Greatly appreciate this video! I honestly thought the MDX was going to win due to bigger engine & AWD. I would love to see the TLX-Type S vs Integra Type-S. Make it a family feud. Also major props to the Integra driver! Great shifting!
You're dillusional if you think it was going to win lmfao. Its like racing the 2.0 accord vs a honda pilot or a nissan altima 2.0 vs a pathfinder. The pathfinder isnt beating the turbo altima.
I bought BMW 2024 X3M a few months back, and I can sleep well knowing I can dust 95% of the vehicles on the road in a straight line and in the corners.
Why would they shave 1k pounds off a mid size, 3 row luxury suv? It’s already lighter than its competitors. As the comment above mine stated, if you want a lighter suv, then you have to look at the class below.
Looks like you had lots of fun that day. That’s the type of thing I’d do myself if I’m driving an suv like that at the lights vs any, regardless of the outcome! Thanks
I think Sam be listening 😅 everytime I come into early in morning and decide to watch an older video-he posts everytime. …What was your favorite car from last year Sam 🤔
Already knew what the result would be, my stock accord 2.0t beat a mdx type s on rolls and dig runs it was somewhat close but a win is a win. Already suspect that even with a manual transmission the integra would still win. Good race tho Sam love the content.
For everyone asking about the TLX-S vs the ITS, the ITS wins on a roll. If you look at car n drivers numbers for both you can infer that in the quarter mile numbers.
That transmission does wonders to move that boat of an suv. If the integra had a 10 speed auto it would be much faster. Only 30 ish HP and 40 ish torque difference but the weight difference is 1600 ish lbs.
so the integra has a ~1700 lb advantage and ~ 35/45 hp/lb-ft tq deficit to run down the mdx. not to mention the ride height n aero advantage. Tall ask but mdx is no slouch from the dig with the shawd hookin right up. fun comparison. would love to see 24-25 tlx type S comparison with the integra. big bro/small bro rivalry. the tlx is ~ 1K lb heavier.
@ the TLX-S and ITS both trapped at 105mph as per C&D, but yes it would be intersting to see. I'd say it'll come down to how well the Integra driver can shift.
Do the M240ix vs. ITS haha. Same price, but the M240ix does a 3.6s 0-60 and 12.2 1/4 mile... oh and it get's much better mpg with the top tier B58 somehow too! I love my RSX-S, but Honda/Acura is a decade plus behind BMW these days.
Sam I hate to say it but that integra has full downpipe midpipe and front pipe with the exhaust. They technically count as exhaust "technically" so he did lie to you. The type R and type S don't burble out of factory. And with just exhaust and cai it won't automatically tune in burbles. That car has been tuned and not only has exhaust
I own a 2025 Integra type s and yes in sport plus they have a factory burble and pop tune. Only really does it on up shifts over 2500 and under 4k rpm in 1st through 3rd gear or real aggressive downshifting. In comfort and sport they do not have the pops and bangs in the tune. The guy above is correct that the Type R never got that pop and bang tune, just the type s to sound like its audi and bmw competitors.
I own both of these and a TLX -S so I’m either the ultimate winner or the biggest loser 🤣 but, that being said…. Good stuff, now I don’t have to race my wife lol
Anyone interested in a MDX make sure you spend the extra money an get the type s the regular MDX is very underpowered. Had a 2025 aspec as a rental it was horrible to drive compared to our RDX. My 2 cents. Great video as always Sam
@@JGisMe2013 I'm looking at it more as the money I'm paying for what I'm getting. I've been in the Honda game 35 plus years, The J35 is an awesome motor just underpowered for the heavy MDX. At the MDX price point not having sufficient power is unacceptable. I'm not saying don't purchase an MDX I'm saying spend the extra bucks an get the Type S 👍

Sam you always give me the kinds of races that I like to see. All of our everyday cars that we want to run red light to red light. I just bought a 2018 Honda Accord 2.0 turbo with a 6-speed manual transmission in part because of your videos LOL. $20K with 91,000 Miles K-tuner, catless downpipe with full exhaust and borla mufflers, PRL intercooler and charge pipes, some goofy looking anodized blow off valve that makes stupid noises LOL. This thing is honestly really fast but the salesman filled it with 87 octane while I was doing the paperwork..... Yeah on a 93tune the car started throwing codes and breaking down within 40 miles😅😅😅 thanks a lot Sam now I got a headache. Remind me of a wild girlfriend though, she might be a headache but she's a whole lot of fun 😊
The mdx type s is a solid value and actually very quick when compared to other suvs in its class. This drag race here was just for fun but still works because they are fairly close stock vs stock.
Not bad for a SUV with 4900 pounds Maybe if it had a catback exhaust would’ve made a little difference Acura Tuoe S had a exhaust But still a good video and 14.2 in a 1/4 on a SUV is not bad at all Yes there’s others faster But the fact that SUV of the past were slow cause of its weight Not bad
These drsg races are the perfect set up for online trolls. Launching a FWD manual car against any auto car is hard ... It's taking the thing that the ITS does the worst and judging it against the thing other cars do the best ... My ITS (exhaust, intake, no tune) is basically door to door with my friends manual stock supra. Manual is a huge disadvantage, FWD is a huge disadvantage. Get the ITS on a track and thats where it punches well above its weight class.... But i guess that doesnt make for a fun bite sized click bait video.
What are you even talking about? Both cars are more than fast enough for their intended mission. The Integra is one of the fastest FWD cars/hot hatches around a track. Slow AF compared to what? A Tesla?

MDX Type S is no joke...its fast for an SUV. If they could improve the MPGs and shave 1k pounds..it would be perfect!
