    How much pressure should it take to wiggle the clutch? Seems you get half a cm of play either way with some effort (or I just need to go even tighter) Just worried about over tightening. Thanks!

    • @DaveNorona
      @DaveNorona  Рік тому

      its should have a bit of play, other wise you are over tightening it

    should you set parking brake before checking chain tension? or does it not matter? I thought I saw that before..

    Dave question for ya. I’ve got the 23 summit X with expert package. Rode in -10°F in deep snow drifts and snow dust somehow infiltrated under the hood. After about 2 hours it must’ve melted, dribble down to the bottle and froze the steering solid. Nearly leaving me stranded. Eventually I broke a tie rod and shredded both boots before getting at home. I thought the GEN 5 was supposed to be much tighter without openings to let snow in? How do people who go to the mountains for the weekend deal with with leaving their sleds outside at night? This is like a huge design flaw in a major problem. Mine was inside a heated garage because prior.

      Not sure where you are getting snow in, but also if your going to leave your sled out a rubber mallet is essential to eliminate snow build up in areas as if you leave over night it freezes in place. My sled is out all night sometimes but never had what you speak off, that would have to be a lot of snow

      @@DaveNorona I think it was through the vents on top and the turbo. Melted on the pip and pooled in the bottom of the casting. Fine snow dust from deep ditch banging. Too cold for the radiant heat to melt it completely oozed and froze I suspect. I’m done the rubber mallet for the tunnel but never had the steering freeze up before.

    Seems to me like that cotter pin should be put through the hole in the bolt, it's really serving no purpose there. Anybody concur?

    • @DaveNorona
      @DaveNorona  Рік тому

      serves a perfect purpose to not allow the bolt to back out, some thinks it turns out but it does not. I also think some have mounted the pin through the hole and then when they tighten the bolt it does not turn and they think its tight. There is a flat spot in the bolt to prevent it from backing out so pin does not need to be in the hole and from factory is not

    Why are they using the shitty chain this year, over the other years using better quality.. more hp deserves a better quality

    • @DaveNorona
      @DaveNorona  Рік тому +2

      it is not a sh$tty chain it handles the power fine, just adjust it properly and no issues, has not been an issue and guys are just focusing on that for no reason. Did you break a chain?

    • @RI-td3gv
      @RI-td3gv Рік тому +2

      @@DaveNorona Just broke a chain here, the local dealer says they are coming in day after day now with chain issues. Hold the Hyvo chain side by side with the $hit chain that is coming in the gen 5's and you'll defiantly see the difference. Dave, I have personally looked in 5 different g5 cases now and all have wear marks on the case. BRP needs to come clean with their mistake to use sub par chain and gears and correct the issues.

    • @RI-td3gv
      @RI-td3gv Рік тому +2

      Also the 2 piece drive shaft has excess runout not helping these issues. Watch the TKI video about it.

    What happens if the chain is too tight?

    • @DaveNorona
      @DaveNorona  Рік тому

      it causes stress on chain, gears, belt and motor, an over tightened chan is as bad as an overtightened chain
