HORNETS Nest Inside TREE TRUNK! Wasp Nest Removals
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 вер 2024
- A client asked me to remove a European Hornet (Vespa crabro) nest from a massive tree trunk! The tree was going to be felled, so the client asked that I cut the nest out and remove completely. I used my chainsaw and cut the tree trunk to expose the entire nest!
I removed the nest from the client's property and took it home to feed it to my Chickens, Emus, Rhea, and Squirrel!

You have to give those bugs credit. They picked a good spot to build that hive.
For sure!
Definitely I don't know y he removed it. That's a good inclosed space
@@byallmeansneccasary6884 Read the description 😉
@@HornetKingOfficial oh I didn't read that 😂
@Hornet King what do you think about a fresh 4 or 5 layer cut in half vertically through it. And maybe explain how they work. How they pass through walk around etc.
I never thought I would enjoy watching someone pick larva out of a comb. It reminds me of pimple popper videos. So satisfying!
😂😂😂 just standing in my kitchen while my tea steeps, think this exact thought!
Lmao 😂😂😂 As you carefully placed the pieces back into the dead tree, I rolled my eyes & chuckled to myself and said, "Ahh, good as new." Exactly same time as you did lol.
Haha!
There's something calming about your videos. Letting us see the yellow jackets at work on their hives, listening to the sound of the vacuum, and seeing how happy all the animals are to have a tasty treat at the end. I love to watch after a stressful day at work. Keep doing what you're doing, man!
Glad you like them! Thank you so much!
I do the same thing watching these after work. The removal movements are slow, mindful, and deliberate. These videos are zen.
For some reason you taking out the larvae out of each cell is really relaxing to me. I would LOVE to see more videos of you picking out the larvae from the comb. For some reason it really cooled down my anxiety. Thank you for that. Love from Wisconsin! 🧀 🐄
This has to be the best yet of your videos. The recording is absolutely sharp and clear removing so many from inside the cavity. Good Stuff. And I have been watching for years.
I don't know about that, but I appreciate your positive perspective!
What I really admire is how you're able to do your job while having to be in some obviously uncomfortable positions!
Thank you! It can be tricky sometimes haha
Got to give the queen credit, what an amazing place to pick for a nest. Love seeing the birdies and of course the squirrely squirrel! Amazing content as always
One of the best videos of a removal you've made. Camera angle inside the tree showing the layers of comb added some suspense and excitement. Will there be another layer? Yes! And ANOTHER layer? Yes! So cool!
Talk about a labor of love. Plucking those white caps like that. This man loves his animals. Definitely one of the good guys.
I really dont know why these are so fascinating but here I am going through your channel!
I love the random adult you find while extracting the larvae “Can I help you?!” 😂😂
Haha, he was a creeper.
@@HornetKingOfficial Aww, he had such a cute face! I kinda felt sorry for the little bugger, wondering what had happened to his nest/colony.
Did you see when he tapped the hornet down, his little leg came up...like he wanted to high-five him!
I love watching his videos, but come back to this one everytime. Something satisfying about him showing and picking out the larvae. Especially fun seeing him with the birdies and squirrelly. 😊
Love the sound of them getting sucked up. Found it funny how it appeared they were hiding inside cells. Like a kid hiding under the blankets from a monster.
Man that nest was Hugh! Thanks for giving an up close and personal look at the removal :). It looks like that old hollow tree needs removed as well before Mother Nature takes it down. We appreciate you sharing part of your day with us! Love seeing all your animals - I remember when you just had a few chickens and mr/mrs squirrel !
Thanks Mary Jane!
Yes the client wanted this nest out so the fella he hired could fell the tree.
Thanks for being here and watching!
Definitely satisfying to watch the removal of the larvae and pupae ❤
Thank you for posting the tweezing and silk cap ripping video! I know it’s so labor intensive but gosh, it is soooo satisfying to watch!
Glad you enjoyed it!
HUGE THANK YOU FOR SHOWING SQUIRRELLY.... WE HAD MISSED HER ESPECIALLY MY WIFE!!! SHE ASKED IN EVERY VIDEO WHY YOU HAD STOPPED SHOWING HER!! THANKS AGAIN FROM MY WIFE (MS. KIM) 😁
Haha, she comes around when she comes around. She's a wild squirrel. Next time she's here I'll give her a good snuggle and snack from Ms Kim!
Love the emus, chickens and other birds and especially the squirrels; so adorable!
You need to tell that customer that the tree has massive amounts of termites also. I would check that building next to the tree, that tree also needs to come down asap. The tree is cracked, now partly cut open, and the wood is in ruff shape.
The Vacuum of Navarone
Impressive job. Loved the video of a few that looked right at the hose and poof!!
I love how you’ve trained them to gently eat from your hand
Haha, I didn't train them. That's just what they do.
Wow you can see the difference of stages of the hornets in the comb! Absolutely amazing! Also my favorite clip is of a bald face hornet in slow motion at the start of your video! You have an amazing talent sir!
Thank you so much!
When you first tried to get the bee off the Blue Bowl, at 20:47 it look like the bee waved at you.😂
That was a big nest. I think this is the 2nd nest I seen you remove from inside a tree. It amazes how they are able to tunnel out the inside of the tree to build their nest. I'M glad we don't have the European Hornet down here. Your channel has really grown and you are deserving of every sub. Your videos are always interesting and well done!
Thanks so much, man!
European Hornets are the 3rd inhabitants of these Hollow tree spaces. First it's carpenter ants. The turn the heartwood into Swiss cheese and it starts to rot. Then squirrels chew it out to tunnel up through. Then beetle grubs start working the perimeter out further. THEN the queen Hornet starts her colony in there. They will chew out rotting wood down to the hard wood to make room for the comb to grow. That's why the walls in there were so smooth. But they didn't create that cavity. That was years in the making.
I don't know why but it is satisfying to watch the squire eating the larva.
I love to see squirrel. That furry cutie never fails to make me smile 🥰
I bow to you, Hornet King!
I had no idea squirrels ate larvae. Thank you for the education! 🐿👍
When I used to keep pet rats I’m willing to bet they would have loved taking those combs apart. Thanks for another great video 💕
I'm not going to lie. The best part of the videos is the animals for me
I finally got picture of my cat watching The Hornet King!!! He loves it!!!!
Trying to send it to u. Lol
It's always neat to see tree nest removals, you never know how many layers of comb you're gonna find in there!
Lol at that pupae who started trying to escape around 20:00
He thought he was slick until he crawled on my hand 😆
I love listening to your squirrel eat
Me too!
I love the squirrel too thanks debbie
It’s pretty satisfying to watch you pick out the larva and pre adult hornets.
Picking the pupae and larvae out is definitely some ASMR hahaha
Can I just say, the intro music is epic. Gets me pumped up to watch removals every time!
Thanks Nate!
I miss having chickens used to have 3 when I was little all female. All were sweeties except for one she was a mean lil girl also that squrriel is so adorable wen it squeaks
Hey, I'd've hidden behind that tree if hornets came at me! Keep it up! You're making my day!
The hole in your suit on your arm was giving me so much anxiety!! 🤣 Glad nothing got in
That nest was like an infomercial....but wait, there's more!
Chickens: "We're feeling peckish here!"
I could sit for hours watching your videos, they are absolutely fascinating! I binge watched your videos and each one is fascinating! These hornets look very much like our wasps just a little bigger! I really enjoyed watching the nests you did in your barn, I realised at that time I knew nothing wasps and hornets! Your videos are on another level, absolutely amazing, thank you for sharing these videos you are a very interesting man!
Great video. Your conversation with the squirrel made me smile...very sweet. 🐿️🤗💜
Came for the hornets, stayed for the squirrel (and the HK's special squirrel voice ;))
I know Im weird. but I feel like The plucking of larva and Pupating adults is a great ASMR.
Talk about surgical precision. I have no idea how you cut that tree exactly right, but kudos to experience! :-)
Thank you!
Tree trunk *exists*
European Hornet Queen: It's free real estate
YES! Your tree trunk video are just the best (I fondly remember that first "fight or flight" one with the wasp venom in the eye).
Thank you!
11:27 is where I’m at I’ll finish watching tomorrow i got to get up early in the morning for therapy see y’all soon GOD BLESS
wait.... did you just say "AND MY SQUIRREL?" I had a pet squirrel when I was little! We found him abandoned by his mom on the ground (maybe a bird tried to eat him? who knows) and bottle raised him until he was old enough to go back to nature. Didnt let him get too comfy around humans because we wanted him to survive when we released him, but he would jump on your shoulder and ride around the house. Eat nuts from your hand and stuff. So fun. He went outside after about a year and stayed around our backyard for a few years. Not sure what happened to him after that but he was super cool. His name was Squirrely-Q
Also, that species didn't seem very aggressive at all! Surprising because I always thought most hornets were born d--kheads.
Just depends on the colony. Some EH colonies can be sensitive and defensive, but this one wasn't too bad.
4:43 when he sees the stacks of combs he's thinking oooo food for my chickies, squirrely and emu
Your animals will never speak like adults if you always talk to them using “baby talk”! 😊
Tee hee hee
10:26 Always satisfying to look at.
I love you squirrel ❤❤😂😂
Tanks!
🎉🎉🎉 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Oh yea, keep putting them videos out !!
We will watch em !!!
I’m sure this is very tedious, but the sound of the silk caps ripping off and removing the larvae in slightly sped up speed is definitely a soothing thing to watch.
The very first video of yours I watched was a European Hornet removal in a tree about 4 or 5 years ago and the one at your parents house that was underground, so these kinds of videos I really like.
Thanks for being here so long, Brett!
What a tidy little colony. Awesome! Years ago I cut down an old spruce tree on my property, there was a ground next under the tree. They stung the shit out of me before I could jump in my creek, lol. Love the channel
Nice!!! I felt bad for that single wasp crawling around the pupating adults :'( He was so cute!
You can get them screaminv: "dude, that's our house" just before entering the vicious vacuum beast 😁😁
These hornets seemed to be pretty chill most of the time
Yup!
Seems like these Europeans were fairly easy going. I take it there was no venom spraying into your eyes this time? Phew. Those were some great shots with the phone propped inside of the tree, looking up from below! I was terrified when I saw the state of your suit! Protect yourself man!
I really liked those few videos when you did the quick species intro with the photo (with the stripe and spot pattern on the abdomen) and species name in the corner of the screen, while sharing the common name and some basic info about the species. I would love to see that each time. I think it's probably great for newbies and people who watch all of the videos like me. Especially with the yellowjackets, it helps me by hearing the common name, scientific name, etc. Without much effort, I feel like I am finally wrapping my head around that stuff, but still can't remember all of the Latin names yet. Off hand, I do remember that Vespula Germanica are German Yellowjackets, I think. I live in Northern Canada, but my sister is in DC and my parents are in NY state. Subtlety sharing all of this at the beginning of each video could have me visiting my family, and easily identifying and rattling off scientific names, like you do.
very cool! found something similar like that nest but it was dead and my grandma just took it out like it was nothing. I think I’m a bit more nervous than my grandma 😅
Love, love, love your videos! Very cute squirrel!!💕💜💛💙
Thank you so much!
Everytime I watch these videos I always get paranoid about bugs. Like I keep scratching my skin because it feels like they're crawling on me! lol
I love the close up views
You make me smile and giggle the way you talk to your squirrel. 😁 I do that same noise when I see them too: "tk tk tk tk tk tk tk." 🤣
The pupating adults remind me of baby corn lol
One of the fastest nest pullouts I've seen yet. Soon as it got exposed, gone. Not much worrying about the hornets.
Different experience from the last one, which those went crazy.
I edited this one down pretty heavy because I had so much of the tweezing and animals to share.
I have been watching your videos for awhile and they are great ! You may have already mentioned about it but it would be nice to hear the story about your squirrel, how your found him, how it acts around you,, things like that. It would be interesting to know. Keep up the great work and Thanks.
Thanks Mike!
Enjoyed watching the video very much Hornet King
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks Ed!
Dude you're the best! I've been watching you since the beginning!
Thank you for being here so long, Shawn!
I dislike like hornets near me but this colony made an amazing location…. It’s not like they were in someone’s home. It’s sad that they couldn’t stay in a way
When I saw the thumbnail I first thought you were reposting an old video. Trees seem to a popular home for these hornets.
Same Hornets, different tree
As always awesome content thanks for your time to do this video 📸
Thank you John!
Amazing Asmr Of removing larvae from the nest
Man this video makes me miss my emu. She loved eating wasps
3:25 duct tape is a bold fashion choice lol.
Windsor Ontario Canada
It must have gotten stuck there. I don't think I put it there on purpose, despite there being a tear in the top layer of mesh.
You seem like you love your birdies very much, I’m sure others agree when I say we’d love to see more of them! I know your channel is hornet based, but hour long videos of just sitting and feeding your birds would be lovely to fall asleep to ♥️ thank you for making your videos!
I took the nest home and fed them to my Emus, Rhea, chickens, squirrel, cats, dogs, hippos, giraffe, lemurs, gazelles, and still had some left over to make a dip.
Hahaha, maybe in 5 years that's what my channel will grow into 😆
Those are surprisingly calm hornets.
Every colony is different
that cut is so perfect
Your videos are awesome man! That squirrel truly loves you, amazing, and very calming to watch!
Always pleasant to watch a professional at work
Thank you 😊
This man has balls the size of Jupiter! I wouldn't go anywhere _near_ that nest, even with a bee suit!
😂; I was thinking Saturn myself!
It’s always cool to o see your critters eat larvae.
Thanks Don!
Its a good day when you upload
As always, I love seeing your squirrel
Catching up on your videos and was about to ask about the squirrely squirrel! 💕 love how the emus sit to eat 😆
15:00 he's such a good birdie dad and good for the environment! Recycling the foods that prob most hornet removal people just throw away he feeds them to his birdies even if it takes work to remove the silk caps and everything
Perfectly cut out. You should become a lumberjack aswell 😁
Also the intro was perfect. 👍🏻
Thank you!
Yes, I like the newish intro and awfully glad you left in that gorgeous bald face!
You know what I bet would be another great usage of the pupae/larvae? Toss 'em in a pond for the fishies...
Interesting how they built the nest into the tree!
Keep up the good work!
Thank you!
Really clean sound on this one. I keep trying to flick my head away on reflex when I hear a wasp buzzing in one ear.
Thanks!
Love squirrely squirrel. So cute!
Vespid Crabro!! I bet it felt like quarters not pennies sucking them up in the vacuum! 😂
I really enjoy when your feeding your birdies and squirrel there so awesome im such a animal lover
Thank you!
