If you can find information about the Mayan math system, try introducing your students to how the Mayans wrote their numbers. They were the first people to have the concept of zero. @@johnlopez3996 yes good info!! We learned the Mayan number system last week. Wrote the numbers and their symbols and talked about the differences with our number system. Very cool!
During plan time! We have 45 min M, T, TH and some wednesdays we have teacher directed prep. We also have our mornings about 25 min to prep what we need to! Its kind of here and there!
I’m very curious about your thoughts on ckla… do you do 1 lesson a day? How many units do you get through in a year? I am piloting this year and it’s a lot right now;) but i do like it. Just wondering how other people implement it and what you keep or take out to make it work;)
We take out a lot!!! 1 lesson is either cut down to one day or 2-3 days essentialy depending on what the lesson is! We might use the concepts but we def cant fit one lesson into a day!

Actually it was the ancient Sumerians who were the first ones to do that. Nonetheless interesting info.
