Thank you for this information video! I am a 23 year old girl that has a 1993 convertible Ford Mustang that has seen better days. I’ve been trying to figure out how to work on it myself and have found it challenging to find easy to Understand videos for newbies :)

Good luck. Owning a vert is more work but so worth it for the freedom of the open air.

Congratulation!! Great video...It should do well, you might consider adding the word "top" to the title. I like the way you did the voice over while you were doing the time laps.

Turning 1.5 hours into 10 minutes was tough. Did not want just music during the lapse and figured this would make the most sense. Thanks again for watching.

Great! I have a LeBaron that uses a very similar motor. Do you think I could clean/replace the brushes on the electrical side by just undoing the 2 bolts on that end and NT have to remove the lines or reservoir from my trunk? Thanks!

Probably. I have heard the le barons motor are interchangeable. Good luck. Fingers crossed for you.

Great video man! Going to try this on mine. Did you say it was making no noise at first or was it humming?

Mine was just clicking. So I knew power was getting there. If you don't hear a click put some power straight to it with jumper cables. That will let you know a few things. 1. If it turns or hums you have bad wires going to it. 2. If it clicks with jumper cables but no turn the problem is definitely in the motor. 3. If you hear nothing the pump is probably shot. Take it out and hit it with the wires. No sound then and you can try to rebuild but motor may be toast.

Can you still open and close the top manually if the motor stops workin?

Yes. It's heavy and bulky but once fluid is out it can be done. I did it for 10 years like that. Now that I am older my back said it was time to fix things.

@@yellowfoxbodyguy will it hurt to manually open and close. My 88’s too just stop working. Just clicks

@@erichkrieger1355 once all the fluid is gone no. If it's still in there you will have all that pressure fighting against you and will need 2 people going super slow to do that. I would problem solve before I tried to open and close tho.
