performance - reportedly died of Covid late last year. Far from putting on a victim 'hat' (persona) however, Diana chooses to be a survivor - and not merely a survivor - but someone who commits 100% to creating her own new future. Igor Krutoy - who is a famous Russian Composer & entertainment entrepreneur (now composer for & mentor of Dimash ) was a Judge on this talent show - & is now I believe starting to also mentor Diana. Unafraid of branching out & trying new things - including singing in different languages - which she doesn't yet speak! ie: with her perfect ear; learning these phonetically ( I think I have that right... If not vocal coaches can correct me ) recently Diana has released a video clip of a much loved Arabic song; " Helwa Ya Baladi" which is all about yearning for one's homeland. This is currently taking off across the Arabic world where I'm sure she will develop a substantial fan base & methinks will stimulate demand for a lot more - so she may need to run to catch up with her success & learn that language too ! Regardless, we see her going from strength to strength & can only rejoice in her success.
She is so amazing that I keep asking myself, "How can she improve on that?" And then she does! She's 18 now and she keeps getting stronger. I don't think anybody knows her limits. She is my favorite singer in the world right now and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Only goddesses or angels get such a gift! AND, knowing how her childhood was (to read wikepedia) - a sorrowful, unspeakable childhood - maybe this gift is a compensation of nature.
