I had a dear, dear friend that used to love the butterscotch lollipops. We would get them at the mall during Christmas shopping. She has since passed away, but this video made me think of her and smile. Thank you for the memory!
Fun Fact: My friend lives in Mary Sees house in San Luis Obispo, CA. Unfortunately, the house has since been remodeled, but we used to sit in the kitchen before the remodel and wonder how much candy was made in there.
When I was little, my Grandma always came to visit for Christmas and she always came with two boxes of See's Candies. Once my Siblings and I were older, she started to visit our Cousins for Christmas (since the two of them were still just kids). During those last couple of years, she would send See's Gift Vouchers to my Mom... One day, about a year and a half after my Grandma passed away, I found my Mom sitting on the foot of her bed crying. I asked what happened, but she said she was fine, before getting up to finish folding laundry. The next day I heard her talking with my Dad about how she had found the See's Vouchers at the back of her sock drawer, after she thought she had thrown them away on accident. She told him that she wasn't sure if she should use them or keep them... A little over a month later she came home with two Boxes of See's candies. We were all aloud one chocolate a night until they were gone. I swear, See's Chocolate never lasted so long in our house, but it was so worth it. *
Husband was playing "guess that candy" and could name almost all of them before you cut them open. Each one has a different pattern or swirl on the top to tell them apart so though they may look a similar size or shape Sees employees can tell the candies apart just by looking at the pattern on top. We kept waiting for my absolute favorite "Butterscotch Squares" as we saw one when you opened the box... you finally found it @15:30 when you both melted and you did that swirl effect on the video. The soft , brown-sugary one. it is the favourite of all our family. I am blessed with a box of Butterscotch squares on each holiday as a gift from my husband (he spoils me so) See's used to be only available in Southern California and while there are a few stores in some of the other western states, the majority of stores are in California so you will have to visit the Los Angeles or San Francisco areas to easily find a store.. They have not changed the branding since it was opened in 1921. The classic black & white checkerboard and having your box hand packed and wrapped in paper is their signature. Go on their website and find their timeline. It is a fun read.
No way!!!! This is what I like to hear 😂That is so awesome he could guess pretty much all of them! Ahh we loved the Butterscoth Square soo much 😍 I love that they haven't changed the branding! I will check that out, thank you 😀
My uncle buys 5 pounds of the See's butterscotch lollipops at a time to give to people. He drives a semi truck ( what you guys call a lorry) up and down the west coast of the US.
The dark filled one with sprinkles is the Bordeaux. At Easter they make a 6oz Easter egg solid Bordeaux. I used to get one in my basket every year. See's also makes a chocolate covered marzipan that is to die for. The toffee is great, and they make something called maple sticks. Thin crunchy maple sheets covered in chocolate. The lollipops are amazing 4 times a year they do special flavors. Orange/vanilla, orange/chocolate, coffee cream, cherry cream and caramel apple. So delicious.
OH WOW!!! I bet that is a big seller at Easter 😍 How exciting. Those maple sticks sound amazing. Mmm what a great idea doing the different flavours of those lollipops
Yum! That’s one of my favorites too! 😋 that one, the lemon filled white chocolate one, and the polar bear paw one I think it’s called... it’s white chocolate with nuts and caramel... so good!
1. Molasses chips 2. California brittle 3.milk Bordeaux 4. Vanilla nut cream 5. Cashew brittle 6.almond clusters 7.mocha 8. Peanut squares 9.kona mocha 10. Apricot delight 11. Run nougat 12. My favorite is thier dark butterchews which is a carmeal and their dark chocolate buttercream but the number one most seller is the third ones you guys tried a milk Bordeaux. I used to not like chocolate until I worked at sees candies and I'm addicted nothing else is the same. ❤
Thank you so much for taking the time to write that out!! So nice to put the proper names to the chocolates! That is so awesome you work at See's Candies and lovely to hear they are a great company to work for. So interesting hearing what their top seller is. I'm not surprised as that Milk Bordeaux was amazing. Haha love that!!! 😂
Sooo many people in the comments say that is their FAV ! I am not a huge marshmallow fan, but now I have to try them ! Blessings from Orange County California. ❤️🤍💙
I just ordered your tea box for my sister who had brain surgery two weeks ago, she's starting to feel better and wanting to eat so I thought one of your boxes would be the perfect 'pick me up'! Greetings from South River, Ontario, Canada.....if you're ever over here (Alex especially) although we have a population of 1000, we actually have a craft brewery! 'Highlander Brew Co.'
Hello kids. I grew up in Los Angeles area. My great aunts used to bring boxes of See's Candies at Christmas time. For me, my favorite has always been milk chocolate Bordeaux. What an unusual and amazing flavor. Next up, is the molasses chips. Ay yi yi! So good!
Finally! FYI, See’s also makes a soft center box of chocolate’s my favorite because I’m not a fan of nutty chocolate. See’s gives you the best of both world’s Assorted and Soft Center boxes. The store’s also always gives out samples of full price’s of chocolate when you come in to buy a box of candy. And during Christmas the boxes are wrapped in Christmas paper. You can also make your own boxes and pick out you favorite candy’s. Can’t say enough about this wonderful company. Yummy 😋!
I know right!!! So excited!! Oh wow the soft centre box sounds amazing!!! 😍 That is so cool. I have heard they love giving out free samples!! I can't wait to visit!
You get a free sample for just walking in the store. You don't even have to buy anything! And if you don't like the sample they're passing out, you can ask for what you want!
white chocolate key lime pie truffles are my favorites from them. ihavent had any in years because i use to get them right from their shops in California (See's was a Cali. candy shop). and they were all hand made.
I feel like I am out of the loop ( as they say) I have never heard of Sees chocolates? I live in Lancaster,Pa. Maybe i just never seen them in our stores, but even growing up I don't think I ever had or heard of them? I will have to check their website and see if they sell it in Pa. I would be so sick after eating all of those sweets!WOW!! Alex looked like he was having fun with the cute toy you were sent! LOL!! Hope you guys have an awesome weekend ahead!! Hugs from Lancaster,Pa.🙏💓🙏💓
So happy you finally were able to have some Sees! Being from CA we would choose nothing else! Your favorites were called molasses chips and butterscotch squares! You really must go into a shop to experience all they have to offer!! They are truly amazing! The eggs and raspberry, lemon truffles only come out at Easter!
I LOVE See's. I actually have a box being delivered today so perfect timing because I don't have to be jealous watching you :) See's was founded in 1921. The one you thought was the nougat is the Chelsea and the chocolate one that Alex thought was "like chocolate icing" is a chocolate buttercream, those are divine! When you eat See's a lot, you start to know what they are just by looking at them lol.
Oh wow!! That's such perfect timing! Which box did you buy? Very jealous now. Enjoy them 😋 Those two were amazing! Thank you for telling us the names 😍 Haha love that!! I'm like that with a lot of chocolate here in the UK 😆
@@ThisWithThem I am glad I could help. It probably gives you an insight on how much I love chocolate lol. For my box I picked out my own pieces. They have preboxed boxes or you can pick and choose which ones you want which is what I did. Have you tried Godiva yet? It is WAY more pricey than Sees. Usually you will find a Sees and a Godiva in the malls. Godiva is more of a "luxurious" brand but I honestly prefer See's. I love watching you guys, even though you make me hungry :)
Mary Cook I never get Godiva honestly but I have had it a few times. Sadly the last two Sees candy boxes I got as gifts were old. I was really disappointed because I’ve been eating Sees my whole life. However, I contacted Sees and they sent me a fresh new box both times so they have amazing customer service!
Karen 🐣 Wow , that is SWEET service ! I have been given gift boxes, and I don’t like dark chocolate. So you sign a form at the shoppe and they give you a credit towards what you want instead. 🦉
The round milk chocolate one with chocolate sprinkles is Bordeaux, it's my absolute favorite and the only candy I request every year for Mother's Day and Christmas. I also make it at home. 1 cup Brown Sugar 1/2 cup Butter 1/4 cup heavy Whipping cream 1/2 tsp. Instant coffee crystals, crushed 1 pinch Salt 2 cup sifted Powder sugar Melt brown sugar and butter in a heavy sauce pan, bring to a boil for 2 minutes. Sir in cream, coffee and salt, bring to a boil stirring constantly for 30 seconds and remove from heat. let cool 10 minutes Add powder sugar and stir well. Chill until the mixture holds its shape when rolled into 1/2 inch balls. To cover the candy: 12 oz package Milk chocolate chips ( or Dark chocolate or Semi Sweet) 2 Tbl. Crisco shortening Melt together in a double boiler. Skewer a candy ball with a toothpick and pour chocolate over the candy using a spoon, lift out and set on wax paper, if you have 'sprinkles' add them now. Tips: If the chocolate does not stick well to the candy balls it's probably because the balls are too cold, just let them warm up slightly. For the double boiler, I just use a sauce pan and a heat proof glass bowl that can sit half in, half out of the water. If water does get into the chocolate, it will 'seize up'. Just mix a little more shortening into the chocolate. IT'S ALWAYS A TREAT TO WATCH YOUR CHANNEL!!!
This is the most exciting video of yours, I LOVE Sees over any other chocolate I’ve ever tried! I always get their soft centers variety box, The Milk Chocolate Bordeaux (round piece with the sprinkles) is my favorite! 😋
Growing up in California I always had sees candies, especially around the holidays. My favorites are Bordeaux, butter chew (that was the grainy one you guys loved), scotch mallow (I wish you guys got one of these its like the Russell Stovers but a million times better), and the walnut square (That was the one Alex described as earthy and you thought it was cashew. I enjoy many of the others, but these are my top. Also when I was a kid they had a peanut butter lollipop that was amazing, but its no longer made. Now my favorite is the butterscotch.
The video is called 5 types of readers and I also like your videos they are so good and funny. If you have checked out the video then please comment on the video.
Great seeing you all try a "premium" brand. When submissions are open again, would LOVE to send you all a box of premium brand chocolates that my family's candy store used to carry.
In recent years, around the holidays, See's has been setting up kiosks in airports around the country. That is the only time you can find it outside of California & some westerly states. My favorite is the California Brittle, with dark chocolate. If I buy a box assortment, I go for the Nuts & Chews assortment, either milk or dark chocolate.
They actually have See’s in most states now. There’s a store inside most Nebraska Furniture Marts which are all based in the Midwest and then in big cities like Chicago and New York you can find them too.
💝 Thank you Liz for such an amazing box ! I was raised on See’s Candy. Never went with my mom to the Mall without getting a fudge filling with walnuts and milk chocolate covered. And I am so old the suckers were three for ten cents ! I think they are now ninety cents each. Blessings from California. 🎅🏼💝🐰
I work at a doctors office and every Christmas we receive multiple boxes of See's Candy. Its amazing. Growing up I would always get the lollipops (didnt matter the flavor), both full size and mini. It was always a nice treat.
See's candy was started in Los Angles Ca. The candy is still produced in Los Angles. We live about 50 miles from down town LA. It was fun watching you eat and trying to decide what was what. My favorites are the dark covered nuts. My wife will only eat the Butter Scotch Squares. She was happy to see you melt when you tried it. Glad you enjoyed a treat from Southern California.
ULKER makes a chocolate hazelnut bar called HOBBY with a purple-ish wrapper design and back in Iran it was super popular and was my favourite chocolate bar along with another turkish chocolate bar called METRO that was a rip off of Mars and Snickers and I recommend you try both if you have the chance. I tried metro again years later a few months ago and compared it with a mars bar and metro is a lot better in my opinion.
See’s is the best! I always get a dark chocolate marzipan, milk Bordeaux, peanut butter patties, California brittle and butterchews. But honestly everything I’ve tried has been amazing.
Scotchmallow is fantastic! My girlfriend hates anything marshmallow, but I got her a scotchmallow once and she was in shock how delicious it is. It's now her favorite candy from See's Candies 👌
Someone must have already told you, Kate and Alex , but you can get boxes of -just- the Molasses Chips. The Scotchmallows are one of my absolute favorites, even though I usually hate marshmallow! I also ADORE their lollies. Kettle Backyard Barbeque chips are my crack, so I don't buy them often (because I can't without wanting the entire bag...)! Can you believe they also have a Korean BBQ flavor?
That is so awesome. I think I would definitely pick up a whole box of those 😍 I really must try their scotchmallows🤤🤤 oh wow I didn’t know that! Not tried those ones yet!
We get Sees chocolate s in Florida at Christmas time they set up portable stands in the malls , since it’s from San Francisco we buy once a year but sometimes special shoppes will sell year around
SOOOOOOOOO good! You HAVE to try their peanut brittle if you like that kind of thing- best EVER! We get a custom box of chocolates every Christmas along with peanut brittle- its a family tradition. It is impossible to pick a favorite LOL! But I think the caramels are up there. I think you can only find them on the West Coast- its a California company. We live on the East Coast and have to order them. So happy you tasted this!!
Oh my gosh, this was delightful! Such fun watching someone try something for the first time, when you already know how good it is. When I was a little girl, back in the sixties, we would visit my grandmother in Ventura, California during the holidays, and she always had a box of See’s. We were allowed to choose one and it was hard because we didn’t know what was inside, but always a special treat. Years later, after I got a real job, one Christmas I bought a box and took a little bite out of each candy just because I could, lol. Do visit a shop on your next visit, you’ll love it! And they give you a free sample😉
The thin long ones you first tried are molasses chips, you can buy a whole box of those, which I always do at Christmas. However my favorite is not in your box, and it is not chocolate, it’s the scotch kiss. Chewy butterscotch wrapped around marshmallow. Omg, they are divine. The lollipops remind me of Easter. My mom would every get every flavor, wrap them with a colorful bow, and put them in our Easter Baskets. Sees candy, brings back so many lovely family memories.❤️
Love your tshirt Kate. Where’s it from if you don’t mind me asking. Also all through the video I was thinking about the sour mike and ikes. Would love to try those
You need to try Fannie May chocolate's from Chicago. Pixies are my favorite closely followed by the Buckeyes and Mint Melt Aways. And yes, I know that Fannie has a completely different meaning in British English, but I'm not talking about that, haha!
I’ve just googled the pixies. They look insane 😍😍😍 I feel like we tried buckeyes. I’m not sure if they were Fannie Mays though. Hopefully we can try some soon as they all look amazing. Hahaha 😂😂😂
I love Sees candy my aunt lived in California and at one point they had it only in California. When she came to visit she would bring assorted suckers and I loved them!
You mentioned Sugar Daddy and Sugar Baby. Have you had a Sugar Mama? I haven't seen them since I was a kid, 40 years ago. It is a Sugar Daddy covered in chocolate. Yumm
Sugar daddies, baby daddies. 😆 😆 I'm dead! I think you meant sugar babies. 😆 Great video. See's candy is very good. I can only seem to find it in NC at Christmas. We have Cheerwine in the south which is cherry soda with a little cola whereas cheery coke is coke with a hint of cherry. I prefer the Cheerwine. Have a good one and be safe.
I lol 😂. Can anyone count how many times Alex said umm and yum 😋? Kate as well 😊. Liz sent a great box and toys to entertain you both 😂. I’m on a diet, so this was really hard to watch without candy 🍬. But, as always it brought a smile 😃 to my face. Well done 👍👏💕
@@ThisWithThem We miss out on a lot of stuff here basically because there's only 2 dozen people here in an ocean of corn and beans. I wouldn't change a thing.
Milk & Dark Bordeaux, and Caramel are the most popular flavors. The Bordeaux are the round with chocolate sprinkles. Our family at Christmas time now makes our own chocolates and we make a Bordeaux cream and Caramel as well and they are the most favorite of the people we give them too.
I live in Southeast Georgia in the United States and I have never heard of See’s candy. But I enjoy watching y’all try all these different things and especially the WTF series!! 👍🏻
My favorite are raspberry creme which is with dark chocolate, dark cherry which just has a maraschino cherry inside, scotchmallow that has half marshmallow and half caramel, dark pecan bud which is like a turtle but with dark chocolate. See's always reminds me of Christmas 💕
I received a book about See’s (Famous Old Time Candies) when we were invited to a couple of new store openings. And a LOT of free candy. There is a section about the customized Harley Davidson motorcycle like your model toy . In 1928 , a messenger in a snappy uniform would ring your doorbell with your candies in hand . The cute little cottage with lace curtains would turn heads as Hugh Fry would cruise down Pico or Santa Monica Blvd. And it looked impressive parked at the curb as Hugh strode to the door of a lucky starlet’s bungalow carrying a red velvet, heart shaped box of See’s homemade chocolates. 💝 It adds that when Charles See went to Europe to buy equipment, he saw deliveries made by motorcycles with sidecars . Also they said originally the bikes were Indians , not Harleys . I am so happy that you both got to try See’s !! 👑
Any of the chocolates are delicious. I love anything caramel! The suckers are divine, The make mini bites of the suckers and I can eat a whole box! I love how Kate squirrels away the ones she likes!
The See's that you loved so much that you melted into the table is a butterscotch square. My favorite. I remember the first time I had See's chocolates. My sister was away at college and her roommate was from California. She came to stay with us and brought a box. This was almost 60 years ago and I can still remember that first bite. Yum!!!
Yay I made it I'm first I moved on Monday and got my wifi sorted today! I am busy eating chocolate with you (Milo Bar which is sadly being discontinued by Nestlé SA in August)
Yaaay!!! And you were first!!! How was your move? So pleased you managed to get your wifi sorted!! Enjoy eating with us! Ahh that's such a shame. I hate it when they do that!
@@ThisWithThem I actually drove to the store today saying I cant miss you guys... The move was flawless 1 load its only 8km away from the old place. Alot getting used to as I was living on my own for 5 years now I am back at my mom's, with my sister, and we don't see eye to eye. I am up for this new chapter in my life. I was retrenched due to Covid 19 and the unemployment isn't paying out as they should so lots of changes. Job hunting is no joke on these times! But I'm trying to stay positive. RE Nestlé :They decided to axe some favorites White chocolate Smartie Slab Milo Slab Peppermint Crisp slab Chocolate Log after 50 years! (don't know if you got one in the SA Box) Barone with peanuts (not a shame though)
My favorites are the Rum Nougat and all of the ones with the sprinkles! I'll sometimes get a custom one pound box of just those!! Also, you only got one of the 4 lollipops! The coffee and chocolate ones are my favorites.
We love seeing the See’s candy truck parked in town during the holidays! We try to stock up- we love the Nuts & Chews 2# box AND my absolute favorite is the suckers- they are Grown Up Lollipops😂 Glad you enjoyed! Oh, and when you enter a See’s store, then smell is heavenly!! I miss that, as we no longer have a store near us.
That’s so awesome the have a truck!! Yes they are definitely grown up lollipops 😂 I would definitely stock up like you do. I can’t wait to visit a store 😍
My go to box is the nuts and chews. So good! My husband buys them for me every Valentine's Day. If you go into a store, you can customize your box so everyone can be different. 😁😍
My favorite of all candy. My grandad used to get us a big box every Xmas. I got excited when you opened the box lol. You tried my favorite one first. Their Easter filled eggs are so wonderful as well. The coconut creme is my fav Easter egg.
I am so happy you finally got to taste See's Candy. My favorites are California Brittle, Polar Bear Paws, Pineapple Truffle & Molasses Chips (the first candy you tried.) My neighbor worked at See's Candy in L.A. and she had an I love Lucy moment on the candy line.
When I get See's candies, I always get the dark flavors and rarely the milk chocolate. My favorite are the dark butterchew, the kona mocha and the raspberry truffle.
once again another excellent tasting video. i remember when i was a kid, i used to get a pack of cola cubes and suck on them for ages. love the taste of cola. liz has sent you such an amazing box. all those chocolates looked so delicious.
Love See’s Candies. Dark chocolate are my favorites. They still wear these old fashion white uniforms in the shops. Hats and all. The really do have great chocolate. Glad you finally got to enjoy some.
That is so cool they still wear those uniforms!! I love when brands keep things very traditional to how it started. Thank you Dawn, so pleased we finally tried them!
I know See's was a around in the mid 80's as I had them as a kid! I also wish we had them here out on the East Coast and, I think they are a West Coast company. I seriously need to find a friend who will get them for me and send them!!! I remember them being delicious as a kid!!!
Finally! Been waiting forever for the Sees to arrive. As you guys were tasting, I could actually taste the flavor in my mouth. I have been eating these chocolates for 45 years....and, BTW, I have NEVER seen anyone eat an entire box of Sees at one sitting. Hahahaaa. My favorites are molasses chips (first thing you ate), Scotchmallow (Thats caramel with marshmallow), toffee, the rum nougat, caramels, the apricot one. I love the suckers! Kate, you DON’T bite the lolly. 🍭 you suck it. You are gonna break your teeth. Hahaha. FYI, the lollies come in chocolate, butterscotch, vanilla, latte
Yaaay 😀 it’s finally here. Hope it was worth the wait! I love that you could actually taste it with us!! That shows you’re a pro and really know the flavours!! Haha I felt so bad for doing that but we had to do it for you guys 😆😆the Scotchmallow sound INSANE!! Haha I wouldn’t usually but really wanted to get the flavour! 🙈 mmm I reckon I would really like the vanilla one
This With Them You two have to go to a Sees Candy store and pick out your own assortment. That’s the best. Oh, and Kate, they give you a free piece of candy just for walking in 😉😘 🍬
In See's candy shops in the US, there's usually a back wall with about 20 different boxes of chocolates to choose from and then about 30 or so individual chocolates behind a glass counter that you can pick and choose what you want. They usually have a particular one each day they give out a free sample of.
When I was a little girl, my mother would fill our Easter baskets with See's Candy! She would also buy us a huge chocolate and fudge See's Candy Easter Egg that was the size of your fist. You can find a See's Candy in quite a few shopping malls. I would always stop by one to get a few pieces of the white chocolate California Crunch (the one you really liked) and pick up my free sample as well!
I loved your video :) Didnt you try Sees candy with your mom a while ago ? Hopefully this Tornado warning isnt serious and Ill survive !!!!! :) Thanks for the awesome video :)

That is so awesome you work at See's Candies and lovely to hear they are a great company to work for. So interesting hearing what their top seller is. I'm not surprised as that Milk Bordeaux was amazing. Haha love that!!! 😂
I love see's!!! It is my favorite. My husband goes on valentines day and for my birthday. Scotch mellows are my favorite.
Hey!! That is so lovely of you! I hope she loves it and makes her smile. Wishing her a speedy recovery 💗
Oh cool! Alex would love that 🍺
Sees candy is a holiday family tradition! My grandma got for us, my mom for my daughter and me for my grandson! It's based here in Los Angeles...
Love this
Hello kids. I grew up in Los Angeles area. My great aunts used to bring boxes of See's Candies at Christmas time. For me, my favorite has always been milk chocolate Bordeaux. What an unusual and amazing flavor. Next up, is the molasses chips. Ay yi yi! So good!
That must have been amazing getting those at Christmas time 😍 that ones a good choice 👌🏻
Woah. What an awesome flavour. You'll have to get yourself some to enjoy 😋
I’m sad cause I just finished my last Sees Butterscotch lollipop ... still have a 2 pound variety box to work through 😂
Hahaha, you too, huh? 🤤
Ahh no!! At least you have the 2 pound box to go!! Very very jealous haha 😍
Roberta Dunn I think Hershey’s had the legislature pass a law banning See’s in PA. ;-)
@@ronsrox 😂😂 maybe you are right!! LOL!!
Us too!! Thank you for letting us know those names. Will definitely be getting more of those. Very delicious 😋
Hi Kate and Alex
From Finland Helsinki 🇫🇮
I love 🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋, ☕☕☕☕☕
Hey Helena 😀😀
I love y’all
We love you too ❤️
I’ll have a box of California crunch please. It’s all I ever get when I go.😎
Watching you eat a whole box of "Sees" now I want a box for myself. Hugs and blessings
Karen To me See’s tastes fresher than Godiva. I feel like it is because Godiva is so pricey they stay on the displays longer. 💝
No one:
Kate: “I enjoy the sugar daddies and the baby daddies”
Me: 😂😂😂😭 “Sugar babies”
😂😂😂 oops 😂😂😂
Yaaaaaaaaaaay!!! I've been waiting for this one!!! Excited!
Yaaaay enjoy 😀😀
Grainy textured one is my mom's favorite..... butterscotch square
The round milk chocolate one with chocolate sprinkles is Bordeaux, it's my absolute favorite and the only candy I request every year for Mother's Day and Christmas. I also make it at home.
1 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Butter
1/4 cup heavy Whipping cream
1/2 tsp. Instant coffee crystals, crushed
1 pinch Salt
2 cup sifted Powder sugar
Melt brown sugar and butter in a heavy sauce pan, bring to a boil for 2 minutes.
Sir in cream, coffee and salt, bring to a boil stirring constantly for 30 seconds and remove from heat. let cool 10 minutes
Add powder sugar and stir well. Chill until the mixture holds its shape when rolled into 1/2 inch balls.
To cover the candy:
12 oz package Milk chocolate chips ( or Dark chocolate or Semi Sweet)
2 Tbl. Crisco shortening
Melt together in a double boiler.
Skewer a candy ball with a toothpick and pour chocolate over the candy using a spoon, lift out and
set on wax paper, if you have 'sprinkles' add them now.
Tips:
If the chocolate does not stick well to the candy balls it's probably because the balls are too cold, just let them warm up slightly.
Wow thank you so much for that recipe Donna!! Sounds amazing, I will have to make them 😋So nice to hear you enjoy our videos 💗
This is the most exciting video of yours, I LOVE Sees over any other chocolate I’ve ever tried! I always get their soft centers variety box, The Milk Chocolate Bordeaux (round piece with the sprinkles) is my favorite! 😋
Yaaay! Those soft centres sound so good 😍
I love you so much, Kate. Keep that positive energy up, sweetie.
Thank you Byron! Love to you too
Growing up in California I always had sees candies, especially around the holidays.
That scotchmallow one sounds insane!!!
The video is called 5 types of readers and I also like your videos they are so good and funny. If you have checked out the video then please comment on the video.
Great seeing you all try a "premium" brand. When submissions are open again, would LOVE to send you all a box of premium brand chocolates that my family's candy store used to carry.
Thanks Melissa! That’s very kind of you.
Amazing!!
They actually have See’s in most states now. There’s a store inside most Nebraska Furniture Marts which are all based in the Midwest and then in big cities like Chicago and New York you can find them too.
Now I feel like I need to go and by myself a box of See’s candy! Seen it so many times in the mall and never bought any! 😱
No way!! You have to try some next time, so worth it
💝 Thank you Liz for such an amazing box ! I was raised on See’s Candy. Never went with my mom to the Mall without getting a fudge filling with walnuts and milk chocolate covered. And I am so old the suckers were three for ten cents ! I think they are now ninety cents each. Blessings from California. 🎅🏼💝🐰
Liz is amazing! That's so cool you grew up with them!! So lucky you got them while at the mall 😍Wow! What a great price for 3!
So pleased you enjoyed watching us guessing 😋 that’s so cool you love so close to DT LA. Hehe we loved the butter scotch squares 😍
Why does all you’re vids make me so hungry! Love love love you guys!!! ❤️
Haha sorry Gemma! Eat along with us next time 😀♥️♥️ love to you too
Also would appreciate if you could share my latest video please.
See’s is the best! I always get a dark chocolate marzipan, milk Bordeaux, peanut butter patties, California brittle and butterchews. But honestly everything I’ve tried has been amazing.
It really is! I understand now what everyone was going on about haha 😍That sounds like a great order 👌🏻
I love Scotchmallow , not sure it was in your box. But it is marshmallow, Carmel covered in milk chocolate. Also Milk Chocolate Nougat and Rum Raisin.
Scotchmallow is fantastic! My girlfriend hates anything marshmallow, but I got her a scotchmallow once and she was in shock how delicious it is. It's now her favorite candy from See's Candies 👌
WOW!!!! i think i would very much like a Scotchmallow! 😍That sounds insane!
@@05gtdriver Love that! That's why it's always worth giving everything a go!
No See's around me. I am jealous I want to try some.
Wintergreen is an plant. It isn't a mint but has sirt of a minty flavor.
We get Sees chocolate s in Florida at Christmas time they set up portable stands in the malls , since it’s from San Francisco we buy once a year but sometimes special shoppes will sell year around
So awesome they set up those stands!
Sounds amazing. Alex would love that!! Love your family tradition! So awesome you can get them delivered though!!
Amazing!! Love that you can get a whole box of those! Wow I would love that! 😍😍 that is amazing. What lovely family memories ♥️ thank you for sharing
Love your tshirt Kate. Where’s it from if you don’t mind me asking. Also all through the video I was thinking about the sour mike and ikes. Would love to try those
Thank you Megan! It was actually from Zara men! Those were really great 😍
You need to try Fannie May chocolate's from Chicago.
Hahaha 😂😂😂
Another amazing video. So jealous that you can try all the nice thing. Still like watching you though. Have a lovely weekend. X
Thank you Diana! So pleased you enjoy watching. Hope you have a lovely weekend too! X
I love Sees candy my aunt lived in California and at one point they had it only in California. When she came to visit she would bring assorted suckers and I loved them!
Amazing!!
I love see's candies. We used to always get their lolly pops in our stockings at Christmas when I was growing up.
Love that!!
We just got a tornado warning here as im watching your video !!!!! That spring time sees candies box reminds me of peeps boxes lol
No way! I hope everything’s okay and you stay safe! Yes that’s so true
See’s Candy is the best chocolate in the United States in my opinion.
You mentioned Sugar Daddy and Sugar Baby. Have you had a Sugar Mama? I haven't seen them since I was a kid, 40 years ago. It is a Sugar Daddy covered in chocolate. Yumm
No I don’t think we have! Oh wow. How delicious 😋
I couldn't help but order a pick-your-pound box at See's website as I was watching the video, can't wait to grab em after work. Curbside pickup ftw!
So jealous 😍😍😍 enjoy them!!
Hahaha yes that was what I meant 😂😂 ah yes. I remember hearing about cheerwine! Thank you Brandon! You too 🥰
Ahaha 😂 and me saying oh my word haha. Sorry to tempt you while you’re being good! Glad we could still make you smile though 🥰💕💕
Did you know See’s was bought in 1972 by Warren Buffett’s corporation.
No we didn’t! Wish I could buy it 😆
Scotchmellow is the best Sees candy
So many have mentioned the scotchmellow. Can’t wait to try it one day 😍
bless you and your Chocolate High lol!
Haha 😆
Being from Iowa, we don't have a See's candy store. Illinois does. I looked them up online, It's too hot for them to ship most of their product.
That's a shame you don't have one in Iowa! Yeah I bet. Maybe during autumn/winter?
@@ThisWithThem We miss out on a lot of stuff here basically because there's only 2 dozen people here in an ocean of corn and beans. I wouldn't change a thing.
Just an FYI that during the warm months SEE's ships their chocolate products with long ice packs.
@@emsparamedic5183 Yeah, I did see that on their site, but I thought the extra cost was prohibitive. Cheers!
Do you have a Nebraska Furniture Mart near you? They sell Sees there.
Their Victoria toffee is only available around Christmas. We have to stock up.
I’m not surprised as those ones are delicious 😋 wow what a great idea!!
I live in Southeast Georgia in the United States and I have never heard of See’s candy. But I enjoy watching y’all try all these different things and especially the WTF series!! 👍🏻
No way! You’ll have to try find a Sees and try some. So so delicious 😋 glad you still enjoyed watching though 🥰
Christina Powell you need to order yourself a box- they are literally the best chocolates in the US!
My favorite See's are rum nougat, butterscotch square, divinity puff, marzipan. At Easter the large rocky road choc egg.
Oh wow to the rocky road choc egg 😍
I love SEES CANDIES and MATILDA !!!! Awesome video :)
hehe thank you
My favorite are raspberry creme which is with dark chocolate, dark cherry which just has a maraschino cherry inside, scotchmallow that has half marshmallow and half caramel, dark pecan bud which is like a turtle but with dark chocolate. See's always reminds me of Christmas 💕
Mmm raspberry cream 💕😍 that scotchmallow also sounds insane! Wow
Rum Nougat and apricot delight's are my favorite Sees!!
That's so awesome! I totally missed that he was on a Harley Davidson!! Thank you for sharing that with us. So interesting
Any of the chocolates are delicious. I love anything caramel! The suckers are divine, The make mini bites of the suckers and I can eat a whole box! I love how Kate squirrels away the ones she likes!
Me too! Caramel chocolates are my top I think! Hahaha 😂I was trying to save some for the others as Alex was eating all of his half 😂
The one you said is your top is my favorite and it's called molasses chips.
Thank you Yvette! It was soo good!
The See's that you loved so much that you melted into the table is a butterscotch square. My favorite. I remember the first time I had See's chocolates. My sister was away at college and her roommate was from California. She came to stay with us and brought a box. This was almost 60 years ago and I can still remember that first bite. Yum!!!
So yum!!! Love that!! What a lovely memory
They are my favorite too my husband buys me a 1lb box for Valintines Day I tell him no because I can't eat just one
Liz is such a legend! I hope she can make it to the UK some day and do a cameo on your channel ;)
She really is!! That would be so awesome to do a cameo with her and the Southside girls too! 😍
Yay I made it
I'm first
I moved on Monday and got my wifi sorted today!
The move was flawless
1 load its only 8km away from the old place.
RE Nestlé :They decided to axe some favorites
White chocolate Smartie Slab
Milo Slab
Peppermint Crisp slab
Chocolate Log after 50 years! (don't know if you got one in the SA Box)
Barone with peanuts (not a shame though)

Lol his laugh airco 20:07🙈😂😁😄😝😋😜
My favorite of all candy. My grandad used to get us a big box every Xmas. I got excited when you opened the box lol. You tried my favorite one first. Their Easter filled eggs are so wonderful as well. The coconut creme is my fav Easter egg.
Love that!! Yum, easter filled eggs 😍😍
I swear you guys make my day better watching your content
I am too a Pepsi Max Addict 😂 I wonder what they put in it, that makes it so hard to say no to one lol
Yes!!!!! I am not alone haha 😂I know right! It's so addicting 🙈😂
Thank you Rosemary!
Thank you Damien! Ahh I remember cola cubes. Yum. She really did, it was all so delicious 😋
Omg. This is such perfect timing! I always watch your videos on the treadmill and I was just about to get on 😂 Love you guys ❤️❤️
Perfect timing!! Enjoy the treadmill! I need to get on the treadmill after this haha. Love to you too! ❤️❤️
This With Them It made the time pass so quickly! 😍
Those lollipops are stocking stuffers in California.
Ron Miller Always include them as stocking stuffers as well, they are amazing!
What a great stocking stuffer
What a great video, the see's box sounds soo tasty. But you skipped the Riesen :D don't you like them? We have them here in Germany and I love them
Thank you Adina 😀 we only skipped them as we tried them in a candy box recently. I believe it was the German box 😀
@@ThisWithThem that makes sense 😀

You should try find a pen pal and swap boxes of chocolates 😍😍

They usually have a particular one each day they give out a free sample of.
xnonsuchx did you know you can ask for a sample of whichever chocolate you want instead of the daily free sample?
K. Johnson 🦋 l always pick which one l want. Either Peanut Crunch, Milk Coconut or an Almond Caramel Milk Chocolate. Blessings from California. 💝
Amazing 😍
When I was a little girl, my mother would fill our Easter baskets with See's Candy! She would also buy us a huge chocolate and fudge See's Candy Easter Egg that was the size of your fist. You can find a See's Candy in quite a few shopping malls. I would always stop by one to get a few pieces of the white chocolate California Crunch (the one you really liked) and pick up my free sample as well!
Your mum sounds awesome!! 😍😍😍 yum! Hopefully I can pick some up next time I visit the US!
