The moral of this story is to always follow your instinct. If you feel something is wrong, 90% of the time you're right. I think the reason why people cheat instead of breaking up is because of denial. They don't want to accept the fact that they are with another person even though they clearly are. So they start to hide things from their partner instead of just breaking up with them. Slowly as they get more confident the situation gets worse until they're finally caught.

My ex cheated on me. I met her when we were at an expo. She was an international student and was a freshman at the time, we both were. The relationship didn't even last long and I never set any expectations but it still hurt because it was my first. We met just weeks before class started and 2-3 months into the year I found out she cheated on me.
