Kyle piits was the best athlete we have ever saw at tight end. Bowers is the best tight end prospect. I think there is a clear difference.

@@twiinlab23 220ish is probably correct, definitely not the 243 that he is now. But he’s also 3 years older and hasn’t suffered a major lower body injury - he’s definitely an above average athlete at TE.
@@cpewts Well, I question the juiced up combine weight where he didn't test (for any player, not just him). He did have tightrope surgery on the ankle so that seems major to me. I just really wished he just tested to either confirm or silence the doubters. But yeah, he's looks athletic enough to play at the next level.
He's probably a 4.55 with the additional 25 lbs. If he thought he'd nail a sub 4.5 he would have shown it off

I know my rams just signed Parkinson, but I would love to see bowers with Mcvay and stafford. Stafford has never had a tight end this talented and Mcvay hasn’t either. Mcvay already loves the tight end screen game. Now he would have the perfect TE for it.
Aren't the Rams White _enough?_ & I'd be *_S T U N N E D_* if the Giants don't draft him. They're not getting a QB but their off-season moves indicate they're building on what they have. They need a guy who gets open in the slot because of their bad o-line & QB who refuses to throw long.

4.5 40 amd a 40 in vertical (verified) as a senior on high school. I've heard he ran 4.53 recently and has a GPS tracked 21.5 mph top speed. That's more athletic than most NFL WRs at 6'3" 245 lbs

Was mocking Tip Reiman to Raiders for the reason I felt he would be a great blocker and Mayer would be the predominant move piece. Turned out Telesco felt similar but with Mayer as the blocker w Bower Power being the chess piece. Brilliant pick. Telesco is a savant.

I think Bowers could totally play 5-10 snaps a game at X, especially when you motion him back to the line on runs, then RPO’s, and also have those manufacturered jump ball scenarios for a typical X; no DB in the NFL can really man him up.
I think he is going to be elite, and he’ll be one of those picks that teams earlier will regret passing on. The kid just plays football.

I have the Brock/Brian Thomas dilemma you mentioned in this video. Dynasty 1qb PPR. At the 1.5 do I take Brock or Brian Thomas. No TE premium.

I think you’re underselling him a bit. He’s a tight end at heart with above average blocking , elite hands, and high above average speed. And then you get into his ability for FAR above average YAC. He’s an all around athletic freak, he can play TE, RB AND WR/ SLOT . He’s going to be a problem for opposing defenses to scheme against. The dude is going to be a PROBLEM
Hmm, some speed, good hands, good in tight windows, mediocre top end speed. Sounds like a slot receiver. If only the Raiders had access to an elite slot receiver like Hunter Renfrow. Oh wait, we cut him for no reason after not finding a coach that could figure out how to use him. Good stuff.
Renfro was injury prone, had some costly TO’s, and frankly, isn’t close to the weapon Bowers is. Renfro was effectively replaced by a bigger, faster, tougher and proven player. Get over your Renfro crush, pal.

My upcoming dynasty super flex league I’m at a toss up between Drake Maye and Bowers. Picking from the 1.06
I have the 1.07 and in the same train of thought.
Unless Maye goes to MIN you def want Bowers in a SF TE premium (assuming you have decent QBs)

One thing to be noted is teams have GPS data on all the prospects. For guys like bowers that don't do combine style testing, they can compare his GPS data to guys that have high RAS like Ben Sinnott.

Athletic testing is a tool. That being said to me its a good way to ensure you meet the minimum level of athleticism to succeed in the nfl. Tape is really the only way to have any idea if they could be special.
In addition I do believe basing draft pick choices on position market value is a good way to ensure you keep getting to mentioned in draft regret articles. Yes i know WR are expensive. I also know in the last 15 years the majority of Super Bowl winners most important revieving target isn’t a WR. So teams that pick any WR over BB (except MHJ) do not have a clue what winning football looks like.

I'm a Georgia fan, that's just his personality. He is very calm, doesn't talk much, just does his job and keeps his head down.
That’s kind of who he is though. He’s quiet, reserved, introverted,shy and rarely shows any emotions. (Like literally the only time I saw him show emotion in Athens was this past year v Tennessee where for 6 plays in a row they took cheap shots at him such as stomping a post surgery ankle, grabbing his junk post tackle and finally spitting in his face sent him off, he bench pressed a DE off of him and was going for blood)
But dude is basically a football robot who just doesn’t show anything, 2 national championships and every post game interview he looked like someone just kicked his dog.

Let me put it to you simply. If this guy can stay healthy and goes to a team with at least a competent qb, every team that passed him up that didn’t need a qb or picked Harrison, will deeply regret it. Everybody so scarred from Kyle pitts, but go watch his college highlights. Other than some flashy catches I wasn’t all that impressed.
Chiefs should trade up and have him learn from Kelce and take over after he retires after next season probably

So even the people who’s JOB it is to evaluate these young men have disagreed with you regardless of the metrics! I won’t say you don’t watch tape but I will say your bias dilutes your conclusions from the tape you watch. Literally every professional that uses the same metrics you do was saying he’s an absolute freak from an athletic perspective, for you to go against what they said has nothing to do with objectivity or your knowledge on the game. Raiders had the worst Quarterback room in the NFL last season. Have done nothing to improve it. QB has been the biggest hole on the team and the weakest position since McDaniels ran Carr out of town. I guess we'll just look forward to next years top 10 pick and hope another QB prospect slides?
Agree with you about McLoser screwing Carr; but I disagree with you about them doing nothing. I think they've done a couple HUGE things to improve the QB room:
1. Most important, the thing everyone used to know and is now all but forgotten: THEY'VE ALLOWED A YOUNG QB TO GET EXPERIENCE AND DEVELOP!!!
2. They brought in the surprise of the 2024 NFL: The GM! The Uncle Rico! The QB who's so great I can't even spell his name confidently: Gardner Minchew? Garner Manchuria? Who cares?!!? He's been very good everywhere he's been and he's finally going to be in a good situation!

4. They're doing the smart thing, even if they were forced to by circumstances: They're not trying to chase down the flag football GOAT in KC (#15). Instead they are building a dominant defense, which even in the modern softer gentler NFL, will still beat a great offense most of the time. That's what they did on Christmas 2023 and it's gonna be happening a LOT in the years to come. Mahomey should keep his Kleenex handy because his reign, while not over, has crested and is now ebbing away. The Greatness of the Raiders is in the FUTURE!!!

Huh? Raiders have history of having good TE's and Getsy's offense uses 12 personnel as much as any team. Davante Adam's, Jakobi Meyers and Mayer on his team.
12 personnel Getsy uses alot. Zamir White with the blocks will be a huge value pick in the later rounds if you spend high picks on other positions

Two completely different prospects. Bowers in gonna go in the first with a loaded WR class speaks on how good he is vs the class Fant was with and wasn’t taken in the first. As prospects they’re in two completely different tiers
Two points:
(1) Noah Fant was in fact drafted in the first round by the Broncos at pick 20;
(2) It’s less of a direct comparison between Fant and Bowers, and more of stating how wildly unpredictable drafting TEs is. Looking at the long and storied history of outright BUSTS at the positions, it’s clear that most 1st round (or even, “generational”) TE prospects have skills that don’t translate to the NFL despite collegiate domination. Simply put, I think Bowers will join that long list of overhyped TE prospects that will have a career that’s more similar to Eric Ebron than, say, Greg Olsen or Vernon Davis.
@@Justadudd733 bad comp and bad points. These are individual players, and bowers skillset is far more projectable than any of the players you mentioned. Maybe listen to the video again, he’s objectively the most accomplished tight end of all time. He’s George Kittle with better route running, not quite the blocker but the athleticism is there and the yac ability is second to none at the college level
