This was when she was so innocent. The music industry has ruined so many of these talented artists who are no longer with us. I just close my eyes and Whitney is still alive in my body, heart, soul and mind. I miss her so much! I’m going to watch ‘I wanna dance with somebody’ Immediately. Gone, but never forgotten Whitney ❤❤❤
Born 1990 and getting damn near 30 years old, I had no idea this girl was one of the most beautiful people to show their face to America until all too recently. Hate it that the story ends terribly. It’s hard to watch this video without falling in love.
She was breathtaking, so f*cking talented, and such a big deal, but so down to Earth, and so human. She let her life get the best of her, it's beyond tragic. Watching her go from her prime to her passing is so sad. She just got involved with the wrong people, and her addictions got to her before we could save her. I would give anything to hear this voice again, I still can't fully believe that she is gone forever. Her legacy lives on though, she left us with some of the best music and vocals ever.
Whitney was adorable in this. She and the dancers seem to be at ease and having fun. I like that they shot it all at the same set. Videos that have several sets are sometimes overwhelming.
Right? I don't keep up with celebs, but I know she got rough. Seeing her smile compared to that interview where she said she was fine but obviously wasn't. This brings me back to her beauty. Now I want to watch The Bodyguard.
She had such a great smile. It's sad at the same time though, seeing her so innocent and carefree and then knowing what she turned into. It's such a tragedy.
It breaks my heart to realize that she is gone. One of the sweetest, most innocence and contagious smiles and a superb voice, one of the best female vocals of all time, in my opinion. The angels are now enjoying your presence, princess!!!
Wow! We really do learn new things everyday. I was aware after watching the documentary that she had others write her music but wasn't aware this classic was offered to Mariah. Same bro I thought I was the only one who thought that I even tried to picture her as one like the rest but she’s different I respect her like she’s an auntie that I never met
You don't see her as a sex symbol because that's not how she presented herself to the world but she did have sex appeal which became more apparent in the early 90's.

You have a wonderful day; child of GOD!!! and remember that JESUS loves you!
Her style was so eclectic. More than R&B; more than Pop. She had her genre. Her music transcended color lines, gender identity and even sexual orientation. Truly in a class and a lane by herself.
My mom used blast Whitney Houston all the time. I never like her music growing up. Im 33 now. And I'll can think is just how Angelic her voice is and how sad it is she's gone. I haven't listened to her music in 27 years. She was something different.
Henry yeah, but a lot of music was stolen from black and etc. mtv wouldn’t even put black acts on their network until Michael Jackson. Their were still a lot of racial barrier. Stop gaslighting.
@@zairesyoutube STFU FOOL, if you were there you would know, MTV played black artist right from the first air date. MJ was the first male to get placed in heavy rotation March 1983, certainly not even close to being the first male played. Donna Summer was the first female placed in heavy rotation in August 1983. Whitney first video to get heavy rotation was in January 1986, she had nothing to do with breaking any barriers down.
@Henry Yeah they were making great music before then, but that does not at all reflect how they were treated behind the scenes. They were given AWFUL contracts, they were forced to go in through the backdoors of venues and hotels, and they were generally treated as if they had less value than others. That's literally just the beginning of the tip of the iceberg. That's why a lot of the soul singers of the 60s and 70s, who wrote some of the most foundational songs of our time, ended up passing away with no money.
@@kmohammed100 , you can call her anything but you cannot call her BROKE. She made her mark in music, we are talking music. Her drug use doesnt take her title away. Such great delivery! She is elegant and grown-up, but conveys the giddiness of new love that can make you feel like a kid again. Which makes total sense, because this can happen to people at any age.
In 1985 Whitney Houston released one of the greatest pieces of art in human history. The album contained this song, was nominated to Album of the Year and it is simply called "Whitney Houston". The greatest Love of All, is such a timeless classic, a song that breaks all boundaries, since it's a song that reaches to everyone, and can be felt by everybody. A song about not finding love in others, but finding love in ourselves.
This song’s structure is so cool. The first verse is followed by a pre-chorus, then the chorus which has the same harmony as the verse, then there’s the “if he loves me” section that sets up the awesome sax solo and a downward key change(!) Such a rockin’ tune!
@IsaiahJoel-oh3re That's such a bizarre comment. There were numerous guitar greats before Eddie Van Halen, and phenomenal use of sax in countless songs and styles in history including Seely Dan, Billy Joel, Blood Sweat and Tears, and countless others.
I'm an 80s baby. Whitney was one of the pop princesses of the 80s. "How Will I Know" was one of my favorites. The song and the music video. I had the 45 seven inch vinyl single. I used to think the lyrics were "I'm asking you 'cause you know about bee stings." Only when I got older did I realize that lyric was "these things". And here I thought Whitney was singing about the dangers of anaphylaxis.
This was the first video that introduced me to this INCREDIBLE talent called Whitney Houston!!! I was a young girl then.. but I remember saying to myself, "WHO IS THAT?!" I knew she was destined for GREATNESS! I wanted to sing like her...she became my musical inspiration. She was "THE VOICE!!!" In her prime, NOBODY could touch her! Rest on, Whitney. Your voice, music and gift continues to ASTONISH!!!
In defense for singers now. Their are great singers now ariana, gaga, pink, etc I blame song writing and new generation that now listens for beats and not vocals, they look for props instead of pure music
I’m a musical theatre kid and recently did a show with a lot of Whitney songs in it, I’m so glad they were in the show, her songs are so full of life and so enjoyable to sing and dance to I wish I could do it all again!

@@vandrosia Same with her daughter, both tragic deaths. Whitney was an amazing performer, if she was sober for her whole career, she could have been even bigger.
@@shutterbug_713 she never said you had to offer her a second chance, she never said she was a victim of circumstance. That goes a long way. Born 1990 and getting damn near 30 years old, I had no idea this girl was one of the most beautiful people to show their face to America until all too recently. Hate it that the story ends terribly. It’s hard to watch this video without falling in love.
R Jonas i was born 1980 of October this is my music
She was breathtaking, so f*cking talented, and such a big deal, but so down to Earth, and so human. She let her life get the best of her, it's beyond tragic. Watching her go from her prime to her passing is so sad. She just got involved with the wrong people, and her addictions got to her before we could save her. I would give anything to hear this voice again, I still can't fully believe that she is gone forever. Her legacy lives on though, she left us with some of the best music and vocals ever.
I am sure that if She didn't meet Her husband, She would still be with us.
"woman" not girl
R Jonas dude I totally fell in love with her the 1st time I laid eyes on her here !!! Had a lil sides stomach turning 🤣
Whitney was adorable in this. She and the dancers seem to be at ease and having fun. I like that they shot it all at the same set. Videos that have several sets are sometimes overwhelming.
No matter my mood, this video and seeing Whitney happy makes me happy. The innocence is intoxicating.

She and MJ broke down the racial barriers throughout MTV in the 80's. Such sadness that both died before their own parents.
And Janet!
@@jubbadupa Black jazz, Swing, and Big Band artists were huge even going back to the 20s.

+darkdevil905 So true
Only Whitney can cover songs and made it top the chart as it's her own songs. Truly The Voice.
This song’s structure is so cool. The first verse is followed by a pre-chorus, then the chorus which has the same harmony as the verse, then there’s the “if he loves me” section that sets up the awesome sax solo and a downward key change(!) Such a rockin’ tune!
And the sax man also doing contemporary dance!
