atam mardes Like, surprisingly easily. The first, very obvious one is that we can trace the early church to being a radical movement within the first decade of Jesus’ resurrection. Historians find it very difficult to account for how this new religious sect spreading out from Galilee took on so much significance within the first few years after what should have been the death of it’s founder! Another one is that no legitimate historian actually doubts the crucifixion of Jesus. Tacitus, Josephus and Pliny the Elder all attest to a widespread knowledge of his death and crucifixion in the first century. So we know that he died, we know where he was buried- and we know that 3000 eye witnesses saw him after his death. I guess that means that the burden of proof is on you to produce a body? Idk?
@@reubenfromow4854 Don't get confused please. I didn't ask evidence to prove that Jesus existed as a person or Jesus was crucified. Like so many others I listen daily and am helped in the most down-to-earth practical ways. After looking at the comments it seems we are still trying to find the best definition. But the thing that struck me was what John pointed out about grace describing God’s character. I’m pretty discouraged, or disappointed in my lack of holiness in behavior and attitude (which I think comes from a too limited view of God’s glory). So today when I sheepishly came to Him in confession I couldn’t imagine why He would want to hear this again. But this better understanding of God’s gracious nature helped me picture differently what His attitude might be. Even if I experience some disciplinary consequences for my actions, I can be joyful in knowing the nature of the One who corrects me, and I will be less prone to feel discouraged in my relationship with Him.
I've been working on a piece about God's grace and struggling to equate it with God's other attributes, such as mercy, love, wrath, justice. I, too have come to see grace as not simply a characteristic or attribute of God, but often something more. This is a timely word of encouragement to me; thank you Pastor John and Tony for ministering in Truth through these videos!
Had the thought that grace comes along with any alchemical change. Good or bad , grace comes through alongside the new. Time is grace. The everlasting outflowing of all that is as it asks "what next"
Grace is indeed that which we have not earned - both in what He gives to us, and through which He empowers us, it would seem. None of us deserve either of those things: both are grace, differently expressed, from the same good Source.
I want to draw something out that Piper himself would say. “Jesus didn’t come to give bread but to be bread”. Therefore I want to suggest that in contexts in which we think of grace as undeserved favour that we instead think that God IS the underserved favour. That grace is the opportunity for his unmerited in dwelling. His in dwelling is his desire and his power and his generosity (gifts). I therefore like to think of grace as undeserved relationship with God. I may be wrong but I do t think grace focuses on things God gives that aren’t himself. Even spiritual gifts are his capability.
And you're right. I've been pondering on the most commonly used terms in scripture and I've realised how important they are. I don't want to use them without knowing the weight of their meanings. So I was on a hunt for the meaning of Grace. And you've helped, like Piper. I'm thankful to God that through his grace, he revealed his word to you for my sake and others alike.
You realize that we were created as imperfect beings because of choice. If God created the universe, then the basis of all creation reflects his mind of unconditional love for all creation. By choice, humanity fell from grace, but the universe still exists in grace from the father. We do not perspirate in our restoration into grace. We are not in control.
I think in all the verses that are mentioned in this video, the grace of God means the undeserved favour of God. It's just that this undeserved favour is expressed in a variety of ways and with a variety of goals. For example: In Eph 2:8 the undeserved favour of God gives salvation, which is obviously a favour for those who are saved. In 2 Cor 12:9 the undeserved favour of God enables Paul to endure and do God's will, but this is a favour because these things are good for Paul and also good for those Paul has contact with. In 1 Cor 15:10 the undeserved favour of God has made Paul what he is, but this is a favour because it has been good for Paul to become what he is and is also good for those Paul has contact with.
Grace pronounced the guilty to be innocent by virtue of having the opportunity to be justified even though you deserve severe judgment, because someone else had stood in your place to get what you deserve, despite the fact that you don't, but you trust and believe, and receive it.
The worst of humanity will be restored. We are but ants in a ignorant colony. The finite mind cannot even begin to grasp the infinite that transcends time and space.
Would i be right in saying that what distinguishes me as a believer from every other non-believer is God's Grace alone? In other words, is the sole reason why I'm saved because of God's Grace.. period? If so, that changes everything.
What is grace? From G5463; graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstract or concrete; literal, figurative or spiritual; especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude): - acceptable, benefit, favour, gift, grace (-ious), joy liberality, pleasure, thank (-s, -worthy). How do we receive grace? Faith accesses grace! Rom 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Saved through “Faith” accesses His grace! Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: The grace of God teaches us to walk in righteousness! Tit 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation hath appeared to all men, Tit 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Tit 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Tit 2:15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee. So “Faith” is “Not Sinning”! Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world What is Sin? 1Jn 3:4 Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Does a person have TRUTH (JESUS) if they don’t “Keep His Commandments”? 1Jn 2:4 He that says, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. The Law is not about salvation, it's how we show our love to God and others by "Keeping His Commandments"! 1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. 1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and His commandments are not grievous.
I’m struggling with the practical application of mercy to the brethren. How does that work? I know we’re supposed to be merciful but what does that really mean in a human to human context?
I find it ironic that he calls this question a "soft ball" yet spends the whole video repeating himself and what Heather said. No practical explanation of what active grace actually looks like! If you're going to be proud enough to call something "easy", then I expect a better answer than "we're all in the same boat", "read the Bible", or "let me repeat what she said". Great question, stuffy unsatisfactory answer.

Grace changes us not only from the outside but from within. Titus 3:4-7 KJVS [4] But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, [5] Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; [6] Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; [7] That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. www.justifiedfreely.com

Where does the name 'Christians' come from? The first recorded use of the term (or its cognates in other languages) is in the New Testament, in Acts 11after Barnabas brought Saul (Paul) to Antioch where they taught the disciples for about a year, the text says: "[...] the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." (Acts 11:26). Amen .
Continuing to use the definition of GRACE given to us by Catholics we will continue to insult Jesus in Luke 2:40 where also in Greek language we see that Jesus was also in needs for the GRACE of God. And we have many other verses like 2Peter 3:18 telling us that it is time to ignore the definition of GRACE given to us by Catholics. Saying that GRACE is UNmerited favor given to sinners they insult also their mama Mary saying that she is FULL OF GRACE which means FULL OF UNmerited FAVOR. But what she did so bad to NOT MERIT God’s favor???. Then WHAT IS GRACE if the Bible tells us that the seat of GRACE is in the Holy of Holies inside the heavenly Sanctuary ?. WHAT IS GRACE for the repentant who fulfilled already Galatians 2:20 (Rom 12:1) 1John 3:9 1John 5:18) being IDentified in Rev 14:12 being sealed in Rev 7:1-8 Rev 14:1 for the call announced in Rev 14:7 Rev 18:4 ???. In Rev 14:7 to FEAR God means to KEEP God’s commandments(Exodus 20) and to KEEP the commandments means TO NOT SIN ANYMORE. &So it is clearly that WHEN after all these verses you still continue to call yourself a SINNER you will not be able to see yourself as the angel announced in Rev 14:7 Rev 18:4 warning the world TO SIN NO MORE. You cannot call the world to STOP SINNING while you are still sinning... God don’t want you as liar in Revelation 14:7 Rev 18:2 where is about calling the world to COME OUT OF SINFUL LIFE… That is why EGW says already many times that God’s SEAL will only be placed on the foreheads of those who are already separated from sin and sinners. And that's why the sealing in Revelation 7:1-8 will have to be done first so that you will be SEALED in Revelation 14:1 so that in Revelation 14:6-12 Revelation 18 you can start your last missionary work showing the world the character of God revealed in the Law of laws of the Sanctuary given to create sanctuaries(John 2:21 Colos 2:1-3 Colos 1:26,27 1Cor 6:19 1Cor 3:16) for the final TEST mentioned in verses like 2Thes 2:2,4 Rev 12:17 Rev 13:15 Matt 24:9 Luke 17:37 etc. EGW is continue saying : From eternal ages it was God’s purpose that every created being, from the bright and holy seraph to man, should be a temple for the indwelling of the Creator - {DA 161.1}.

@@alohawhy Reading the Bible is not enough; You have to read the Bible and actually use your brain to think on your own to realize the truth that the God of the Bible was conjured up by hypocrites who were intellectually comparable to today's Afghan warlords. I doubt you have better reading comprehension than Mark Twain, Issac Asimov, Albert Einstein, or Thomas Paine. "The best cure for Christianity is reading the Bible." Mark Twain "It (Bible) is full of interest. It has noble poetry in it; and some clever fables; and some blood-drenched history; and some good morals; and a wealth of obscenity; and upwards of a thousand lies." Mark Twain "Properly read, the Bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived." Isaac Asimov "The Bible, a collection of honorable, but still purely primitive, legends which are nevertheless pretty childish." Albert Einstein “It is not a God, just and good, but a devil, under the name of God, that the Bible describes.” Thomas Paine

It's funny you accuse people of not answering you when it's you who never answers a question that's asked of them. You need to do some research rather than copy and pasting from the internet or are you not able to think for yourself young hypocrite.
Wrong preaching! Learn from the law and prophets ie important than depending on grace. Remember there'll be judgement when Jesus returns. It's not by grace that we should live but by commandments that we're going to live with Jesus in His new Spirit. That's relevant!
Once again.....a whole lotta WHAT to believe and absolutely zero HOW to believe it. Defining and describing a word is of little value compared to the understanding of HOW it manifests itself. What is all this “help” he so eloquently describes? What does it offer...provide...create?
Definition 1: Grace is what inclines God to give gifts that are free and undeserved. (Rom 3:24, Rom 5:15)
Definition 2: Grace is not only a disposition in the nature of God, but also a force, a power, an acting of God to change us for good work, obedience, suffering etc.

Tit 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation hath appeared to all men,
Tit 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;
Tit 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Tit 2:15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
So “Faith” is “Not Sinning”! Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world
What is Sin?
I have struggled to understand grace as well
I’m struggling with the practical application of mercy to the brethren. How does that work? I know we’re supposed to be merciful but what does that really mean in a human to human context?
Book of Galatians.
How do you apply this with addiction
I'm scared I'm taking advantage of His grace. I purposely do what i shouldn't. I know Romans 7.
rev 19, lines 7 to 9
I find it ironic that he calls this question a "soft ball" yet spends the whole video repeating himself and what Heather said. No practical explanation of what active grace actually looks like! If you're going to be proud enough to call something "easy", then I expect a better answer than "we're all in the same boat", "read the Bible", or "let me repeat what she said". Great question, stuffy unsatisfactory answer.
Romans 3:23-24 KJVS
[23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; [24] Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
How does grace justify a believer.
Titus 2:11-12 KJVS
[11] For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, [12] Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Read the 12th chapter of Hebrews.
Grace changes us not only from the outside but from within.
Titus 3:4-7 KJVS
[4] But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, [5] Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; [6] Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; [7] That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Your transcript is not matching what you say. I tried to follow and write down the number of times Grace is mentioned, and at 1:53 it speaks about a vampire ???
God don’t want you as liar in Revelation 14:7 Rev 18:2 where is about calling the world to COME OUT OF SINFUL LIFE…
That is why EGW says already many times that God’s SEAL will only be placed on the foreheads of those who are already separated from sin and sinners.
The idea that we can take part in our salvation is laughable.
*HELLO, ARE YOUR PODCASTS AVAILABLE IN SPOTIFY?* 😁💕 thank you
Dionysus, Osiris, Attis, & many other pre-Jesus figures allegedly were resurrected. Do you have any evidence to prove the resurrection of Jesus is not a hoax made up decades after Jesus by hoaxer Christian writers making up fake eyewitnesses and fake testimonials?
@@AtamMardes cute, please read the Bible, start with New testament and read the Old. All your questions in life, are found in that book. 🤗💕 Blessings
"The best cure for Christianity is reading the Bible."
Mark Twain
"It (Bible) is full of interest. It has noble poetry in it; and some clever fables; and some blood-drenched history; and some good morals; and a wealth of obscenity; and upwards of a thousand lies."
Mark Twain
"Properly read, the Bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived."
Isaac Asimov
"The Bible, a collection of honorable, but still purely primitive, legends which are nevertheless pretty childish."
Albert Einstein
“It is not a God, just and good, but a devil, under the name of God, that the Bible describes.”
Thomas Paine
@@alohawhy The Bible is the claim, not the evidence for the God of the Bible. You did not answer my question. I ask you again: Do you have any evidence to prove the resurrection of Jesus is not a hoax made up decades after Jesus by hoaxer Christian writers making up fake eyewitnesses and fake testimonials?
It's funny you accuse people of not answering you when it's you who never answers a question that's asked of them. You need to do some research rather than copy and pasting from the internet or are you not able to think for yourself young hypocrite.
Wrong preaching! Learn from the law and prophets ie important than depending on grace. Remember there'll be judgement when Jesus returns. It's not by grace that we should live but by commandments that we're going to live with Jesus in His new Spirit. That's relevant!
Just why does this exist?
There is no grace...when people r suffering so much mentally till they end their lives...where is the grace????????
My boyfriend did a sermon on grace. For your consideration and more on the topic; you can find it here: ua-cam.com/video/IZSiRo8RlQw/v-deo.html
You should not read the Bible like a law book. You should read the whole thing.
What is grace? CityAlight to the rescue! ua-cam.com/video/VCr6Vvj3nRo/v-deo.html
Once again.....a whole lotta WHAT to believe and absolutely zero HOW to believe it.
Defining and describing a word is of little value compared to the understanding of HOW it manifests itself.
What is all this “help” he so eloquently describes? What does it offer...provide...create?
