I have a 2020 Si Coupe, I work for Honda as well, the fact that you did this and have AC with no lights is a beautiful thing brother. I love to see builds like these. Enjoy and safety🤞🏼
Also, just pull the pins for the VTech control wires out of the PCM harness of the accord and slide them into the PCM plugs of the si harness, run the wires along the firewall and plug em in, pretty good chance the si PCM can control the VTech once you add the wires to the PCM plugs.. and if it doesn't, just toss the accord PCM in.. then everything will work.. your 2nd gear surging prolly is due to VTech stuck in high.. u need vtech operational or u will have issues
Wow this is a really unique build. I haven't seen many 10th gen civic swaps, really this is the first one I've noticed on UA-cam. I love the 2.0t accord, especially with the fact that they did offer it with a manual for a bit, but the civic is lighter and looks a bit more aggresice imo. Love this build dude!
this thing is so cool! I have a 2018 si, and I love the fact that people are already swapping these. And more importantly, the swap is done well. People tend to skip alot of steps in route to getting their car back on the road asap. But this looks factory all the way! I appreciate the oem ecu, the AC, no dash lights, etc.
Followed this build since the beginning, I have a 17 si sedan exact color as yours. Really wanting to do this swap in the future bro. Congrats on the swap. That whole custom axle issue was a crazy segment as well.
I have a red 24 sport hatch. I’m rebuilding it after an accident and decided it would be sick with a rwd swap with a ST engine and SR20 transmission. My stock 2.0 (8k miles old) and transmission has almost paid for everything
Fc2 owner here (k20c2) Man I’ve been knowing about it, just don’t wanna have to spend 10+k on a motor swap just to get 400hp. I’d only do it if a “swap kit” comes out or at least more support & development… rather save that money & buy another platform at this point… which is exactly what I did, I picked up an rx7 project car & haven’t looked back lol.
Bro I watched your videos about 2 months ago and forgot to subscribe.. then here you are.. glad to know the car is treating you well.. really nice build you got going on!
I have a 96 accord coupe and I've been looking into swapping a c4 into it. This is interesting and it provides further detail, different car but ideas are there. Thank u
I have same issue with my 2nd gear lurching here and there on my 9th gen si. I figure it was my new stage 4 clutch just not breaking in fully. This is like after breaking period was done. Now it doesn’t lurch no more. Sick as build tho! Just found your vids.
I used to have that misfire issue with my 18 Si. For me it was actually Hondata causing it. I had only found 1 other person reporting it anywhere online. Switching to KTuner fixed it and I've never had a misfire since, but where you're already using KTuner I dunno what could be the cause
Sick video, cool to see this is possible. I’m looking forward to something like this in like 10 years. For now I just want to make 250/250 with my l15 manual integra.
Anyone here a mechanic or who works on cars can you explain what the process is to engine swap a different engine on a car would you need the transmission and engine wiring harness and computer to do this
I have a built Si 2018 coupe and have seen a FK8 type r swapped 10th gen Si which Apprently uses same ECU so it’s an easy swap but the accord engine seems more budget friendly will keep this in mind if I ever blow up the 1.5 on track
My 22’s 1.5 exhaust burbles in between gears too. I’ve always been curious why the exhaust burbles. I’m considering taking my aftermarket exhaust off because it’s a little much for my daily driver. Even with the stock catback it was there too but very quiet. Anyways, this project is very cool man !
Just like Subarus Hondas are like legos you can swap old parts for new vice versa as it’s all pretty much plug and play.. so much easier and nicer knowing you can do this 👍🏽
@@gavindanitz true true and the accord is probably wayyyy heavier than the civics so people probably flooring the pedals in the accords. Big ups tho brother!!
sick build my guy. you should def swap a k20z3 or do a frankenstein motor (any k24 bottom end and a k20z3 rbc head.) you could easily get that bitch up to 10k plus rpm’s. impressive build tho brother and keep up the good work! i like that you still got ac too LMAO
@@gavindanitz love it! Not sure NY would be cool with a swap like that but it’s definitely something I’m keeping in mind for when i blow my motor. Appreciate you documenting so well and paving the way so to speak.
I get surprisingly good mpg. I was averaging 33mpg on my normal commute before I got tuned. Unfortunately there is no connection for vtec. However, the locked cams hardly make a difference.
😂 The exhaust vtec cam is definitely larger. It probably doesn’t affect the drivability very much because there’s no vtec on the intake. Intake vtec would draw a lot more fuel at low rpm
This should have waaaaayyy more views. I think the newer generation of honda fan boys dont know about motor swapping
Im one of those newer honda gen boys and sadly were stuck with l15’s 😭
@@ynigo8923r18s too, i’m too broke to swap it out and put in another engine😭(and it’s too low miles)

I drive a 2020 Civic SI and I def want to run this swap one day, thanks for documenting all this man!
thinking the same thing... maybe build my 2020 to max and if it pops.. go this route
just buy a 9th gen
Just sell it and get an 8th gen

I see not a lot has changed in the Honda game in 25+ years. It sounds straight forward like the d16y7/8 to b16a/b and b18c
it would have been crazy to see a 10spd in it too it would be super fast

crazy build bro🔥 btw what springs did you go with? i just put on eibachs and now the front creaks whenever i turn the wheel and it’s so annoying
Sounds so good 😊Gavin.
As he’s saying this car is loud, I was thinking to myself how quiet the car seems 😂
Can't you use the type r fuel system? Pump and injectors are all you would need along with the ethanol sensor to run a higher % of ethanol

it wouldnt have been cheaper to just put more power in the stock motor?
Actually no from what I’ve seen. To get to the 400 on the l15 takes an astronomical amount of work. Built trans, engine, big, turbo, and fuel
Why’s the idle sound weird, loping or lump more sounding
The larger vtec cam causes it.

Your mpg issue is definitely due to vtec being locked open. Hopefully someday someone figures it

It can be somewhat cost effective but it’s generally better to buy a type r. It’s not very difficult but it definitely takes time

Lol wouldn't it makes more sense to just buy an fk8? I'm sure the cost of an SI + the swap would get you a total price of a used fk8.
