This is a good story, and it depicts aspects of countless marriage failures. Once a girlfriend told me that divorces happened because couples married for the wrong reasons.
Blaming bad behavior on inebriation is a cop out. Drunkenness removes inhibitions and people do what they really want to do and act how and say what they really feel without any of the normal filters.

According to the story, Bobby was a rotten bastard who knowingly pursued another man's wife. Lyle, in my mind, had all good reason to out him. Lyle's wife made herself into a slut for having pursued the affair. I found this a good story that, despite concluding negatively for all the characters involved, was the fairest outcome 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Wow, Bobby is still hung up on Diana? His obsession is creepy. Diana’s way too comfortable keeping him around, no wonder Lyle's fed up.
One of the better "cheating" stories. Still has some grammatical errors but overall very entertaining, with characters who had some comp;exity and a plot with some nuance.
women's mistakes are the most dangerous. if you realize that your wife is unable to shake off her past, it is useless to talk and continue a relationship which is only a hypocritical facade, you must leave her immediately without explanations, especially if you are in love with her, because talking about it would make you fall into error again.

@@davieslungu4577 Don't get discouraged, it's like that for everyone. being weak because you love is not a flaw, in fact if only certain women knew it they would run after you, many understand the value of a love that goes beyond materiality and sex but continuously travels from the heart to the brain and vice versa. it is the 'true love that everyone wants. those who truly love do not allow themselves to be distracted because the mere thought of hurting or staying away from the one they love makes them give up immediately.

So why didn't she marry her ex-bf instead of her ivy league intellectual? It is likely because her ex was a skirt chaser, even when they were together. She wanted someone, who would be loyal and stable, as well as a good father.
The wife's mistake was wanting her emotionally controlled New England husband, to act like a southern swamp brawler. Something he could do, given the South Boston childhood, But his mother wanted him to be something better that a street thug.
She made the mistake, that destroyed her marriage, by caring more about her AP wants than her husbands needs. She thought she could convince her husband to overlook her transgressions. Unfortunately, she was wrong.
Action speak louder than words. And what you dont answer when asked a direct question, speaks volumes. Her father and her brother warned her that she was expect her husband to act like a local. And when he didn't, she consciously or unconsciously put her ex above her husband and marriage.
Lyle (the husband) may stay with her to be with his sons, but she will never feel the love or touch of her husband again. He will stay until the boys are out of the house. He will not abandon his love and responsibility to them.
A lot of women are clueless.
No, it's the other way around; husbands are not too sure to have fathered children but it's the wives who can surely say who fathered their children!
