Question, I just drained my oil in my 2010 yz 450f and put in the 1 quart that it’s supposed to have (from what the owners manual says). I notice that when I start the bike, the oil goes to the top of the sightglass and starts bubbling a little bit. Looks like air bubbles floating to the top. Do I have too much oil!? Need help!
I check my oil before I ride out and I get no reading on the oil dipstick but when I start my bike up and let it idle for 30 seconds I get oil is that a normal thing? & why does that happend?
Charles Graves’s yeah that’s normal. The oil isn’t stored where the dip stick is, so you’ll get no reading if the bike has been sitting. You’ve got to run it and get the oil pumping around to get an accurate reading.

no, thats correct, while the bike is running you will see air bubbles in the sight glass and it will appear to be high but that is normal.
I feel like you should douse the filter and fill the filter canal? Anybody else agree?
If that makes you sleep better at night and you have the time, do it.
