I had been a Bernadette fan since I was about ten and I couldn't believe I was actually watching her in person. I have seen almost every show of hers and a couple of concerts now, even done the stage door bit where I thanked her for the performance. I wonder if my ten year old self would have ever dreampt of this.
I think she was sick with a cold on the night she was performing here...this is the mark of a true professional. You may be feeling awful, but you keep going and draw from inside yourself💜 She is class in every way!!
Hannah Betts. Also during her Gypsy live Tony's 2003 performance she had such big asthma that she almost fainted backstage. Yet that Tony perf made history with an unequaled and never seen 10 MINUTES STANDING OVATION for our beloved "Broadway barks" Bernadette P.
This is why she is so talented she really knows how to sing beautifully and this performance of this particular song is no exception it turly goes to show you how fantastically talented she is
This is one of the saddest songs ever written, imo, and Bernadette, being the incredibly sensitive performer she is, was clearly trying hard not to cry. I know I would NEVER be able to sing this without crying. She did it, emotional and unbelievably beautiful, like everything she sings. I just adore her.
I hadn’t seen this and after all that I had a visceral (unpleasant) response and a good cry. To The Biggest Star from the biggest fan and bigger crybaby, Your Richard xo “Take the hurt out of all the pain” - it only truly resonates after all (these/my years) Thanks also, and of course to “Steve” for setting Bernadette’s voice to words.
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️😭♥️♥️♥️ i had known the song for years, but only the album version of the Marti Webb, just about 3 months ago i discovered the Bernadette album of the show and those lines gripped me hard♥️♥️♥️
I saw her do it on Broadway in that original run. I could not stop crying, she was fantastic!! Bernadette rocks!!

I knew the song for years, but never her version where she sings that line, take the hurt out of all the Pain ....it spoke to me, too, really big.
Simply amazing
Pacing is perfect, and she keeps us in the palm of her hand

Wow. Now that’s how you sing a song.
BRAVA♥
I love this song but this is sung at a funereal pace.
@Robert Lee, Countertenor what’s the matter with you guys. it’s a sad part in the show it’s not just a random wave of sadness
Do you have the whole show? Would it be possible to trade? Please :)????
