[A Library Battle Simulation]
Library of Ruina is a game that uses the concept of a “Library Battle Simulation”.
You will invite guests to the Library and engage in combat with them to gain 'Books' with their stories.
Battles are played with the 'Librarians' and the 'Guests' using cards and dice.
You can plan against the guests’ moves by looking at the cards they will use and select the most optimal card to oppose them.
When combat begins, how the dice from your chosen card fall will determine victory or defeat in the struggle.
However, the outcome of the dice is not simply determined by pure luck.
Certain effects and variables will shift the outcome of the dice for and against your favor.
Be sure to carefully choose which cards you utilize to win the battle with your guests.
Behold the outcome of your choices and how luck unfolds as your librarians and guests skirmish.
You can go through an exhilarating experience, putting it all on the line with thrills just like betting.
[Conflicts that Build Emotion]
Confrontation in the Library is not just about killing your enemies, it is about heightening emotions.
The emotions of the librarians and guests rise as the battle progresses, and as it grows fiercer and comes to a head, they will surge.
Depending on your librarian's feelings, positive outcomes or powerful effects with penalties can occur.
In addition, as the emotional tension of the guests grows, the difficulty of combat increases, yet at the same time, rarer books can be acquired.
Furthermore, dialogue can appear depending on the situation of the battle and will make one’s viewing experience of the match unfolding even more enjoyable.
[Books Can Be Anything]
A guest who dies in the Library will turn into a book.
These books can be a librarian's body, materials to grow the Library, or new cards for battle.
You can also use books as the parts of an invitation to bring forth another guest.
Invite different guests to acquire various books, then utilize them accordingly.
How you make use of your collection to grow the Library is up to you.
*Myo:* On a side note, can you _please_ do something about the teleporter to make the process a bit smoother? It feels like my body's being taken apart piece by piece and thrown out a window.
*Angela:* I am afraid you will need to ask Company W about that. It's out of our control.

HOLY SHITT THE FORESHADOWING IS REAL
if its works dont fix it
I think the point of oscar admonishing Philip isn't that selflessness is wrong, or nobody should try to be selfless, it's that Philip's selflessness specifically is extremely twisted and misdirected. He's constantly beating himself up about it and focusing on how victimized HE is by the situation. He reassigns essentially all of the blame to himself, expects people to pity him, and is more concerned about righting his percieved mistakes than his actual comrades who died. He doesn't even tell salvador's family that he's dead, and there's no real indication that he's keeping it from them to save their feelings, he just legitimately seems to think that avenging his comrades is higher priority than notifying their loved ones of the situation and trying to see if like the insurance can help them or something.
So much this. Philip shows no signs of being selfless for anyone elses sake, as mentioned that he didn't even tell Salvadore's family about his passing.
His specific brand of Selflessness is entirely selfish, to the point where he's literally dragging Wedge Office to their deaths because HE feels bad about Dawn Office's deaths.
And to note, not wanting him in the office because it would damage their rep isn't as much of an insult as it seems at first.
As one of the girls said, a person so swayed by their emotions is unreliable in their line of work, and people see that. Bringing in an unreliable looking person to their office at the level of professionalism their office operates would be terrible for the office's rep, regardless of how good or right of a person Philip might be.
He doesn't look or act professional, he looks and acts like someone who tries to look and act professional.
also very importantly as soon as oscar offered him to come to the library he immediately agreed instead of checking if/what kind of insurance they have
which shows his that phillip is in fact not doing it to help others
He specifically says that he's too ashamed to meet them. So yes, his decision to not notify Salvador's family of his death is entirely based in his own desire to avoid shame and judgement for Salvador's death, completely ignoring that if he goes and dies in the Library, he's robbing them of any sense of closure for Salvador's death.

Queen of hatred is indeed one of the difficulty spike of the game since she a WAW + you are getting your 1st taste of what is a mass ATK.
The Milli song of this game always hit on the right spot when they play.
"2.71828182845904..."
Flamingo
Actually wait...
I AM FIIIIIIIREEEEE
i believe "selfless" itself is dangerous, the moment you think "i do this for other, not myself" suddenly you think that you cannot be wrong, just because you are morally right.
i think this is what the game trying to say, if your "helping" just made more trouble is it really helping?
The Angela is specifically talking about Ayin and his actions in that conversation even if she doesn't name drop him.
"Justice worth sacrificing for"
Personally I know selflessness can be dangerous for reasons not mentioned above, as it can also come from a lack of self value.
In best cloaker voice. “This is what we call a difficulty tweak”
I would say Tiphereth isn't a child simply due to 10 years passing in real time. Even without the time loops she would still be an adult. Makes perfect sense to have an adult body now.
Note: this is not meant to be an argument to simp. I just don't think she should be a child after going through 10,000 years of bullshit in the span of 10 years.
Edit: Alright, Roland treating her like a child is fucking hilarious.
Foreman: debut of my newly fashioned skin
Philip:
It was a no holds barred fashion show
And I won (cuz Tas does great work)
But Philip is clearly the better fighter
Very minimal but important general tip: I'm sure somebody else will also say this, or perhaps you've already made a habit of it by the time this video's come out; but you NEED to remember to check for extra passives, by scrolling, when checking a guest or abno's passives! Sometimes there's some pretty important stuff there that can absolutely make or break a battle
Like I said, very minimal but forgetting to do it can fuck you over, I know it has for me in the past lmao
As well as status effects. It seems like he doesn’t take strength, feeble, paralysis, or other related effects into much consideration when creating clashes and strategising tbh
Love Town is probably the most creeped out something has made me without actually being scary. It's just so incredibly wrong. Also don't worry about Queenie. It took me til the next rank of receptions to beat her.
Ah yes, the town.... what a fun town
We are all 100% okay with you raging at any of Tiph's abno suppressions. Good luck.
Yeah 😂
I mean... All of Tiph abno just... Super annoying if you didn't really know how to counter them, except that one Abno that basically the most easiest abno suppression in Tiph floor
@@aisir3725 easy? Yes. Fun? No. RNGesus can be very mean. Especially if you unlock 2nd as early as possible, RNGesus is VERY mean
@@aisir3725 well yeah, once you know everything. I played my first playthrough blind, and i got extremely fed up with it extremely quickly (i also sort of thought that the gimmick was to kill all 3 blades at the exact same time and avoid the danger phase entirely. That being incorrect kinda tilted me too lol)
rng jesus mean? i lost to bloodbath 3-5 times and to finn 1 time@@CorwinTheOneAndOnly
this is the stage in ruina where im REALLY interested to start seeing your reactions to the upcoming content. Really excited to see how you fair with the 50000 upcoming vertical difficulty spikes too
Social Sciences is when the abno battles start wildly outscaling the receptions needed to unlock them. That's not too much of a problem since you can just progress up a tier or two before trying again... usually.
Honestly I never encountered needing to progress before doing abnos, i just slammed my head against the wall that is the abnos till they gave way.
Damn, Philip truly is fire.
Jokes asidde, I loved Foreman's reaction to Philip's situation and Love Town. So many other UA-camrs would take the chance to do some half-baked joke to defuse the tension but Foreman accepts and embrace it.
Classy guy.
Angela casually having a panic attack (she's becoming human)
Just as in Lobotomy Corporation, Tiphereth’s arrival marks the end of the game’s “prologue” so to speak, as things get bigger as well as more difficult.
Ah yes love town... One boss fight I will never willingly redo. Once again back to the vault of things we will never speak of.
What an absolutely jam packed episode. One of the most despised abnormality fights, and two of the story beats that usually hook anyone that makes it this far.
On top of that, Rine made it in! After first seeing how many nuggets were in the wheel that really surprised me! May Rine help you just as much as she has helped me.
Anyways! More art book details if you're into that sort of thing.
Pamela: 26 years old - clips interesting news articles as a hobby - likes cheesecake and herbal tea - dislikes water celery - grade 4 fixer
Pameli: 29 years old - changes her hobbies regularly - likes water celery and a healthy diet - dislikes sweet foods - grade 4 fixer
Oscar: 53 years old - enjoys seeking for newsworthy topics - likes tea with a good scent - dislikes clothes with intense colors - grade 3 fixer
One more thing I find funny. Despite how he seemed, Oscar's personality traits are described as (Just • Decent • Honest). Take that how you will.
This is probably one of the first things people will tell you when facing Love Town, but Tomerry in Korean loosely sounds like the word for “Vomit Head”.
Edit:
I meant comments to streamers! Of course it isn’t the first thing people say when you finish Love Town as an individual.
Another fun fact I found while searching for something else: Tomerry was in the train for 724,284 days, or roughly 1984 years. Not sure how the Orwellian classic relates well with this particular story (maybe it’s linked to the overarching narrative) but neat nonetheless
Well that was new so thanks
Bruh I've known this game for 1.5 years and this is the first time I've ever heard of it
I never heard about 'vomit head' in korean PM community
@@mongshal 아니, 님. 싸울 애들 이름 자체가 '토-머리' 인데 어떻게 모르신지 의문이네요. 어쨌든 프문은 문과천재의 모임인듯.
One of the songs in the game's soundtrack is called 'Salt, Pepper, Birds, and the Thought Police', so I wouldn't be surprised if it was deliberate.
They do share a lot I think. I'm trying to avoid plot specifics for spoilers sake for other people who might read this, so sorry if this comes across as a bit wishy-washy.
The most obvious similarity is a totalitarian government in the form of the Party and the Head that both check off dozens of 'authoritarian regime' tropes (all-seeing-eye motifs, deliberate social stasis, industrialized violence against the populace etc), but that's hardly rare in narrative.
What really connects them I think is they both heavily beat the audience over the head with the idea of language used as a weapon. In 1984 the greatest weapon of the Party isn't portrayed as being their military or their telescreens; it's Ingsoc, the party-created language meant to make the ability to express many ideas impossible. Ruina likewise heavily brings up the effect of language on thought. I can't bring up my favourite examples since most are later in the game, but the best example up to this point is pointing out how ruthless Yesod and Hod are in criticizing Roland's catchphrase and his reliance on it.
Now you know the meaning when we say “We don’t talke about love town”
Yes I have been so afraid~
Yes I have been so distant
Consistently indifferent
I'm sorry, actually, not really...
There's just so much work
Too much work to be done
Also it's interesting to see how different playstyles have issues with different fights. For me, because of the meme decks I kept doing, the Oscar/Philip fight was a joke, but Tomerry beat my ass into the ground.
Not too bad today for the first couple difficulty spikes. I did want to touch on how Mass Attacks work though, as I feel you may have sped through the tutorial without fully digesting it and it may come back to bite you. There's also some aspects of it that aren't clearly explained, so I will just clarify for good measure (better safe than sorry in this game):
Summation: The card's value is rolled against the total sum of all dice rolls on the page of the speed die it's attacking. You must roll a total value equal to or greater than the opposing roll, or else your entire page will be destroyed. For example, let's say a 8-12 Mass Summation goes against a page with 3x 3-5 dice. If the Mass Summation rolls a 10, and your 3 dice roll 3/4/5, then you would successfully negate it since 3+4+5 = 12 which is greater than 10. Similarly, rolling 3/3/4 would also negate the attack since 3+3+4 = 10 which is equal to 10.
Individual: The card rolls each of its individual die against each individual die on the page of the speed die it's attacking. This is more like how a normal "Clash" would work (although not actually a clash). For example if a 3x 3-5 Individual Mass Attack faces off against a 3x 3-5 combat page, and the enemy rolls 3/3/3 and you roll 4/4/4, then you'd completely negate it. Similarly, if they rolled 5/4/3 and you rolled 4/4/4, then only the enemy's first die will result in a "win". Thus only your first die would be destroyed and only their first die would deal damage.
Also note that challenging a Mass Attack card does not count as an actual "clash", and so "On Clash" effects would do nothing when blocking against it. For example, trying to use a card that has dice with the effect "On Clash, gain +2 Power", would not result in any power gain when the page is rolling against the Mass Attack.
In addition, keep in mind that Mass Attacks go before anything else, meaning if you lose the "clash" then that respective dice/page will be destroyed and thus the proceeding combat phase will be played without it. Why this matters is that Mass Attacks "force" you to "clash" with whatever card you put in the targeted speed slot. However, this does mean you can use the same card being targeted by the Mass Attack to also target another enemy speed die. So if your card wins against the Mass Attack, then you are essentially getting double value out of it and killing two birds with one stone. However keep in mind that if you lose against the Mass Attack, your dice or entire page will be destroyed, meaning the other die you targeted will likely be uncontested.
There's also some other tricks and tips involving Mass Attacks that I won't go into detail about here. And yes, there's a lot to digest, but we're not even to everyone's "favorite" mechanic yet (Counter Dice). And although you'd surely get used to these new mechanics over time, it's best to attempt understanding them ASAP, so you don't bleed out too many books and cripple your progress (some of the fights get really long and tedious). As usual, best of luck moving forward - you will need it.
OH IT SO IS.
IT'S TIME.
TO KEEP SILENT.
NEVER. TALK. ABOUT. LOVE. TOWN.
Glad you didn’t cut the song, milli doesn’t come up often but when it does it’s a good moment to experience
Ive heard from somewhere that the battle music for Philips special round after the wedge office is actually free music you can find online.
Yes it's "Warriors" by dark fantasy studios who also made alot of the music for Lobcorp, most notably both of the day 50 tracks which are "we will be giant" and "Sun and Moon"
All their music is copyright free, and they make really nice music I recommend everyone to support them because of that and also the folks and PM really like their work and using it
Ahh yes Philip got his Shonen anime protag awakening, and of course... the train shenanigans...wish.. i would rather not experience again... Oh right and of course how could i forget about the queen...the first abno roadblock.
I like seeing all these monsters, like the fairies, in this game and Limbus Company without the LC manager filter XD
Let's go, we finally reached the part where the game get's reaaalllyyy interesting, because you finally got through half of the tutorial. Yes, people still consider this part as the tutorial, good luck.
But now get's to the flavour texts:
Singing machine:
Normal:
"All other music is nothing more than noise to me…"
"If everyone threw their bodies into me, it’ll certainly create an even sweeter melody…"
"The music that wraps around me… I want to hear it again… Let me hear it once more…"
"It’s because you didn’t hear it yet… You’ll choke up in awe, I bet…?"
"The performance guides my body… It makes me lift my limbs…"
When 'I CRAVE that Melody!' is active:
"You want to be a good instrument, don’t you?"
"Make me move… Light my path with the songs!"
"Hahaha… Ha… What will I do? What can I do? Haha…"
"Beautiful music must come at a price…"
"The air is full of erratic and filthy noises… I need gorgeous timbres…"
When 'Performance' is activated:
"Nothing could make as fascinating music as a human can…"
"Let me hear this performance longer…"
"Eternal happiness would be mine if this tune lasted forever…"
"Yes! This is it… Behold this powerful melody!"
"If this performance that substitutes my soul reaches an end… I’ll…"
Fairy Festival:
Normal:
"I need something fresh… I’ve been starving for a long while…"
"Only few fairies protect me now…"
"Be gentle with my fairies… They’re precious beings…"
"I want meat… Unspoiled… And clean…"
"Only soft and tender meat can fill this empty stomach…"
Care:
"I’ll give you the pleasure of receiving my care…"
"Enjoy the fairies’ care to your heart’s content…"
"Be thankful that you are under my sacred care…"
After eating an ally with 'Prepared Meat' status:
"Scarred and rotten meat isn’t tasty…"
"Meat has to be kept fresh, I must eat it before it spoils…"
"My fairies are dwindling in numbers… I need them to serve and protect me…"
After eating all allies:
"I’ve starved for so long, I can hardly resist myself…"
"It’s your duty to protect me…"
"Come to me… It’s time to pay for my care…"
I'll post QoH's flavour text under the video where you actually defeat her, same for all other abnos
Ah yes the queen of hatred the first difficulty spike in the game. It was such a hard fight that only way to beat it was to use prenerf bleed deck or use full stop office page(they gain power in the first turn) and guns to kill her like in 3 turns.
About Philip, you haven't noticed it but he starts with two buffs(one of them makes him take 5 less damage from hits and burn the attacker and other just shows when he will play a 40 dice page he uses at 1:35:41) and lastly just a reminder 1:42:12 Eileen was the leader of chuch of gears.
Oh my goodness, the fact that Lily and Lilli got onto the same floor is hilarious! x3
Forget to mention that remembrance passive you get from The Carnival in your previous episode, having +2 strength for 4 allies is very useful its enough bonus dicepower will even turn the normally feeble light recover/card draw cards into a decent offensive dice provided you are willing to perform blood sacrifice.
And with card that give strength(observe, all the musician cards, dried up) onto of that you can become a terrifying horror God who rolls 3-4 dice like their 9-11 dice
Yes I have been so afraid
AHHHHHHHH finally.
A day where there's a new Foreman Ruina video is a good day
I had ptsd flashback at when the queen appeared ;-; anyone else remember the hell that was this suppression
Alot of people end up not doing her for quite a long while
Roland: I'm glad to meet one amiable librarian. Time to speedrun making enemies with her by joking about bringing her a picture book!
I might have mentioned it in previous comments but I'm not as familiar with LoR as I was with LobCorp, so I wasn't actually aware of the specifics of the first conversation between Tiphereth and Roland, but I knew it was going to be something else and boy howdy Project Moon delivered XD
I love Hod 3rd battle theme... It is erratic.I don't want to scavenge through all comments and just mention - all music in game can be separated in 3 categories:
- music of floor
- music of enemy
- music of a person
Music of floor and enemy have 3 phases. 1st phase paying on emotion level 0-1, 2nd on emotiomusic of floor n level 2-3, 3d on level 4+. Choice of "whose theme to play?" determined by whose team have more emotional conis. Only exception is music of a person, it will always be chosen over others.
Hod 3rd battle has the discord ping notif sfx, try it out. Then you won't be able to unheard it...
Advice for Queen: Seeing as she is a ranged user, pages with one big offensive die like "heavy peaks", "destructive impact", " shocking blow" etc. will do well against her. She mostly uses offensive dice, so bleed will do a lot of damage to her. And finally, mass attack pages go before On Use effects are activated, so "scratch that!" is really good for blocking her mass attack. And, of course you can't really afford to use key pages without extra speed dice here or she'll just action economy you to death. I've beaten her around where foreman is right now (my only remaining nugget was almost dead by the end, but still) with a Sayo build for bleed, a Workshop-affiliated fixer build for big offensive dice(with speed attributed) and a Walter build with lots of block dice, protection and health recovery that Queen could hit when her Hysteria got too high for comfort.
EDIT: all of them also had "scratch that!" to block the mass attack.
This right here, is why we don't talk about Love Town.
musical addiction is a great card for offensive only builds, i have a single nugget i consistently give only cards with offensive die, then give her musical addiction and she just melts through enemies
as of fairy festival it feels like she was added in particular to be an aesthetic vibe check, being sort of the moment in which you realize why the cognition filter in lc existed, as most other abnos just look similar to their lc counterparts, that said all of her cards minus maybe predation are amazing since consistent ways to heal in this game are very rare
As of the philip scene... im pretty sure angela is just projecting her rage against A when talking about selfishness disguised as "for the sake of others"
Great video. You got to experience W corp's wild ride, and were you that afraid, cause yes, I have been so afraid.
Also grats to getting to where people say the difficulty increase becomes vertical (QoH, The wedge office and Tomarry (though the latter did get nerfed from early access version)), and you did well with QoH fight, seeing how close you got
Well. If you want to know about Pilip's (as I will now call them) transformation, I am pretty sure it gets told fairly soon in game. (I wouldn't consider telling what is going on a spoiler for certain reasons, but better not risk it, so I will just say it should be told soon.)
If you look closer Pamali is taller than her sister in the flashblack.
She's also three years older at 29.
Yes, these are fully-grown adults.
Queenie, Wedge office _and_ Love Town in a single episode. Wonderful.
No shame in leaving Queenie for later. It isn't required to get to Urban Nightmare, and for a good reason. Good luck on Wedge Office though, it's generally considered harder than even Love Town.
Well, let's talk abnormality pages!
*Singing Machine*
Extra damage is always welcome in Yesod's floor, and Music delivers a _lot_ of extra damage in exchange for extra stagger damage. It only comes online on emotion level 5, but it's still a pretty nice page.
Unfortunately, it's on Yesod's floor, 'pretty nice' just doesn't cut it, and you will almost never pick this page because of how hilariously outclassed it is compared to Yesod's other level 3 pages.
Rhythm is a nice +1 Strength to a librarian that would eventually spread to your other librarians as well. It's not bad, but you have far better options in Metallic Ringing and Violence.
Musical Addiction is the real winner of this abnormality. +2 Power on average is incredible, and on Yesod's floor defensive dice shouldn't matter as much. Because of how abnormality pages work, you'll only see it if you're losing after you finish decking out Technological Sciences, but it can single-handedly save you from the brink of loss.
*Fairy Festival*
The Fairies' Care is a good page in theory, but you'll only get it while you're losing, so chances are the librarian you stick it on will take those three hits and suffer more damage. Situational.
Gluttony, on the other hand, is insanely good. Malkuth wants sustain, and Gluttony gives you a reliable heal with no questions asked. When you have the option to take Gluttony, you would usually take Gluttony.
Predation...Predation is very much a tempo card. 3 Strength and Haste will let your librarian choose their clashes and win pretty reliably, but it only lasts for one turn, so you have to make it count. There are usually better options though.
37:58 "I'm something of a scientist myself"
Welcome to the phenomenon known as Manifesting EGO. With the Light that was spread from Lob Corp, a person may manifest their own EGO given the right circumstances. However, there is a risk with it outside of its activation conditions. Though when undertaken, even a normal person can gain the power to challenge the Head.
Also, Pameli did not have the same body in that image, she was actually taller than Pamela. Her life was saved at the cost of effectively becoming Pamela's nigh identical twin.
L O V E L O V E.
a story of L O V E developed over 1984 years
Finally found out while the music before the wheel spin sounded so familiar. I'm not sure if it originated it fortune street, but it was definitely in the arcade of fortune street.
You're pretty much on the money, it's the casino theme from Dragon Quest 8
@@ForemanPlaysStuff I had a feeling it was gonna be something from dragonquest.
tiphereth punching him giving him "flashbacks"
damn
To be fair, with maybe 70-80+ employees in the LobCorp series, and 130ish entries on the wheel, and assuming many of these entries are from LobCorp, there's actually a fairly high chance of getting lots of repeat employees. I believe this is a case of what the cool kids call "Synchronicity" wherein, because an event seems significant to you once, it appears to happen more frequently than it should because you're more likely to take mental note of it and remember it, when in reality it's happening about as many times as it should, but do be warned, I didn't crunch the numbers so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.
I also love how, when you get absolutely steamrolled in this game, the correct solution is never to just grind, the game forces you to get smart and creative with your deckbuilding to keep up with it's ever more complex and challenging battles, most RPGs generally just make your "Time spent" the only quantity that really matters to the gameplay, it's pretty rare that turn-based combat legitimately feels like you need to unravel an intentionally built puzzle.
18:56 well, Musical Addiction is a good abno card if your nuggets just play full Unga Bunga (just offensive dice, no block or eva dice) and pretty much OP with Violence abno card, Chained Wrath abno card (if you play full offensive with Blunt majority dice), and Cleaning abno card, but for some people always look Musical Addiction abno card is worst abno because deffensive is fixed by 1
About Mass attack work :
Individual Mass Attack = it's same like how you do clash, the difference is you do the clash with everyone in target or all your nuggets do clash with the one that doing mass attack, the losing dice on mass clash will broken by individual (if lose on second dice but win first and third, then only first and third dice will play after that)
Summation Mass attack = It's work with sum all of your dice roll, example (QoH do sum mass attack with 13-13 roll dice, so her roll will be 13, except if she has strength or feeble to affect her dice roll then your nuggets will clash with it in this way, said you using "Scratch That" for clash with it, then you have 15 (5+5+5) roll as the lowest and 30 (10+10+10) sum roll as highest "you have triple 5-10" dice roll after all, but because card effect is reduce 2 power dice, then your actual roll become triple "3-8" rolls, so the lowest sum is 9 (3+3+3) and highest is 24 (8+8+8) if you win clash with summation mass attack, you still can use all your dice next, but if you lose is then all your dice is broken)
Reminder : you didn't need to actually target enemy speed dice that using mass attack to clash, just use combat page that you want to clash on your speed dice that getting targeted, so you can use 1 combat page for another clash with normal combat page (if you win you go clash with another dice that you choose to clash, but if you lose all your dice is broken then you got one-sided attack from enemy instead and effect from your broken combat page is not working either if you lose to mass attack clash)
the episode I've been most hype for, on my birthday? is good day
Something more horrific I've noticed while fighting Tommerry is that when they enrage. If you zoom in on Tommerry you can see you've completely killed Tom & Merry is crying on their sprite...
yep- that's why when phase 2 hits tomerry says "tommy, tommy, where are you- I need you" or something along those lines
Ah we take are so afraid
Ah yes, Wrath of Torment my beloved. One of my favorite cards just for the sheer Unga Bunga of it. If you need a card with high rolls, WoT is your card, especially if you put it on Yesod's floor. Blunt Dice for the win. Also, Good luck on everyone's favorite crybaby and the Queen of Salt. Now onto game mechanics!
Honestly, I like to think of Mass Attacks as a big ol' artillery barrage. Imagine big, flashy nonsense flying overhead as you're trying to fight, independent of the actual battle. When you get targeted by a Mass Attack, you can't target it back or redirect it in any way cause it's targeting everyone, randomly, like a rain of fire. Instead, your nugget is trying to push THROUGH the rain of fire to reach their ACTUAL target. Lose, and your nugget gets hit by a big something and gets interrupted, resulting in a destroyed combat page and a nugget very vulnerable to retaliation. Win, and your nugget successfully pushes through the barrage and reaches the opposing enemy, whereas combat proceeds as normal. Pretty cool.
Also, remember all those lovely "on use" pages you like using to gain light and draw cards? Yea, place one of those in front of a mass attack and you're going to be out all those fancy bonuses. With the card destroyed, the "on use" effect never procs, leaving you a very sad man. I sometimes find that if you have to choose between putting a weak page in front of a Mass Attack and putting nothing there, it's actually best to just save the card in the end. They can't use a Mass Attack on EVERY turn after all, right?
Right....?
Edit: I forgot to mention, but buffs and debuffs like Strength and Feeble still function for/against Mass Attacks, and can HEAVILY influence your ability to defend against them, so be aware of that.
Ah, the queen, the train, and ol phillipe. This is the difficulty wall, this is where you start to lose. For one, from now on the whole "lore accurate pages" isnt going to cut it. You need to cannibalize the decks on other floors so that the floors you're using to fight have the best available or you will not suceed. This game doesn't take kindly to fooling around. Keeping extra pages equiped on the floors you arent using is the one thing holding you back the most right now. For queen, personally I recommend bleed decks. And eventually when you can actually use tiph floor, i recomend it. By far my favorite floor in abnos, style, and music.
Anyway, onto the fun things. Mass attacks are weird. Most of them are summation attacks. Essentially just add all the dice values up and see if they beat whatever's on the other page. Individual mass attacks essentially act like aoe normal pages.
And love town... we can talk about them later. There's honestly not much to say right now. And as much as Phillip is memed on for running away, he's my favorite character. He could've been such a hero but he got stuck with all the worst situations and people to help him in the most important moment of his life. Also his pages are awesome. And one winged phillip's boss theme is royalty free!
Something something epic poems. im sure there's a cool quote for this situation
Eh, you can build out each floor with a different strat, but yeah, you will be rotating a few key pages between floors until you have the super lategame stuff to fill out those final few slots. But then, you really only have mods left and those give you stuff that eclipse whatever you have anyway.
at least in Nightmare tier he'll have some good key pages coming his way.
@Rotom Channel Chess pieces. Enough said :P
You could totally beat QoH with your current stuff. What you've failed to remember is that ranged pages clash in a different way, so, a single fat die can beat three ranged dice. Something like Bono's 3 cost or Heavy Peaks would do wonders. Bringing Bremen in general would work since they can inflict Feeble to her without having to try while also being able to buff each other reliably since you have only three librarians in this fight.
the warp traing became an abnormality on its own
So... About love town......
this is a few details in love town
If you see it when tommery hit half health or lower tommy head dies. Aka he probably take the brunt of the damage. And with that tommy will never be a wuss in my book
Hah, I been waiting for this, and also I’m surprised you got that far in queen of hatred.
Also, don’t mention the cheese method… :)
A couple tips since your getting close to the difficulty cliff.
1. Try to have each nugget clash in the first round as clashing will give you emotion points. Winning or losing, clashing is the best way to get points. Critical rolls, either min or max, also give emotion points but you can't usually rely on this. and of course If your nugget goes up an emotion level, all light is restored I'm sure you've noticed.
2. + dice power or Strength are the best passives you can get unless doing something like a solo build or needing to make a specific tank build for an abno/floor strat. After all, if you win all clashes, you never take damage.
3. Once you get a bunch of abnos for a floor, you'll start to see how to build that floor. Its best to synergize floors based on what they want you to build for.
4. Soon some General Receptions will give you some insanely strong key pages and cards, but you've been keeping up on them so that should make things much easier for you.
5. Don't feel bad if you have to come back to an abno fight with more powerful cards. Some are absolutely brutal when doing them when they are first unlocked, but thats up to you. Content is content after all!
6. Try to build out keypages instead of nuggets and favorite them so you can swap between them easily. You'll need to do this in the mid-late game. Additionally you can empty a key page by clicking on the 4 buttons on the outside of the equip part of the page when scrolling over it.
If you are struggling later in the game I can give more specific tips if you ask for them. I can also give you a super tip that'll carry you very, very far. But its what they use for speedruns so I wont give it unless you ask specifically.
i may be wrong but i dont think a 0-0 clashing internal die exists
@@antonkremov20 its why you get emotion points even though the opponent has no dice to clash with, or at least thats how I understand it. Since you don't get emotion points unless you crit or kill on one sided attacks.
@@archmagemc3561 you also get emotion for rolling max/min on your dice, so you could get 3 emotion in a 3v2 clash that way
Actually, I'm pretty sure the second half of 1. is outdated information. While it did work that way in the past, it was changed near the end of the game's development, which was compensated for by lowering the amount of emotion coins needed to reach each level.
@@Parkna Hm, well, I'll take your word for it, it doesn't change much either way.
alright, now its time for a reading check
Man I don't remember the last time I felt so hyped watching youtube. Life is kinda stale and suck-y and your videos are keeping my spirits high!
OK
THIS FUCKING RECEPTION
so I'm gonna go on a slight rant
as someone who's been a long time fan of mili, I kinda found this game through mili and not the other way around
I was so goddamn excited to learn that the sequel to lob Corp had mili music in it, though I had already listened to string theocracy a long time ago when I didn't know about PM
and getting to this reception, the story of which legitimately mildly traumatised me for a day and getting to tomerry
and the first long awaited instance of mili music being *t* *h* *i* *s*
HOW THE FUCK DO YOU THINK I FELT
Well technically the first instance Is the intro
@@christhethinker6791 I had heard the intro long ago, so I wasn't counting that
@@thefrostbite1135
Also is it possible to hear And Then is Heard no More first?
@@christhethinker6791 nope, that's in the next section
Also try not to mention the names of things that haven't happened yet
@@thefrostbite1135
I mean, i don't think song titles matter much
I uh... I see why tiphereth already has 2 librarians with her... QoH seems very hard. Also the train shit is straight out of a horror game and I love it, the horrific concept of the train alone was enough to give me the creeps but what they ended up doing to those people making a strange little town in the infinite train is screwed up. Also Also the (intestine?) Lights in the background totally made an owo and I couldn't stop seeing it. Also also, this is one of the first fights where I didn't feel even a semblance of sadness for killing the enemies, since in this case this is literally the only way they could die after being tortured for essentially forever, so in a way the invitation being sent rhere was a good thing.
If it weren't for the fact that there are no clowns I would've thought that the train was what the red ordeals were based off of.
The game is a lot easier if you only build out a few pages and swap them between the floors as you use them than it is when you try to build out every single floor with relevant pages and cards.
I'm shure this will be downplayed by the fact you tackelled Love Town... But the thing with Wedge office is not that they are cold uncaring bastards, they all try to help Philip in different ways, just look at how Pameli was giving him a reality check at the beginning, before starting to act bitchy...
The thing with Wedge Office, specially Oscar is that when Philip appeared at their door he was blabbering moral shit (Philip himself said that in his E.G.O. manifestation), and the real problem with that ISN'T the fact that he did it, nor the fact that he was getting others involved in a personal matter, no... the real problem is that Philip was wholeheartedly convinced that he was being purely and absolutely selfless to the core for doing what he did, doing what he was doing, and acting as he was about to act... and Roland, Angela and SPECIALLY Oscar were condemning that, but while Angela basically detached herself from morality and Roland had a grimm lookout of life because loosing everything and shit (not spoiler, Remember Roland said his wife and unborn child died on a colapsed house), Oscar understood more about the situation at hand (A passage in one of the book says that Wedge an Dawn operators were close friends), and he was furious that Philip was disrespecting the actions of Salvador throwing his life away and at the same time claiming convinced that it was "For Salvador's sake"... the lesson here was not "Be a selfish ass bitch because there is no other way of living", the lesson was "Acknowledge that you are selfish before taking a selfless action" for if the contrary is true, you'll end up making an enemy of everyone, and will twist their words until you are the only morally upright person in the world by your own definition
That was a behaviour so ingrained in Philip's mind that the moment he started to realize he was in the wrong (again, not wrong as objectevely/morally wrong, but wrong in the way he was thinking of the world around him) he literally started to manifest E.G.O. (he has one passive literally called "Unstable Shell of EGO")
Philip is a really dangerous person, but not because he is willing to crush everyone in his path or somethi sinnester like Roland and Angela try to believe, but because in trying to be the one stranding straight, he'll make everyone around him drown, intentionally or otherwise...
And also that's why Oscar worded what his concern was the way he did... "Accepting someone like you would give us a bad name", it's not about his capabilities or honour or the fact that he is emotional... but the fact given enoght time or the right circumstances, someone like Philip could start to parade as a paragon of righteousness and morality in a world were the average population knows for a fact that something like that is delusional at best
in any case, while this is what Oscar is trying to make Philip understand, he himself is going with the right mindset in the same situation: his good old friend is dead, now Philip appears and despite everything he accepts him in... he says it himself: "This is the least I can do to bear responsability for my old friend's death", Oscar knows that he is being selfish AND with that knowledge he is doing the selfess act to take Philip and try save the people of Dawn Office.
There is one more thing about all this but you need to beat the reception so... nothing more I can say
TL;DR:
Oscar is right. Angela, Roland and specially Philip are wrong.
Philip's power up happend because he realized he was wrong.
Oscar is like a opositeminded Philip, he does a selfless act believing he is acting for himself only (and he doesn't get a power up because he is as tsundere as you can get about it, so he doesn't accept that he is doing something selfless)
just so you know, you can lift a key page passives cards and all and just slap it on another librarian. not sure if you're committed to not doing that or if you didnt know
I can go on and on about one of my favourite part of the game
But we don't talk about Love Town
JOHN BLOODBORNE
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE!
Man I LOVE this game what a Lovely video
Queenie is similar to Hod, a veritable wall of a boss in early game, leading to mid game, that can bend you over and snap you like a twig if you go in unprepared. She's even more despised here than her Lob Corp version.
Some did the calculations on the amount of days spent in the train but if I remember right it was like a bit over 2000 years they spent in that train.
Which is MAGNUTUDES greater ther the time of life they had outside the train
Reception of love town is certainly iconic and memorable
We don’t talk about love town
Ah, Queen of Hatred, my first wall.
Welcome to difficulty spike, Foreman.
From a place of love was my favorite Mili song ever since it's release and now I can't hear it without having PTSD
YES!!!!!!!!
At first I was like the...the train from lobcorp? But then I was like oh, THAT train... oh lol did u change the title Haha
"Love town is so creepy and 1st trumpet is such a good song for the abnormalities-how will they top that to make love town even spookier?"
*I've Been So Afraid begins playing*
*Cue confused screaming*
Ahh… Love town…
….I… just… mmm….
I.. get it now.. yes.
We don’t talk about Love Town. Mmm yes.. never.
the duality of the LoR fanbase:
1. We dont talk about the town
2. we are posting the entire lyrics in the comments
L.O.V.E L.O.V.E
Yes, I have been so afraid
Yes, I have been so distant
Consistently indifferent
It's hard to put that in an amicable sentence
I'm sorry
Actually, not really
There's just so much work
Too much work to be done
Committing to commitments
Hiding my indulgence
The freedom we sacrifice for love
L-O-V-E-L-O-V-E
(L-O-V-E-L-O-V-E) You also made me unafraid
(Yes I'm da brave boi)
You gave me light (filament)
You're patient (physician)
Persistently listen (gentlemen)
It's hard to describe what I'm feeling at the moment
Are you (uh-huh?)
Uhm (yes?)
I mean
(You're) In love with me
It's just so much fun
Too much fun
Oh, come on
How could you say no? (Don't say no)
To the fast and furious swan boat (flamingo)
The excitement we mistake for love
L-O-V-E-L-O-V-E
L-O-V-E-L-O-V-E
Though I enjoyed it all
Still, I have my doubts
You're a nice girl
I'm just not ready now
But then mommy said
It ain't family biz
Get over it
Toughen up
Just like the man we expected
So when are you gonna take the chance?
Let us be one
We are one (la-la)
All for one (la-la)
One for everyone
We stick together
Family is forever
Inside the train, we walked down the aisle
Furthermore
Our love opened the door
To a vehicle I'd rather not enter
Seconds later, a new future
I know that I agreed to this myself (myself, myself)
I wish it was their fault
Now I regret
Wish we were dead
Before we started feeding on each other
Blood is thicker
But the drink I prefer is water
Now that it's over (wish we never)
Listened to them (forged up our hearts)
Mixed up our souls (let's pretend)
That it didn't happen
Forbid (forbid)
Forgive (forgive)
Forget
L-O-V-E-L-O-V-E
L-O-V-E-L-O-V-E
Love, love

this are comments for the video.... it supposed to contain spoilers
@@viles1450 I didn’t spoil anything
Loved It! I've been waiting for your reaction to love town from the start of the series.
BTW, I'm pretty sure mili doen't copy strike videos of the games with their music, so if you do get demonitized, it should be repealed if you contest it. Not 100% certain of that though.

i think you should note that the library at this point is filled with alot of librarians now, but the game only allows you to use a limited amount at a time. so ya, lorewise, alot of librarians are present when receiving guests
also the library has claimed alot of victims off screen as well
I swear to god that they balanced Queen of Hatred around the old bleed where it doesn't lower everytime it procs, and then they forgot the fight ever existed since it basically went untouched till the end (Except for the )
It has so much things you have to balance, your very limited light your changed resistances your stagger her attacks her current transformation bar her mass attack
Theres a cheese for it still, but I tried to use solely the minimum with just kurokumo pages no cheese and damn its still hell. Atleast it was fun coming up with an idea and basically made me appreciate my favorite combat page more, Cum(ulus) Wall
Welcome back. Now you will have a train PTSD.
I like that i make my Tiphereth cosplay as Tanya from Youjo Senki using an Key page and a hat gift.
when i got to philip after below 10 tries i was also like wth i just used fervent beats on roland but at that time i dint met kurokumo clan and the fact i would have to remake my whole build because of how overpowered their pages are after i remade the build with their pages i won first try only loosing someone to philips ult
What an episode. A bunch of new friends joined, Yesod warming up to Roland, we found someone's sassy lost child, smacked around some nasty bugs, someone got thrown into a grinder, bloodbourne came by with an anime protag, beware the magical girl & the town we don't speak of. It was also really entertaining seeing you get so invested and heated in the dialogue of cutscenes. The game really does hit on some hefty topics at times, lots of philosophical questions and morally grey discussions. Hopefully the comments can mind spoilers well from this point on. I can't wait for the next episode, was quite anxious waiting for this one!
Going to also drop this as I know myself and many others tend to have difficulties with fully understanding them, regarding Mass Attacks and how they work; You cannot redirect Mass Attacks targeting a speed die, nor do they ever 'Clash'. The targeted die and it's selected card simply dictate whether or not the Mass Attack's die will work or not against that target. "Summation" cards will remove an entire die's page if it succeeds over the page's combined rolls against it, losing though means the target essentially 'avoids' the attack and keep the page & it's die for use in the turn order. "Individual" Mass attacks will work the same, but for individual dies matched against the selected page's die instead of the whole page, only remove the page if all the target's die lose in rolls.
Fun fact: Rome no longer exists in the PM Verse
Yeah I never did get a definitive answer, not even from Watson, but the "Great Empires" line was changed from the more common saying a few weeks after that section was added in early access.
Agree with you Foreman
And so the difficulty spike has been hit. Now the game truly begins

1:40:58 wait shouldn't they be running or already out of oxygen at this point in the train, since it was described as being sealed shut before and during travel. It should be full of carbon dioxide suffocating everyone after tens days you would think
