That Lu Xun's scene is really good artistic work: It was night at the beginning, and after the flashback we see sunrise in the east. Wu is in the east, and it's like Lu Xun is symbolizing the new hope of Wu. That scene is also true to his character. I think we understand that Zhuge Liang is overshadowing other historical figures, but in the novel, Lu Xun is really the hero of Wu, and he is still relatively young during the Yiling campaign. Imagine the burdens, and he gracefully carries it.
