E46 pillar fabric failure is well known but here is a definitive guide to what is failing and where to get the correct fabric to repair.
BM134 for headliner @ $42/yd - 3 yds should be sufficient for a coupe or sedan
BM3109 for pillars and parcel shelf @ $35/yd - 1yd for pillars - maybe 1.5 to do parcel shelf as well.

Thanks for the video. I rewrapped my pillars in my E46 sedan about 6 years ago using the same material I did my headliner with. After 6 years in the sun, the color on the front and back pillars has faded out and now looks more dark brown, so I need to redo them using the correct material. I'm going to make an assumption that since headliners don't really see direct sunlight, they used a cheaper dye that is not UV resistant.
