Haha that is so on point that sometimes we tend to want a new word and new revelation. And what happens to me personally when i don’t know what to read and just open the Bible randomly, i often open the same spot, and it’s the same with paper and app versions. So i figured, God probably wants to drill the Word in me so that i would finally start applying it in my life. And what is interesting that the Word is as if written personally to me, because it talks about things that i am struggling with. So even though i have read the same passage many times, if i open it again i read it again and i try to apply it again. Repetition is very important when forming habits, thats what God is teaching me at least.

I took A college level course on Gnosticism, When we speak of the secret knowledge we should be very specific for two reasons on which kind of knowledge and what the knowledge was. Because Gnosticism was not one thing , it was a broad term
And second each gnostic sect had an idea about a certain knowledge about something. Because when we don’t specify, anyone can just claim whatever knowledge you have which can be legit, is gnostics.
One strand that pervades it is that gnostics rebelled against the church structure and what they taught saying a certain apostle had given them this knowledge. The most significant being the antisemitic idea that the God of Israel was the evil creator God who trapped is in bodies , so flesh is wicked while spiritual thought is good . Theres a whole story behind it and complex systems but thats it in a nutshell

I became a believer with zero Biblical knowledge. But for me, the greatest proof that Jesus is God is within the micro and macro codes within the Biblical text. The most specific one is in Genesis 5. These codes verify that what is in the Bible is outside the dimensions of time and space. Prophecies also play a big role in establishing the Bible as God's Word. Because that leaves only two options. Option #1 is that the Bible is from God and option #2 is that someone, with a Delorean and a flux capacitor in ancient times went to the future, watched events happen, then went back in time to have someone write about it. I'm betting on option #1.

Scholars do not call the Bible God's Word. Who would call the Bible that when it has so many mistakes?
Dr. W Graham Scroggie of the Moody Bible institute, Chicago, one of the most prestigious Christian evangelical missions in the world says on page 17 of his book “It is human, yet divine”: “...Yes, the Bible is human, although some out of zeal which is not according to knowledge, have denied this. Those books have passed through the minds of men, are
written in the language of men, were penned by the hands of men and bear in their style the characteristics of men....”
Another erudite Christian scholar, Kenneth Cragg, the Anglican Bishop of Jerusalem, says on page 277 of his book, “The call of the minaret”: “.....Not so the New testament....... There is condensation and editing; there is choice reproduction and witness. The Gospels have come through the mind of the church behind the authors. They represent experience and history.....”

Nowhere not once in the Synoptic Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke does Jesus say he is God. He does talk about himself as the Son of Man; he says he must be killed and raised from the dead, and he admits he is the messiah. Only in the gospel of John(written decades later) does Jesus claim to be God. To think that our 3 earliest gospel writers(and their sources) would fail to mention that fact is truly incredible.

@@thomasjoat2396 We could argue on good evidence that the author of Mark depicts Jesus as divine, but nowhere does it explicitly state that he is Yahweh. My claim is that Jesus never calls himself God until our last gospel of John, written about 70 years after the events it describes. Why would the other writers leave that out? Seems like a pretty important thing to leave out…

There is one true God, the Father. He is our God and the God of Jesus.
“About eating food sacrificed to idols, then, we know that “an idol is nothing in the world,” and that “there is no God but one.” For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth - as there are many “gods” and many “Lords” -  yet for us there is one God, the Father. All things are from him, and we exist for him. And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ. All things are through him, and we exist through him.”

If you're using this verse to exclude Jesus from being God then you have to use this verse to Exclude the Father from being Lord. Jesus cannot be our Savior and not Be God. That would be blasphemy. God makes it very clear thier is no Savior besides him. In the book of Isaiah 43:11 and Hosea 13:4 . If Jesus is not God then we're all in danger. We're all dead in sin. Jesus is our Savior because he is both Man and God. He cannot be anything less. But I don't think Unitarians understand that.

God sent a savior to save the remnant of Israel, and all those who believe in him. And in the same way, God sent a savior to Israel, to save them for the Syrians.
“Then the Lord gave Israel a savior, so that they escaped from under the hand of the Syrians; and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents as before.”
      ‭‭II Kings‬ ‭13‬:‭5‬
“And the Lord did not say that He would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven; but He saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.”
      ‭‭II Kings‬ ‭14‬:‭27‬
And yet Hosea is still correct to say:
“Yet I am the Lord your God Ever since the land of Egypt, And you shall know no God but Me; For there is no savior besides Me.”
      ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭13‬:‭4‬
In every case, including Jesus, it’s called agency.
There is no verse to suggest that the messiah has to be also God not that we must believe him to be God.

@@crem004 1 Corinthians 8:6 doesn't work for a multitude of reasons. As the person above pointed out, to use this in order to exclude Jesus from the category of God is to simultaneously exclude the Father from the category of Lord. It's an inconsistent argument. Secondly, Paul's usage of "one Lord (heis kyrios)" correlates to Jesus' usage of Deuteronomy 6:4 in Mark 12:29 where he says "kyrios heis estin". Saying "kyrios heis" / "heis kyrios" is the Jewish way of saying Yahweh is one. And in 1 Corinthians 8:6, that's applied to Jesus, showing that Jesus is that one Yahweh, alongside the Father. So your argument back-fires and proves Jesus is God Almighty.

@@crem004 Jesus himself says if you don't believe that he is The " I Am He" you will die in your sins. That's not my words but his. Thiers no way around that. Imagine David or Moses used terms only applicable to God. That would be absolute blasphemy for mere men to say things only God can say. They would be killed immediately. And that's just one of the things he said. And if God says their is no savior besides him...theirs no savior besides him. Only he can save his people. Sure his used mere men to save his people. I get that. But when it comes to the souls of all mankind. Their no savior besides him. He himself came down and saved his people. All of us! Not just his people but all man kind. Because its not just Israel that's at stake. It's the soul of all man kind at stake. And even away from those verses. If those verses don't suggest Jesus having to be God...Fine. It still becomes nearly impossible to deny the deity of Christ. The agent himself is God manifested in the Flesh.
I mean when Jesus is called God by his own disciples and by the Father himself. I don't get how much clearer you want it. The evidence is overwhelming. Even his enemies acknowledged his deity. They wanted him dead because of it!
I've now looked at more than enough arguments and verses from Unitarians trying to be open to the idea that hey maybe Jesus is not God. Because if I'm wrong I want to cling to what's true. But the more I look the more difficult it get's to deny his Deity and to deny the Triunity of God.
In fact you're walking on dangerous ground when doing so. If you deny the Son and his deity you deny the Father.
And I don't want to do that. Nor do I want my brother and sister in Christ to do that either. We can argue about this and that. This doctrine or that doctrine. But when it comes to the Deity of Christ it's a non-negotiable.

Matthew 3:17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
Matthew 17:5 5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”
That voice is God/Yahweh, informing us as to who Jesus is. And he doesn't introduce Jesus to us as God, but as his son. God say's Jesus is his son, not God. I would think what God say's should be sufficient, and trump any misinterpretation being pushed by well meaning pastors and teachers.
Corinthians1 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
The author of this book, under the influence of the Holy Spirit conveyed the hierarchy of authority in Heaven by stating that God is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1John 18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
A clear distinction is made here as to who Jesus is in relation to God.
1Corinthians 8:6 Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.
1Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Matthew 11:27. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
John 3:35. The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.
What's being communicated in these verses is that Jesus has no authority other than that which has been given him by our Father. If he were God, he would not need to have any authority bestowed upon him.

      NIV
Jude 1:5 Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.
The correct translation is Lord, not Jesus. You'll see this reflected in the KJV, NIV, and NKJV.
      Regarding Isaiah 9:6
The correct translation is “everlasting father”.. “Father” was being used in the cultural understanding of either one who was the first to do something or someone who was important in some way. Because the Messiah will be the one to establish the age to come, raise the dead into it, and rule over it, he is called “the father of the coming age.”
“Mighty God”.. is better translated “Mighty Hero”.. The exact same word for God in this verse was also used for the Babylonian king in Ezekiel. We both know he isn't God, nor is he a god.

This was great! 🙂… The quest for knowledge isn’t the spirit of Gnosticism though. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of knowledge, wisdom & council. The Bible is big on getting understanding & growing in knowledge & wisdom. That’s why Jesus was studying at 12. Gnostics believe the earth is fundamentally evil, that there’s 2 gods & one is the god of the material, and that Jesus couldn’t be a man because the material is is innately evil. In doing so, they error they miss that all things made by God are good & that Go dwells with us. Yes, the material is a little less important just because it’s temporal & doesn’t satisfy. But it is not evil. It’s the creation & artwork of God. Gnostics took that to a whole other level. That’s important to differentiate because in demonizing gaining understanding or wisdom of your own beliefs, you give Christianity cult values. And Christianity is not a cult. There is freedom here. You are encouraged by God to seek, understanding & get both wisdom and conviction. That’s an important differentiator because most people who leave the faith… leave because they were never taught to talk to God about the hard things.

    Is Jesus Almighty God?
    Common answers:
    ▪ “Yes, Jesus is God Almighty.”
    ▪ “Jesus was the manifestation of God in the flesh.”
    What did Jesus say?
    ▪ “If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.” (John 14:28) Jesus acknowledged that he and his Father are not equals.
    ▪ “I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.” (John 20:17) Jesus did not speak of himself as God but spoke of God as a separate Person.
“I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak.” (John 12:49) Jesus’ teachings did not come from him; they came from the Father.
JESUS claimed to be the Son of God, not Almighty God. If Jesus were God, to whom was he praying while here on earth? (Matthew 14:23; 26:26-29) Surely Jesus was not just pretending to talk to someone else!
When two of Jesus’ disciples asked him for special positions in his Kingdom, he answered: “This sitting down at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father.” (Matthew 20:23) Was Jesus telling them a lie when he stated that he did not have the authority to grant their request? Hardly! Rather, he humbly acknowledged that only God has the authority to make such decisions. Jesus even explained that there were some things that neither he nor the angels knew but that were known only by his Father.-Mark 13:32.
Was Jesus lower than God only while he was a man here on earth? No. Even after his death and resurrection, Jesus is described in the Bible as being subordinate to God. The apostle Paul reminds us that “God is supreme over Christ.” (1 Corinthians 11:3, Today’s English Version) The Bible says that in the future “when all things have been placed under Christ’s rule, then he himself, the Son, will place himself under God, who placed all things under him; and God will rule completely over all.”-1 Corinthians 15:28, TEV.
Clearly, Jesus is not God Almighty. That is why he spoke of his Father as “my God.”-Revelation 3:2, 12; 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4.

I think this Hebrews argument might be a case of special pleading. There are lots of Old Testament references applied to Jesus in the book of Hebrews, and most of the original subjects are people other than Yahweh. For example, in the first 2 Chapters there are 10 Old Testament references applied to Jesus. Three of those were originally about Yahweh, yeah. But the rest were originally about Israelite Kings, David himself, Solomon, and one of them is about mankind in general (Psalm 8). Why should we think the author of Hebrews is trying to tell us that Jesus is Yahweh when he quotes Psalm 102, but that he's NOT trying to tell us Jesus is Solomon when he quotes 2 Samuel 7. In Heb 2:13-15, the author quotes several passages as if they are Jesus speaking, but those things were originally spoken by David, and by Isaiah, respectively. Is he trying to tell us that Jesus is actually Isaiah? No, we understand that the author is using familiar old testament language to describe true things about Jesus. I don't think we should assume the author is trying to identify Jesus as any one of these characters (whether it's David, Solomon, Isaiah, or Yahweh). Rather, he's trying to tell us something important about Jesus, using familiar old testament language. I think a careful reading of the book of Hebrews will reveal that Jesus and the One True God are considered two different characters in this book.

Jesus’ opposers accused him of making himself equal to God. (John 5:18; 10:30-33) However, Jesus never claimed to be on the same level as Almighty God. He said: “The Father is greater than I am.”-John 14:28.
Jesus’ early followers did not view him as being equal to Almighty God. For example, the apostle Paul wrote that after Jesus was resurrected, God “exalted him [Jesus] to a superior position.” Obviously, Paul did not believe that Jesus was Almighty God. Otherwise, how could God exalt Jesus to a superior position? -Philippians 2:9.

The three pairs each consist of a conjunctive clause "for/and" followed by an adversative clause "but", as follows:
First pair - V5 ("for" to which of the angels)
V6 ("yet/but" when He brings His firstborn)
Second pair - V7 ("and" of the angels He[it] says)
    V8 ("but" of the son)
Third pair - V10 ("and" you, Lord laid the foundations)
V13 ("but" to which of the angels)
Looking at the conjunctions then, we see:
    V5 - "γὰρ"... V6 - "δὲ"
    V7 -" Καὶ"... V8 -" δὲ"
    V10 - "Καὶ"... V13 - "δὲ"
Why is this important? Because it shows clearly that the author of Hebrews is NOT appropriating Psalm 102:25-27 to be a reference to Jesus. V10 doesn't say "and He also says of the son". Verses 10-12 are the declaration that YHWH's throne remains forever. Verse 13 then adds, "BUT to which of the angels has He ever said 'Sit at my right hand.’” In other words, God's throne remains (even when this present age passes away) and He has never made an angel to be "heir of all things" over the age to come. Only to "the Son,” the man Jesus, has He ever made this promise.
It makes no sense for the author to make such an elaborate attempt at defending that the man Jesus the Messiah is YHWH himself. Rather, the author has proven that Jesus has become far superior to the angels-not as YWHW himself but as the Messiah and high priest YHWH promised long ago.

By this logic, Moses and judge Gideon must be almighty God.

    as when he struck down Midian at the rock of Oreb;
and he will raise his staff over the waters,
    as he did in Egypt."
We all know who it was who lifted his rod over sea at the time of Israel's escape from Egypt.
Exodus ch.14:15,16NIV"Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. 16Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground. "
So ironclad trinitarian style proof that Moses IS JEHOVAH.
Need more : James Ch.4:12NIV,"There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you-who are you to judge your neighbor?" Likely we all agree that this one lawgiver is the Lord JEHOVAH.
Well according to our Lord and saviour Moses is also lawgiver
And thus per Trinitarian logic JEHOVAH as well
John ch.7:19NIV"Has not Moses given you the law?..."
It's called the fulfillment fallacy fellas. Also there is what is called the law of agency.
In verse two of chapter one you notice that the God(not the Father) Created the world "Dia" ,from which we get the word diameter, his firstborn. Thus the firstborn is not the source of the energy and information in the creation but the instrument of that source further Just as the the giving of the law can be ascribed to both Moses and JEHOVAH with no implication that the two are identical so to the ordering of the universe can be ascribed to both JEHOVAH And his principle instrument with no implication that the two are identical

The verse also mentions JEHOVAH as the one who whipped the elders of Sukkoth in the time of Gideon's defeat of Midian see judges ch.8:15,16, so as per Trinitarian logic Gideon must be JEHOVAH as well.
Again if the name in the text was Jesus this would be another trinitarian prooftext.

I've been a Christian for over 30 years, and I have never met anyone that became a Christian from people quoting the Bible. You are correct that for unbelievers, this is "casting pearls before swine." In most cases it is a waste of time. I would say that most Christians, me included, got saved without knowing anything about the Bible. I grew up in a home that never went to church. To the unsaved, the Word of God means nothing.
In these 30-plus years, this is what I have found out. The only parts of the Bible that are spiritually available for non-believers are the four Gospels. The remainder of the Old and New Testament are coded for believers only. A non-believer can read it, but without the Holy Spirit, much of the contents is hidden. There are both micro codes and macro codes within the text that only true believers can see. I have friends who are not believers, and I never quote or use the Bible as a reference point with them.

If you represent someone's husband, can you then perform the signature acts of the husband? (Example, marriage, sleeping in the same bed together, being the father of their children). You can't. Those are acts specific to the actual husband / Father. Likewise, Jesus is doing the signature acts that Yahweh alone does, which is why in Hebrews 1, the Father directly applies Psalm 102:25-27 (a text about Yahweh) to Jesus and says that this is about Jesus, showing that Jesus is that Yahweh who created the heavens & the earth.

There is a difference between the Chruch, born again believers in Christ, and the Jews. The Jews will be here during The time of Jacobs trouble. They are chosen for a different destiny than the church. It's why there is a differential between the judaizers (Jews). They wanted to keep Gentiles under the law and be circumcised and do good works to be saved.. Paul came back to Israel to put a stop to that. It is why Jews/Israel was blinded spiritually to bring about the salvation of the Gentiles by Grace. While Jews can come to Christ, and trust in HIs Gospel most still in Judaism do not believe Jesus is the Messiah. But, in Zechariah. they will know whom they have pierced and morn for HIm. Why? Because like Thomas, they won't believe untl they have seen Him with His wounds. Gentiles believe before we have seen, or for a sign. It's why all born again believers should pray for the peace of Israel, and bless them, because through them, we have received Jesus the Christ for our redemption.

Your translation of Hebrews 1 isn’t good. It’s misleading and that’s why you interpret it incorrectly. It is better rendered as:
7And of the angels it says, who makes his angels as winds, and his ministers as a flaming fire,
8but of the Son it says, Your throne is God forever and ever, and the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.
9You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness rather than your companions.
10And, You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of your hands.
God isn’t speaking in verses 7ff. It’s the author referencing to what the scripture says.
In verses 8-9, the author is quoting from Psalm 45 which if we read the psalm in its entirety we will notice the distinction made between the king Messiah and God. God blesses and anoints this king messiah, a “son of men” (verse 2). Verse 4 says, “And in Your majesty ride prosperously because of truth, humility, and righteousness; And Your right hand shall teach You awesome things.” Therefore, the psalmist addresses God (not the king) in verses 6-7 giving the reason why God anoints this king. God loves righteousness and hates wickedness and thus anoints the king because he too loves righteousness. Thus, the creation account given in the next verses (10-11) are also about the Father, and the NEW CREATION is established by the Son. There’s much more to say but that should do for now.
