- Review of the Oppo Find X2 Pro two months after I first got my hands on it, including a look at the durability, battery life, performance, PubG and gaming prowess, and camera tech. This super-premium smartphone costs a bomb but you get better hardware than most other flagships here on the Find X2 Pro. From Oppo's impressive display to the sleek design, there's a lot to love. As long as you have the money for it.
I've already done a full review of that impressive camera setup, while my tips and tricks guide walks you through the best features of ColorOS 7.1. But here's a look at my longer term impressions of the Oppo Find X2 Pro, including the everyday experience of using it as your personal phone. It's definitely a great handset, although that price tag is rather high when you consider you can bag a OnePlus 8 or Realme X50 Pro for less than half the cash. Sporting similarly premium specs, if not quite the same level of next-gen hardware.

I bit the bullet and went for the X2 pro and so glad I did. This feels like the most premium phone I've ever owned. The camera is superb and the phone itself runs incredibly smoothly. Down to 599 UK pounds now, a great price.
March 2023- Hone has just updated to Color OS 13,and Android 13. Seems to run better than ever! So pleased with this phone. Did have an issue with Google Messages, but it sorted itself out somehow.

I've had this phone for closer to a year and I have to speak the truth.. This is one of the best phone of not the best phone I have ever had. The display is sharp and crisp. 6.7 screen yet the phone seems quite small in the hands as compared to my note 9 which has a 6. 4 inch screen but the phone seems much more bulky. The smoothness and speed of the phone is excellent due to the 12gb ram. Super charging is top notch. Storage at 512gb is beyond what I need (and I need a lot). An absolutely cracker of a phone and I wouldn't change it even for the oppo 5x Pro which only has 256gb internal storage.
I now own both find X 2 pro and find X5 pro but guess what with the same settings on both phones find X2 pro has much screen resolution

Catastrophic battery life, incredible battery super fast charging but except power bank all other power sources are non movable...
Thanks for the reviews and please keep up the good work. There is one thing that every reviewer seems to miss. The moving object focus on this is horrible. I had an Xperia 1 before and generally got a high keeper rate of pics of my kids. With this it's more like one in 20. Virtually everything is blurred if there is the slightest movement! The eye autofocus and predictive capture on the Sony greatly add to that handset's appeal. I'm so sad I bought this now as I'm stuck with it. If you like landscapes and set portraits, you're fine, it's amazing. Beware folks

The issue I have with Oppo are the small UI quirks that are totally different to say One UI from Samsung. After using Samsung for so long you get used to the Menus, UI etc.

@techspurt, now this is about 12 -18mth old, how do you feel this phone would compare to something newer from this years phone say a xiaomi mi11 or even oppos own find x3 neo which has some of the same internals, my budget cant extend to the x3 pro at this time, but i need to upgrade my phone, my old phone is now 3.5 years old and due an upgrade i feel. so my thoughts are either decent mid range 2021 phone or a high end 2020 phone, which are now being reduced price wise to make room for even more phones coming out.
That's what I was thinking.
I'm interested in getting this phone now. £599 for this quality is something unheard of 5 years ago. But it would be nice to find a retrospective on it. Does it hold up for a couple of years etc
@@TheMijman I got this phone in the end, I had a 3 year old phone, which was top end at the time, but I needed a replacement.
I weighed up getting different phones, based on internals etc and also what deals were available.
I got this through Vodafone, at the equivalent of £400 on the spread payment over 3 years (£11 month) then sorted out a phone plan to suit me.
Overall the phone is quicker, I have so much more internal memory etc and I don't have the hassle of SD cards.
I probably haven't found it everything this phone can do but I'm definitely liking it so far.

Glad you're still liking it after a year or so. It's definitely helping me make up my mind about it.

something i forget to mention with the deal from vodafone was the fact i could pay more than the £11 a month, as in pay it off early with no penalties. so with that in mind you could get the colour you wanted (again if hadnt got it already), then pay the scheme off early and save the £200 difference. so it was originally a 3 year deal for me but i actually paid mine off over 4 months, £100 a month for 3 months then final payment to clear balance, 0% interest over 4 months.
Ordered the s20 ultra, despite the 120hz /Qhd issue , rear camera glass breaking issue , and the lack of snapdragon in favour of exonos in my area. waited 2 months as their was a stock problems with the 512 memory with 12g ram, so super hyped to switch to the oppo find x2 , better processor, able to run 120hz and quad HD, simular cameras, negotiable battery life with a bonus of a 65w charger. For me this is a win win. Ordered on EE for June 10th.
Same here and now with B&O headphones thrown in. Can't wait.
I wish there was an option for 90hz. If this had a headphone jack, I'd definitely buy it. Maybe a 4500 mAh battery too.

Absolutely Ningen it makes a big difference if you’ve tried it. It helps in boosting the over all performance of a phone in ui experience(scrolling navigating through the phone)
Buy Oneplus 8 pro, better and less expensive

About 6 months ago android 13 dropped on the X2 pro in the UK, it's still my favourite phone.
I dont think this phone is worth the price tbh i think its an absolute rip off :/

Outstanding hardware but let down by every new derivative of ColorOs update, which has messed the camera up. I have a 1+Nord, Oxygen 11 is as smooth as butter compared to ColorsOS.

Great phone but battery life isn't that great. I always wonder if the reviewers just use the phone as is. Without all the apps you need. I have around 200/300 apps installed so they take some background energy making my battery not even last a day. But indeed luckily it is full in no time.
Biggest drawbacks split screen is restricted to ColorOS launcher. And I miss the OnePlus alert slider.

Good review , and I'm glad that I made my choice after watching yr review. Only one issue , not sure if this issue on all Oppo find X2 Pro. But on the screen waterfall , there is green tints. Easily noticable when reading etc..

The only downside i have with this phone is actually the battery life , i need to charge like half a day of heavy usage

Strange. I find the battery amazing lasts all day with some to spare. Some other comments state that the battery is not so good. Perhaps just faulty units?
OK I have the oppo in my hands, so far excellent great processor speed with Qhd, lightening fast charger, redefining how I use or charge my phone. Everything the Samsung could offer but much more (bye bye bloatware). Currently grinning like a Cheshire cat..

Great review of an outstanding phone. It is literally perfect.
Even the absence of a 3.5mm headphone jack is not an issue as the OPPO comes with USB Headphones.

Had this phone for around a week now and am hugely disappointed by the battery life. Yes it fully charges in about 38 minutes but it can easily drain in a matter of hours which makes that meaningless. Not impressed.
If only it had wireless charging, an SD card slot, and possibly about €200 cheaper...
Hopefully the find x3 pro has these features

Which has been quite flawless.
Been with voda on the same number for 21 years.
I have virgin at home for telly and broadband.
And they do what seems a pretty darn good deal for this phone
I was always pro Samsung but having 2 hauwei phones .
I'm not worried about the bug brands. And I just don't do apple.
This seems like a really good option at the moment.

Rumoured £1099. No wireless charging. No full support from all the main UK networks. Historically terrible support / updates from oppo. Shame as would love to try it out instead of the usual Samsung et al.

I was torn between this and the s20 ultra but decided in the s20 ultra mostly because it has wireless charging, a slightly bigger screen, edges arent as curved (not a fan of curved edges) and the bigger batteruy but have to say so far I am NOT impressed with the batter on the s20 ultra even in dark mode and 60hz it's only barely lasting a day 🙄 gonna see how I feel over next few days and might send it back for the oppo!
How about battery against Oneplus 8 pro?
To fix the HDR issue on Netflix, try uninstalling and reinstalling, and logging back in. HD and HDR then appeared for me.
Cheers fella, for some reason the phone wasn't having any of it for me. After more fiddling, HDR is now active but still not HD!
Some Honor and Poco phones had the Netflix HD issue in the past. Though was resolved by way of Huawei talking to Netflix and firmware/app updates.
Fake leather is likely to get dirty and scruffy quick!

I think they’re both essentially the same phone, as Oppo owns OnePlus, and so the phones share the same parts. The only differences between the phones are the price and software. If I were you, I’d go 8 Pro!
@@alexgetting245 there are other differences.. The Oppo has the leather option, faster charging and a periscope camera. The oneplus has wireless charging, an alert slider and slightly better battery life. I bought the Oneplus but it comes down to your priorities. Can always put a leather skin on the oneplus I guess...
both are a great phone..the specs is basically just the same tho..find x2 pro have better camera but lack wireless charging and a smaller battery, but it have a very fast charging..OP 8 pro have wireless charging and bigger battery..but the camera isn't powerful as find x2 pro..if its about os, then oxygen os is far better than color os..for me, i would go for find x2 pro bcoz it has a better camera..this is just my opinion tho..its up to you to choose between this two..cheers

I have had this phone about 2 weeks it's absolutely amazing however I have one major gripe with it that may seem insignificant to others. You are unable to use ok Google or hey Google from the lock screen you have to hit the power button first.
U r not alone. I can never use it on my note 10 plus as well. Have to unlock always !

Don't buy this pathetic device. I bought this device a week back and this is my review.
1)Device Heat up while gaming.
2)Software (Hang/Stuck) while playing UA-cam videos generally or doing any work.
3)too much weight.
4)The side touch not working properly if you type fast or click on icon on sides, because touch doesn't support curve sides.
5)Finger print to unlock phone takes up to 3 to 4 seconds to unlock Device.
6)Earphone design not suits for every ear.
7)Camera zoom is a piece of shit.
My comment: I bought because I saw good reviews like high specs, good battery timing etc but after used I suggest don't buy. These are the shitty sponsors who don't have guts to tell the truth.
How on earth can you make it a full day on QHD with 120Hrz! Probably by leaving on Oppo's ridiculously strict background management which result in missing notifications and Health app, Maps not running in the background!

The Netflix issue isn't just on your review unit. It's a common issue with both Oneplus and Oppo phones not having proper Netflix video codec support
It has been certified on the Find X2 Pro now though. By comparison, my Realme X50 Pro 5G doesn't support HDR but does support HD.
Samsung pay attention? Samsung manufacters their screen. They make money off them. Samsung phones still have the best screens.
And the weakest batteries. Every manufacturer has its stong and weak points so picking a phone its all about personal preferences.
Does it come with headphones in the box? Thinking of pre-ordering tomorrow, as due an upgrade, and I know I get the B&O headphones but I like my in-ears for when I'm in bed

yes was going to buy the Oneplus 8 pro but not 5G enabled for NZ. This has taught me to check compatibility of 5 bands. I am now purchasing the Oppo. I can live with wired charging.

I have noticed no one has really done a review of the old flagship Oppo Reno 10x zoom Camera side by side with this bad boy. Is it possible that you could do a short video? Because a lot of customers don’t realise been a year old phone it has one of the best cameras out there especially when the price is 65% cheaper maybe more than the great phones that are still coming out. I think this wold be a unique video rather than those other videos out there that have false information.

I have the Oppo Find X2 Pro. Also has a Samsung S20 Ultra & a Huawei P30 Pro. I find the Samsung the worst out the 3 purely in terms of the camera. It is really poor compared to the Oppo & Huawei. Battery in the Oppo is not great at all. Samsung is better but the Huawei is outstanding. Oppo camera is just OK. Better than the Samsung but the Huawei is the best out the 3 phones. Oppo screen is nice but Samsung screen is nicer. The Huawei is the poorest here. Oppo has no wireless charging which is poor. Both the Oppo & Samsung are nippy to use & quite smooth. I'm not a power user. I don't play any games. Huawei is nippy enough though. All in all, I'd rate the Huawei in 1st,then the Oppo & Samsung last.

Love this phone, just got a excellent deal on black Friday (free phone, 160gb data on 02 £28 a month no upfront cost's ) didn't think it was worth upgrading from the p30 pro, how wrong i was😁

I had a P30 Pro New Edition. Dropped it & it smashed. Bought the Oppo Find X2 Pro. I must be the only one not impressed by it. Compared to the Huawei the battery is not anywhere near as good, it's no faster to use, no smoother (even on qhd) and the most disappointing thing is the camera quality. I find the image quality on the Oppo average at best. The P30 Pro images were clearer, sharper and better colour saturation in any scenario. The actual camera app was much better on the Huawei as well - the Oppo feels less polished.

Agree about the camera functions and the battery life but other than that I can't fault it..i played oled videos on both phones at the same time and the difference was very notable. The sound is quality is far better as well, the smoothness and speed was also a big difference..the camera quality is better but takes some getting used to compared to the p30... overall tho it was the screen quality that impressed me the most...ps..I'm paying less for this than I was my p30 so no brained really lol
