    Just in case someone is wondering, the name of the email in the workflow is also the subject line of the email (the one your subscribers will see when they receive the email).

      Hi Nina, yes there is, depending on the type of workflow trigger. If your workflow is triggered When a subscriber joins the group, at the end of one workflow add Action step > Define action > On the right side choose from a dropdown Move or Copy to the group that triggers the other workflow. I hope this helps 😊

    This is pretty comprehensive, but also pretty complex and a bit confusing. I think there's a market for selling pre-built workflows that could be imported and modified to an individual user's needs.

    Thank you for the tutorial. One question, so what action is better: to send the email before copying your contacts to a specific group or copying your contacts to a group and then having mailerlite send the email? I've been having some trouble with my clients since they tell me they complete the form I set up but some of them are not receiving the email. Thank you!

      Hi Barbara! 👋 First, set up automation, then add subscribers to the group. This is the easiest way, if it was another way around, you would need to do an extra step of triggering the automation manually for the late comers.

    I'm a little confused. What if I just want to send a welcome email to my subscribers and then a monthly newsletter of blog posts to my website. Would I just create an email automation with 1 workflow email? And then edit that email every month with updated content?

    Thanks for the tutorial. Can you create a tutorial for a simple video for a freebie with a low ticket offer? Where a subscriber keeps moving through a simple 3-5 email sequence unless they purchase the offer, which would remove them from the sequence and move them to a different group. Thanks in advanced.

    • @MailerLiteOfficial
      @MailerLiteOfficial  3 роки тому

      Hello Shantel, This can be achieved using our e-commerce triggers. Please note, these triggers are only available to WooCommerce www.mailerlite.com/video-tutorials/woocommerce-updates or Shopify www.mailerlite.com/video-tutorials/shopify-update users. Once you create automation with a trigger Purchased product, add Action step "Move or Copy to group" right after the trigger. This should be a separate group just for subscribers who purchased the product. Then open the automation with the freebie and exclude this group in automation settings help.mailerlite.com/article/show/29178-how-to-exclude-subscribers-from-a-campaign-or-an-automated-workflow. As soon as subscribers purchase from your e-shop, they will be added to the group which will cancel them from the freebie workflow. I hope this helps 😊

    I'm very confused about this green and red "like" for conditions. How do i know which conditions goes where ? For example "was opened but no links clicked", or "was opened and did not have a specific links clicked" - do they go to the green or the red ?

    • @MailerLiteOfficial
      @MailerLiteOfficial  4 роки тому +1

      Hi there Eric! The "campaign activity" condition option lets you create a condition based on subscriber activity in previously sent campaigns. So this rule will check (green thumbs up) if your selected campaign (using your examples) 1) "was opened with no links clicked" → meaning that your newsletter was opened but absolutely no links were clicked in it, or 2) "was opened and did not have a specific link clicked" → meaning that your newsletter campaign was opened, but if you had any specific link there that you were tracking (which will ask you to choose and select once you check this condition) that specific link wasn't clicked. The conditioning step works according to rules. You can take the green thumbs up as a YES (the rule is matched) and the red one as a NO. As a side note, we'd also recommend to add a Delay step before the condition to give the subscribers time to open/click the campaign. Otherwise, the system checks for it right away and subscribers will automatically go to thumbs down. Hope this makes sense! You are welcome to read more about this on our handy KB guide about conditions here: help.mailerlite.com/article/show/92272-how-to-add-a-condition-step-to-my-workflow - Have a great weekend! 😊

    • @NickPoninski
      @NickPoninski 3 роки тому +3

      Hi. I'm still struggling with the same issue that Eric is. I don't understand the thumbs. And the link doesn't explain it in a way I've understood.
      I want a Condition, where the Workflow Activity identifies whether the prospect opened the email or didn't. As such, I have chosen the rule, "was not opened".
      .
      Therefore, does the green thumb mean that the prospect did open the email, or does the green thumb mean the rule was met, and the prospect didn't open the email?

    What happens if you edit the automation while there are subscribers in the middle of its workflow?

    • @MailerLiteOfficial
      @MailerLiteOfficial  3 роки тому +2

      Hi Cecelia, it depends on where subscribers are and what step are you changing. Let say you are changing the step that is in the middle of the workflow. The subscribers at the beginning will follow the new steps. The subscribers who were waiting for the step you changed will either - receive an old email (if you edited the email) or they will be removed from the workflow (if you deleted the step they we waiting for). For the subscribers at the end of the workflow, nothing will change. If you add a new email at the end of the workflow, the subscribers who finished workflow in the past (weeks, months ago) will receive it immediately, those who are still active in the workflow will receive it as you planned.

    Thank you for the tutorial! Is there a way to set up the automation time of delivery? The first email is automatic. But if you delay 1 day for example, can You decide it goes out at 11am from that point on?

    • @MailerLiteOfficial
      @MailerLiteOfficial  3 роки тому

      Hey Kerri! Yes, we have a bunch of different delay step options to choose from help.mailerlite.com/article/show/29182-the-delay-step, you can choose exact time of the day, day of the week or month or even exact date of the year. If needed, you can also use a combination of these delay steps, for example, if you wish to send email on Wednesday at 11am, you can select A specific day of the week delay step and then add a second step A specific time of the day 😊

    • @MailerLiteOfficial

      You need to have all the subscribers who are in automation in a designated group. At the end of the automation, add an Action step "Remove from the group". In your regular campaigns, always exclude this group www.mailerlite.com/video-tutorials/exclude-groups-and-segments-or-blacklist. 😊

    Nice tutorial. The person who recorded them did a great job! I have an issue with a workflow where the condition is to click a specific link and then the recipients get emails A, those who don't click get emails B, until they click. However in reality it doesn't work! All people if they click or didn't click get the emails B. In the reporting I can see that people opened the initial email and clicked on the link yet they are served the Email B sequences... why, we cannot figure this out?!

    • @MailerLiteOfficial
      @MailerLiteOfficial  Рік тому +1

      Hi there! It seems like the problem is in absence of a delay step. Everyone goes to group B because they don't have enough time to click the link. To fix this, add a delay step before the condition step in your workflow 😊

      @@MaraZimmerli we are talking about scheduling the campaign at 6:32 in this video www.mailerlite.com/video-tutorials/quick-start-campaign. You would have to schedule the regular campaign every year. However, you can also set up automation which will do the job for you. First, you need to create a custom date field www.mailerlite.com/video-tutorials/date-field Then all your subscribers have to have this date field populated with the date when your campaign will be send out annually. You can use Hidden segmentation field in our sign up forms to automise the process. • @MailerLiteOfficial
      @MailerLiteOfficial  3 роки тому

      Hi Joe, yes you can combine those two. Create automation with the trigger "when subscriber completes a form" (select the name of the form) or use the trigger "when subscriber joins the group" and select the group that you assigned to your form. I prefer the "when subscriber joins the group" trigger as it does the same job, but it is a little bit more flexible in case you want to send the automation sequence to someone who didn't fill the form, or if you want to resend the automation emails manually. Your subscribers now will receive double opt-in email, they need to confirm the subscription and as soon as they confirm it, they will trigger the automation workflow. 😊

    Greetings, if in the automated mail campaign suppose that you have 7 or 8 emails programmed, and in mail # 3 or # 4, the contact already reaches the sale page from there to checkout and purchase, how to schedule so that if that happens remove it from the rest of the campaign and do not get the remaining two or three emails from that campaign?

    • @MailerLiteOfficial
      @MailerLiteOfficial  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Luis 😊If the checkout page is reached from the email we sent (if the subscriber clicked the link in the email to get to the checkout page) you can add a Condition step to check if the link was clicked. The Condition step will split the automation into 2 branches - if the link was clicked, leave the thumb up side empty and that would mean the end of the automation for those subscribers. If the link was not clicked, add the next email under the thumb down.
