Am I the only one who thinks this is the best fighting game channel out there. Due to my older brothers forcing me to play fighting games as a kid these are the only games I will play as an adult. It reminds me of G4 back in the day.

KOF deserves more representation on the channel. It has history, a new game coming out, solid af game play and at least Kizzie and Justin can carry crazy hype matches. Jiyuna played 02 UM quite a bit too.

American players is too noobs in comparison Chinese and Latin America players in Kof. :v
KoF has no place in the fgc. Never had. Which is why the game only showed up in Evos in the 13th main title, even though Evo exists since the early 00s. It only happened because Evo started to "advertise" fgs in the 10s, instead of bringing just the classic franchises people really wanted. KoF 13 came out exactly around that change in Evo.
But this isnt a channel about fake and disinterested advertising of fgs. It only matters if the Panda players are into it. And none of them are very experienced and in love with Snk fgs. Not even Justin, who is probably the oldest player in the team who lived the arcade era, where Snk was at peak popularity (not in the us) and quality. He knows very well 13, because of Evo, but that's about it.
The other players have even more superficial contact with KoF, and most of the channel average public is not different.
So there is small good reasons to bring KoF. At least not any besides KoF 15 comes out. After all there has to be some small part of "advertising" in the channel, because we live in esports era. Still it's true to say this channel has mostly genuine content.
@@ArcChristelle KoF (or any Snk fg) never had any place in the us fg scene. And this scene exists since the late 90s, and KoF debuted in the mid 90s. But it was always completely ignored until Evo become mostly commercial, in the 2010s.
And you can't say that was because KoF is complex. Because the arcade fg generation grinded hard on those old Capcom fgs, which werent simple at all (except SF2). Imagine the muscle and brain demand on a young teen player to transition from SF2 to Marvel when it was created in the mid 90s.
It would be no problem for those hardcore arcade players to adopt KoF. People just never cared about it in the us for some reason.
@@carlosaugusto9821 I clearly wrote "the new generation" . There was more of a KOF scene back in the day before the advent of SFIV despite the fact that Capcom always dominated the states. Especially around the time of XI and Garou. Players like Dark Geese were fighting to keep the scene alive. The reason why SNK wasn't popular back then was just simply because Capcom was seen as superior. Especially when it came visually. However, both sides offered mechanics as deep as space in terms of mastery.
With the advent of SFIV and new players going to that, BlazBlue, Tekken, and MVC3 the KOF scene dwindled to the arcade players. The players showing at EVO2012 were strong XIII arcade players from Mexico, Korea, and Japan. The KOF scene in the states was practically dead until people in the US saw actual high level KOF.
I really like this long form fighting game content. Keep up the good stuff.

This content is great. One suggestion to consider. With the editing, when the players are discussing a game if there was something on the screen to say what games they are comparing or discussing that would be a help.
When I watch the videos if I look away when the games are shown on the screen and then look back, it means I have to rewind the video back to where you had the games on the screen. This would be a big help when we are watching these videos while multi-tasking.

VF and Kof is most Underated fighting games.
KoF isnt a fgc game. Simple. They dont know how to judge these things. Maybe Justin can judge KoF 13 and 14 very well because they are new and Justin had deeper contact with them. But look how some players had few opinions about even mainstream fgs that happened to be old.
@@carlosaugusto9821 The series is known for its very fast paced gameplay with more freedom of various movement options. And a solid and a unique combo system that is a little complex and demanding but if u play SF and other FGs u should have little to no problem playin KOF and other SNK FGs at all. It has almost similar fundamentals so it'll get easy over time once u keep at it. But no instead they play it for a couple wks to a month and never touch it again. It's annoying to see them do that. Then they go back to their go to FGs and the thing is they only want to play one game or put only one game over the other and view the rest as beneath that. If KOF isnt your thing then just say so and move on but don't be a sweaty musty nut scratchin grease dredgin cheetoh breathin dortio munchin mountain dew addict who's a keyboard warrior. The FGC is a sheep they want to dick ride these pubs/devs that keep giving them mediocrity when they can settle for something that's more friendly loyal and wholl ensure that they have a quality experience with their games. And ones wholl listen to their fans at all times to make their games better.

True but I agree with Jiyuna. The old melty blood had like 8 updates and new versions, new characters added, balancing, etc, while Type Lumina is only the first version. I bet it will get a lot better over time.
@@wh0racle3 They haven't addressed the shield and auto combo complaints yet despite receiving many feedbacks and the dipping player counts. Aoko didn't bring many people back in as well, despite always being hyped up and brought on by many and is currently free. Roll back has improved a lot, but they're not coming back. It's looking really grim for the game. Only a miracle will somehow bring the game back from being a Discord game, in my opinion of course.
I'll be honest, I like it more than MBAACC simply because I'm really bad at playing FG and auto-combo helped me a ton in learning the fundamentals and having fun, but I know that almost every one doesn't and the fact that it's too disruptive at times.

The reason I'm always gonna pick Marvel 3 over Marvel 2 is because Marvel 3 is the one game that made me look Fighting games differently at a more mechanical and theory-wise way. But also UMvC3 is the game that made me fall in love with fighting games and the FGC and encouraged me to improve at them.

Rev 2 is my newest and second Guilty Gear game. Love that game
NetherRealm games are kinda meh in general but I liked MK9 a lot though because it felt so old school and nostalgic. The newer ones are bland looking and don't feel that much like MK to me. The abundance of guest characters is just too much, like half of the roster is just guests. I don't understand the fascination with guest characters, I want MK to feel like MK, not Super Smash Kombat Ultimate All Stars.

ST is great for its nostalgia factor, and just the fact that it's SF2 the biggest fighting game in history. In terms of competitive ST, it is absolutely busted on so many levels.

I played so much Soul Calibur 2, and I absolutely love it. But since 6 looks so friggin' good, it's wierd seeing the old graphics again. Also, I like MK11 WAY more then either Injustice, even though I think MKX is still way better then that.

Maybe SFIII and SFIV shouldn't even be compared because the way SFIII works makes it a different game from the other ones that, more or less, have traditional Street Fighter fundamentals. It's like SFIII is not even a Stret Fighter game (not in a bad sense).
And also, 3S has been out for over 20 years with zero balance patches, expansions or anything like that, nor was there a huge competitive scene at the time for the developers to patch accordingly. When SF4 came out, it was already on the grand stage and everyone was watching it, so when something came out that was broken the developers swiftly fixed it.

I started on SF2 back in '91. Played fighters through my college years and kinda fell off in 2011 when MvC3 came out. I'm still a part of the FGC community, but I'd rather take the older titles compared to the newer ones.

I'm a relative newcomer (2019) to fighting games but I've gone back and played a lot. on the one hand, over games sometimes get kneejerk reverence that I don't think people actually think through. On the other hand, it'd be weird for Strive at like 7 months old to be seen as "better" than rev2 which is what, a decade old? and has many legendary moments and experiences whereas strive hasn't even existed in an offline context at all? it's a silly comparison but I realize the video I clicked on lol. but it's not looking for violence, it's not something to fight over.
The biggest lesson is probably that preferring one game over another doesn't mean you can't like both! I could live without the negativity that -most- folks would bring to an argument like this. as opposed to focusing on what you enjoy.
First, no offense and i apologize if it sound kinda harsh, there are some objectivity when talking about good & bad fighting game, so i hope this question could answer your curiosity about what people feel when the game came out, mainly about this topic =
- character variety (how many character available, how much playstyle they could fit on, how unique the match up when those character clashing)
- game system/mechanic (movement, combo, meter, etc)
- how versatile/limited the mechanic is (versatile if 1 simple mechanic could be used in lot of different way, or limited if it could only be used as 1 certain thing)
- how big is the difference betwen beginner, low level, mid level, high level, tournament level skill could be? (About skill floor and ceiling)
- how responsive/intuitive the game is (input lag, how the movement feel, is your "expectation" of thing to happen actually translate well to "reality" or isnt, usually very heavily affected by how their legacy game is played on)
- how is it compared to its legacy if its have one (basically if tekken have the same advance graphic fidelity, movement option, damage, combo routing, etc but they suddenly reduced the movelist into tekken 1 version for the sake of "simplicity" as their new sequel game then it might be a problem, if game like MVC 123 have sequel game that played like sf 2 to make it more "simple" then it might be problem, if game like GG xrd/+r have a sequel that played based on grounded footsies when we have their legacy "predecessor" game who was the one that introduce "anime fighter" aerial footsies into FGC then it might be a problem too, cuz people might see it as a taint to the series, or basically think that some big computer/laptop manufacturer suddenly create a malfunctioning next gen product or "sequel" to their old greatest of all time product then yeah people will despise it, or basically for the sake of easy understanding just watch the red shirt guy who ask a question on the release of diablo immortal at blizzcon, especially the comment section of the video, its the epitome of this question)
- how open ended the game is (almost the same like versatility, but more focused on how many unique interaction could happen, and every match will be different from one and the other due to how chaotic the game is, i mean thats why we have championship of chess that still hold and being watched a lot till this day, but not a championship of rock paper scissor or tic tac toe which doesnt have lot of variety and open ended possibility compared to chess, about strive maybe you could watch hifight analysis of kizzie kay gameplay at CEO2021 and how often it could happen compared to GG xrd/+r, i would say even some random casual match in xrd and +r, it could happen more often and they will still have the same crazy and complexity like that clip or maybe even more than that, for that reference maybe you could watch jiyuna or kizzie kay video on his xrd "casual" gameplay, if jiyuna then watch his leo vs sol "the super gorilla xrd set" video, also his fight with daisuke)

Suggestion: popular unpopular theme: all players say a very popular fg (title, not franchise) they think that isnt good. And say a great fg that is very little known.
Suggestion: wish to play more theme: all players say 2 games, that are at least 3+ year old, they arent very familiar with and really wanted to seriously get into, if they had more time. Recent or old/retro.

Who among those players know the KoF series very well to debate? Probably nobody else but Justin. And even him is very inexperienced in old games, despite being a hardcore player from the arcade era. That was the period of peak popularily of Snk. But it just happens Snk fg never made any roots in the 90s arcade era in the us.

Yeah exactly. Strive is completely streamlined in a lot of ways but, at least it respects my time by just taking 80% of my health away in a couple seconds instead of making me sit there and wait for the combo to end after 40 seconds.
@@TheDeadTexan i wouldn't say the damage is higher than any other guilty gear game. I'd say since the game is easier the Damage is more consistent. In past games there were chances the opponent would drop the long damaging combos but in Strive it's like you get hit 4 times into a special then the wall breaks after a heavy hit/special an congrats you did 75% on a light weight character.
@@defianthound407 No, you're completely right, I just don't really know where the middle ground should be in Strive. In past GG games you had to put in a lot of work and not drop those long combos to get the insane damage. So when you do that to a newbie, they get immediately put off and don't want to come back to the game. Now they've made it possible for newer players to have that kind of offensive experience by giving the entire cast the chance to do 50% damage combos with minimal effort. The downside to that is that a skilled player has those same tools so the balance is even more lopsided.
I know everyone hates the wall break in Strive. It's implemented pretty poorly in the game. At its core, I completely understand what they were trying to do. They want to give a match new life by resetting the neutral and not having the player getting bodied feel like they're just never going to leave the corner which is what really kills a player's spirit in these games. The problem with how it is now, is that when you get to a wall break in this game, it's almost always at the end of a long combo or continued pressure so by the time the wall breaks you're going to be at around 10 to 15% HP so all you're really doing is delaying the inevitable and giving the attacking player free meter to kill you at will.
I still love Strive, I just know it's very early in its life, and hope to see it grow in a lot of ways down the line.
I mean it takes high risc gauge 50 meter and food meter as well....
@@Kizzie_Kay Nago is just a more consistent sin. With a worse outcome for poor meter management. When Sin gets a hold of you you have a slight chance to make it out with out getting blown up. But when Nago gets going you better pray they are a nut and don't pay attention to their meter.

A2 vs A3 is tricky because it would be interesting on paper, but just not on reality. All because strictly in the us fg scene, there's a strong bias to favor A2 as an obviously superior game. But that notion, from what I've seen, is more limited to the us. And these are all american players, and some of them are arcade guys, who maybe carry that bias until today.
It's that kind of viral things that can strongly influence people especially in their teen age back in the 90s. Like: maybe one guy didnt even have a proper understanding of A3, but he just heard "everybody" saying this and that, so that shaped his view on A3.
Just to give an example, in Japan A3 is mostly preferred. So much that there is still a competitive scene, but in those same places we never find A2 tourneys. Also Daigo is of that opinion, so that before A3 came out he was playing Darkstalkers more (besides ST). He didnt really respected A2 much.
Also even if KoF 14 was better than 13, nobody would say that, just because of the bad graphics and the mostly despised newcomers (and truly there are some very bad ones). Actually KoF 14 isnt much worse than 13, and the roster is still way better (13 has one of the worst rosters ever in a main title, but it's forgiven only because of its particular problematic making).
But it's sad that some people are so disgusted by the bad graphics that they refuse to judge every aspect of the game fairly, like there's nothing good in it.

@@capcomfan303 those graphics that were built from the ground up still don’t really look as good as MvC2. MvC2 has that type of look that screams with attitude. Reused assets? Wow...crazy how reused assets still look better than MvC3s graphics. MvC3 is for sure a cool game but the graphics annoyed me after knowing what MvC2’s art style looked like. I get it’s a different game but FighterZ did an incredible job at perfectly balancing 2.5d graphics to where the game looks straight out of the damn show. The art style of MvC2 had that old school 90’s comic book influence with the touch of Japanese style animation. Despite some of that Japanese animation consisting of reused assets, it still ended up being one of the best and classic looking fighting games out there. I can’t say the same for MvC3, it somewhat reminds me of certain art styles in some comic books and certain video games throughout the 2000s that personally aged worse than older art styles and looks worse than new art styles. Doesn’t mean I think MvC3 is bad looking, I just can’t get over how much better looking the older art styles are despite MvC2 being pixels. The animation was crisp, smooth, and has aged a lot better than MvC3. One thing I’ll give MvCI is that it personally has better graphics than MvC3 and I think they took a better step with its art style for a 3d fighting game. I feel like even SF4 looks better than MvC3

Marvel vs Capcom 2 for the simple reason of not having X factor or a comeback mechanic! This is in comparison to UMVC3 specifically since they are of the same series being a sequel of the other!
It was also easy to scrub out other scrubs if you were a scrub like me lol
@@marshinz5696 yeah lol and no way to break infinites which where prevalent in most of the top tier... All the game needed was no x factor and spend a bar to break out of any combo(specifically designed for infinites) and you'd have an even better game! A lot of those top tier teams were predicated on their infinites! A good work around for x factor is to have done a Capcom vs Snk 2 approach with being able to select one or two characters instead of three. So you lose and assist or two but you have higher defense and do a bit more damage! Just like what you were able to do in CVSNK 2!

@@DANCERcow Honestly it doesn't even need that. Just some character property buffs. High level MVC2 is centered around setplay and really fucked up strategies, which is the joy of the game. Infinites being one of them similar to Hokuto no Ken. You don't need to remove them for other characters to be viable.
Personally, I believe that match up of BBTag vs Blazblue shouldn't be a Match up becuz they are really different Games...
It should've been BBTag vs DBFz or MVCi
And Blazblue should've been against P4 Arena o A. Ultimax...
I had a lot of fun with BB Tag like I think having a fighting game full of janky bs again was really fun. It ain't competing with BBCF but as it's own thing I've played worse
BBTag would have been WAY more fun if it played like ANY of the games it pulled from... BB, UNIEL, P4U... all great games... I'm so disappointed

MvC 2 is the game that changed it all…
It was XvSF. That invented crossover, tag, giant bosses, etc. MvC2 is just an optimal definitive version. And all fgs have that kind of definitive version.
If 3rd strike didn’t have a whack cast, plus I was too young. USF4
Soul calibur 2+3 are both so much better than 4. If you wanted a hard one in this you would put SC2 vs SC3
I agree mostly with this, although I think blazblue tag team is better for newcomers
Two is busted but a a better consumer product and b i like the limited creativity the game gives you need and y to win but z is a personal choice and it opens up the playstyle possibilities tremendously
