I know right? I didnt know much about superlek until a few fights before superlek vs rodtang. Rodtang was one of my top lists. I heard he recovered from a car accident? When i saw the video post of that fight I was like, am i reading the title right? Rodtang really cut him up and gave superlek life altering blows. But 'Lek earned that win.

Superlek is my fav fighter but you can't whitewash the fact that the elbow missed and Rodtang twisted his ankle and slipped.

Superlek is a super star
I'm still a bit salty that Superlek didn't make weight. Rodtang accepted because Thai people need to get pay. It's not in their culture to back down from a fight nor to turn down payment. But something far greater was on the line. This was an all out war. The fiercest fight I ever saw.
Takeru should rematch with Superlek.
ONE should hire more Thai or Asian judges every fight the judges are from European countries
How would it matter or make a difference if they all follow the same rules?
Though I don't necessarily disagree I feel Asian judges tend to be more biased towards their own people compared to European judge's
even now you'll often read that the viewers are upset with the judges' decisions, because they feel that thais are being favored. having thai judges would only make this perception worse.

Any other fight that cut rodtang gave to superlek would've been a doctor stoppage. And the knockdown wasn't a genuine knockdown. Half the muay thai population agrees and the other half doesn't so it's best for a rematch eventually. Like superlek vs haggerty rematch only took 4-5 years so hopefully rodtang vs superlek can happen again and superlek makes weight this time. Anyway i got superlek ko'ing haggerty round 3 via elbow and possibly early stoppage again

Superlek is weak. Missed weight against Rodtang so Rodtang’s belt would be safe. Both never wanted this fight, but the outcry meant they couldn’t duck each other any more.
What’s the next option? Find a way to make sure the belt wouldn’t be up for grabs - by missing weight.
For those who don’t believe this, the simple question is - why move up in weight instead of a rematch to challenge for the belt? Especially since the decision was controversial. Answer: Because Superlek never wanted Rodtang’s belt to begin with. He just wanted the fight to be over and done with and never fight Rodtang or challenge for his belt ever again. It’s no different from the exhibition match between Saenchai and Buakaw. Quick pay day with no stakes involved.
Why take a fellow Thai’s belt when you can take the foreigner’s one? Oh, wanna bet if Superlek makes weight for the fight this time since he wants the belt? 🙃
