Luke Gingerich, Rio and Chloe team liberty performance at Road To The Horse 2023

Rio and Chloe worked so beautifully together during their performance last Friday. I work incredibly hard to help prepare my horses for these events, as inevitably things often come up that are out of our control, that tend to keep things from going as expected.
This performance was one of those, as due to the weather Friday morning, our warm up consisted solely of walking and jogging up and down the barn aisles, and trotting a few circles in the tiny warm up area immediately before going in to show, where I asked them for some of the most mentally and physically complex work they have done together.
That can be a challenge with any horse, but when working both of them together, especially at the level of refinement and technicality that we have been working towards recently, it really requires all three of us to commit strongly to working as a team. And commit they did! They went in and worked so confidently together, we had so much fun, and I'm just so dang proud of them and thankful for the opportunity to share this arena together with them.
