- Did Sting chose this old Genesis song to make a statement regarding the UK decision today? Followed by The Police classic "Message in a Bottle" (no political statements there, just some fun). Live from Nikon at Jones Beach Theater, Wantagh, New York. June 24, 2016.

Brexit had been lingering long before us Yanks knew of it. These sweet blokes put on a show like none other. However I stood before on Brexit, I now stand tall with these lads. Clearly their concept of King and Country would sway the daftest of us....and Holy Mother of God what a show!!! Peace and Love to all you who hail from the homeland....just to know you produced these two Gems is good enough for me no matter what side of the aisle you find yourself upon. Good on you all.

"Citizens of hope and glory, time goes by, it's the time of your life." Man that would have been awesome. They even could have the sang the "Young man says you are what you eat, eat well" part and then go into Message In A Bottle when the song opens up from there. I'm glad Sting decided to do this but with Gabriel sitting right there and just listening, it's such a tease. He still has a great voice so how hard can it be to just sing the second verse? Throw the Genesis fans a bone Peter!!!

Why would sting choose that song to protest the brexit referendum result if dancing with moonlit knight is about the sad loss of English culture to and a protest against the influence of other countries(EU) on England.
I did not give opinion what side he was on. Was asking what others thought about his choice to perform this at such a time in British history.

It was nice to hear the words to the song, but I saw Peter Gabriel come out on stage, and then ride a tambourine. What the hell is that? Shouldn't he have sang part of the song? I don't get it.

Peter for sure doesn't pay TAX he's rich and if he does he's in the same TAX BRACKET AS THE POOR, AND IS THAT FAIR ? Sorry for my rant but I am now in my mid fifty's & the world was not meant to be like this.I live in South Wales & Wales voted brexit ,if you have seen all the new roads & developments that have been part funded due to the EU it's like Turkeys voting for christmas.I know you say that it's our money coming back to us ,but im not so sure that Westminster would have given it in the first place. A lot of people here voted out because of immigration but most of the immigrants I work with are East European & work hard & do a good job so why did Fararge show brown skinned people queuing to get into Europe,the UK government had control on that as we are not part of the Schengen area.We were lied to by career politicians that then ran away & you hope for a brighter future. It was a political statement. This was right after the Brexit vote. Dancing With The Moonlit Knight is the opening track of the Gabriel era Genesis album “Selling England By The Pound.” The Island lost at sea is supposed to represent Britain after leaving the EU and that essentially the politicians had sold the country.
