When I was in high school, a friend of mine wanted to test how durable his gamecube was. He bought a silver one because he preferred that colour, and had an extra indigo laying around as a result. We attached the gamecube to the rear bumper of his truck, and he drove around the block with the gamecube bouncing on the road being dragged behind the truck. We brought the system inside, bashed up, a LOT of the casing just destroyed. We plugged it in, and it still worked. The Gamecube is, bar-none, the most durable system I have EVER seen.
You need to leave negative feedback for that seller. I've been buying and selling on eBay for 21 years and receiving a shipment like that is completely unacceptable. Both in the timeframe it took to get to you as well as it's packaging for shipment. It's sellers like that to give eBay a bad rap while sellers like myself over package their items to make sure nothing is damaged in the slightest and get thrown in with that lot
100% that is ridiculous. I also am a eBay seller and I sell consoles as well and I have only been doing it for 2 months and I would never ever package it like that. He left so much room for it to bounce around and non of it is wrapped with bubble wrap. Pathetic eBay seller. Definitely giving us good ones that actually care a bad rep. He also must have not shipped it within 24-48 hours of cleared payment I bet he waited at least a week or so to ship it.
Dang, this is a huge testament to the durability of the gamecube that nothing happened it to considering it was shipped with literally no packing fills!
This was back when Nintendo still used pure Nintendium in their hardware. Check out the X-Play durability videos with Morgan Webb to see how consoles of that era withstood crazy abuse.

Wii U is better in the long run, just emulate gamecube natively and you get access to Wii games too. Can also play gamecube games in handheld mode which is a huge bonus. You 'might' need to buy the gamecube controller though and put in the effort to hack the console, it's 100% worth it.

Custom Robo is one of those games I played to death on those old GameCube demo terminals that were placed at Toys R Us, and Best Buy back in the day and I just loved it, such fond memories on this game alone.

@@DarkDuelStories Yeah I think most people thought it was just shovelware and skipped over it. It probably just didn't sell a whole lot of copies as the gamecube didn't sell nearly as much as the PS2. My dad got it for me at Circuit City one time because it was one of the cheaper games. It might have only been like 15 or 20 dollars at the time.
The main reason I liked it was because you could take direct controller over a group at a time or control a big beefy boy with different moves. I played age of Empires so actually taking control in an Rts was pretty neat.
Sega needs to remaster the original Dreamcast version for current gen. Luckily they did that with the Shenmue collection which I never played back then.

GameCube is one of my favorite console. The GameCube was first console I bought with my own $ in September 2005. I got the Platinum Edition that came bundled with Super Smash Bros. Melee and I bought WWF WrestleMania X8 with it as well. I still have the same console. 10 years ago I had bought a great condition jet black GameCube console w/ a Mad Cat controller @ a yard for $5.

Funny enough, I had black growing up and bought an indigo about 2 years ago just to have it like you. I recommend getting the indigo gba player as well; it pulls it altogether!
It's a shame Custom Robo hasn't gotten a sequel on the Switch. But there is a spiritual sequel by the creator called Synaptic Drive. There is a great sequel on DS though.
I remember my ps2 slim falling from the dresser a few times growing up.. with the game still inside, and still running. Blew my mind. (I still have this console, very scratched and abused, but refurbished and on my shelf )
I recently tried Medabots Infinity and it is dumpster bad I thought, as in, not good then and definitely not good now. However, that is a great one to collect since that and Custom Robo are perfect candidates to start skyrocketing in cost. I am ALSO wanting the conventions to ramp up again, the one I go to each year was shelved last year and this whole "no convention" phase of life recently will hopefully end later this year. NBA Street Vol. 3 for the GameCube has got to be one of the greatest crossover games of all time. The fact that Mario can break ankles, and then the net, all in one fell swoop is amazing.

Medabots unlocked a childhood memory I forgot I had lmao I used to have toys and watch the show when I was a kid haha it's funny how you got your GameCube like that, I won an N64 raffle with a game and everything for the system. The guy literally sent the N64 with just a single plastic bag wrapping the whole console in a box. The thing literally moved a mile inside the box lol luckily the console still worked fine.
I still have my copy of Mario Party 4, 5, and 7 from when I was a child. I never owned 6, which I heard is probably the best of the GameCube era of Mario Party games.
I had Mario Party 5,6 and 7 but MP6 was the best with Bright and Twilia doing the day/night board changes. The minigames, board maps and game modes were great too. Had the best Duel minigames. I played MP6 the most out of all the GameCube MP games. My Mexican neighbor had MP4 though. 7 wasn't my favorite either aside when they introduced 8 Player Mode & Minigames. MP5 was alright with the Solo Mode being amazing. MP6 brought amazing orbs system, great minigames, new characters, boards going day & night, and microphone to play Mic minigames. So yeah MP6 by far, best of the Gamecube MP.
Next time I'm back home I'll check if I still have my copy of Mario Party 6 if you still need it, should be in pretty good condition from what I remember
Goblin commander is a great game! I remember me and my brother put a ton of hours into that one. We had it on PS2 though. That's probably why that one is up in price. May have been a small amount of copies printed. I didn't even know it was a part of the GCN library tbh.

Always wanted to buy Custom Robo during the GCN days but never got around to it. Good finds. Also, I think X-Play had an episode where they dropped a PS2, XB, & GCN from a high height and the GCN still worked.

Dude custom robo is a hidden gem for the gamecube in my opinion, my first time playing it was as a kid at a hollywood video demo kiosk and fell in love with it, eventually a person working at a game store heard me talking about looking for the game with my friends like 10 years later and they sold me their personal copy for like 20. Ive loved the game for a long time and 100% suggest it
Custom Robo is fantastic. The music, story, characters, gameplay, it's all just so good. I've been working on an upscaled texture pack for it and Mega Man X - Command Mission (another great game you should get) but I've run into issues with transparency, so who knows when or if those will be ready lol
Imagine being worried about the Gamecube :P I dropped a huge ass CRT on mine by accident and the TV caseing broke and the Gamecube just had a small scratch. That thing is a beast!

Gamecube has become probably the worst console to collect for on a pricing basis. I'm content with the games I've got and the GCLoader takes care of everything else on the original hardware side of things. I can't recommend anyone starting in 2021 tho
Crazy Taxi was best on Dreamcast in terms of consoles, I know the PS2 and GameCube versions weren't as good due to visuals, music and product placement.
The Gamecube version is literally a port of the Dreamcast version though? It has all the original music and visuals. The voices may have been changed to match Crazy Taxi 2, I can't remember but the rest is the same?
He did pay $80 for Mario Party 4, so I don't think he is getting many deals on the more rare games. He is just willing to complete his collection so sacrifices have to be made.

Goblin Commander is a very good game, fun RTS game that has Pikmin like gameplay a little but has building, capture zones. Fun game in general.

GC is still one of the best. I would re-use the stock buttons and just replace the thumbsticks. The buttons will clean up. The copy’s feel cheap..

Dude custom robo is a hidden gem for the gamecube in my opinion, my first time playing it was as a kid at a hollywood video demo kiosk and fell in love with it, eventually a person working at a game store heard me talking about looking for the game with my friends like 10 years later and they sold me their personal copy for like 20. Ive loved the game for a long time and 100% suggest it
Custom Robo is fantastic. The music, story, characters, gameplay, it's all just so good. I've been working on an upscaled texture pack for it and Mega Man X - Command Mission (another great game you should get) but I've run into issues with transparency, so who knows when or if those will be ready lol
Imagine being worried about the Gamecube :P I dropped a huge ass CRT on mine by accident and the TV caseing broke and the Gamecube just had a small scratch. That thing is a beast!
My favorite gamecube game was Eternal Darkness Sanity's Requiem, with the Lost Kingdoms games as a close second.
It'd be dope if you had a google doc indicating what games in the collection you have, vs what's left. OR do a video showcasing your collection so far, maybe playing some of your favorites.

Gamecube has become probably the worst console to collect for on a pricing basis. I'm content with the games I've got and the GCLoader takes care of everything else on the original hardware side of things. I can't recommend anyone starting in 2021 tho
Crazy Taxi was best on Dreamcast in terms of consoles, I know the PS2 and GameCube versions weren't as good due to visuals, music and product placement.
The Gamecube version is literally a port of the Dreamcast version though? It has all the original music and visuals. The voices may have been changed to match Crazy Taxi 2, I can't remember but the rest is the same?
I just picked up a cheap and grubby wavebird, chucked all the plastic bits in the dishwasher, looks like new now.
I recently picked up a playstation 4 slim and Cyber Punk 2077. I'm sure this will be great!

He did pay $80 for Mario Party 4, so I don't think he is getting many deals on the more rare games. He is just willing to complete his collection so sacrifices have to be made.
