As a fellow Kentucky man, my Grandpa actually had stories about getting up on the roof and watching the last public hanging in his town, and he was born in 1928, so that was actually still a thing in the 1930s. So yeah, the Kentucky thing totally checks out. I kinda want to see you guys do Wimpy Kid 4, just to see how bad it really gets. You’ll miss the fun you got here, even if there is no plot.
First, wow I never knew that and I bet that was a great story to tell around the chimney fire pit. Your grandpa sounds cool. Second, they need to watch the 4th one because OMG I have never seen an uglier reboot than that.
I've watched this video a few times and only noticed it today. It's one thing if he didn't have a watch, but to look at the wrong one is just magnificent.
So there is a book that explains some behind the scenes stuff, and here are a few I found The food they eat is fake made by the props team, and when the camera is not on them they spit it out on the floor. In the first movie, you see Greg eat a bunch of mash potatoes, and the actor had to keep it in his mouth without spiting it out, while the scene play out, which was one of the hardest scenes to make, and the reason why they use fake food is to prevent them from being sick In scene where Greg loses his shorts in the third movie, they obviously didn't want the actor to be naked, so they gave him shorts that blend in with his skin, and they did the jump over and over again till they made it look convincing, and as it was pointed out, yes the actor was attracted to a wire and was erased with editing. The actor for Mrs Jefferson was recast in the 3rd movie, and they found a new actor, but she has a very thick British accent, so they dubbed over her with one of the female producers. The cheese in the first movie was not cgi, and was actually kept in a cage on asphalt for 6 months from the beginning of summer to the beginning of winter. The actor for Rodrick, thought he was going to be in the 4th movie, and said he was so busy he didn't know if even was in it or not, until he saw the trailer. Also in the 4th movie, the convention Greg and Rodrick goes to was a actually convention, and you see a cosplayer cosplaying as undyne from Undertale. The original plan for the third movie was to do Shortest straw, but the crew didn't have enough material to make it, so the decided to combine Shortest Straw and Dog Days into one movie. And finally, the 4th movie is the worst reviwed of the 4, and Rodrick rules is the best reviewed of the 4
I remember watching this movie when I was young and realizing that, @4:34, Greg's dad looks at the wrong arm to check the time. With this movie, I can't tell if that was intentional or not.
I think the main issue with this movie is that they're basically combining the third and fourth books together, and because of that it's just a bloated mess.
This video's thumbnail is the unquestionably the best one MS has made and here's why 1. Fits Brendan, Jude and Josiah plus the characters from the movie without being cluttered 2. Double the Rodrick 3. Subtle reference to Parasite 4. 3D Wimpy Kid font I give it a 10/10
I remember as a kid, when I saw Greg get the kiddie-phone thing, I always got so mad at it because of the "call home" button. How would you even enter the phone number for home if there's not even a keypad to enter it with? I still get mildly annoyed at that to this day.
