She really was a talented actress. Depression caused by anxiety can really take a toll on a person. May she rest in peace.
LOL
I feel sorry for that lady, I used to watch these Scooby-Doo movies with her in it, also I could have seen a few animated movies she was in. She was a really talented voice actress. RIP Mary Kay Bergman.
Another who had anxiety because of lewys body Robin Williams

Stop making fun of Mary Kay'a death!
fun fact: when she worked on South Park, she had to go under a pen-name as she was working with Disney (as the voice of Snow White) thus if Disney found out about her role in South Park, it would have harmed her career
TheChoujinVirus R u serious
I don't recall her being credited with a pen name.
KeybladeMasterAndy she was originally credited as “Shannen Cassidy”
Um no
Stefano Denton It is true, just look at the ending credits it says Shannen Cassidy.
Butch Hartman does suck for his comments on Mary Kay Bergman, but what really sucks is the fact that Bergman had depression and anxiety over allegedly losing her talent, whenit feels like she was just getting started. If only someone took it more seriously, she'd still be alive.
What did he say about her?
Oh. This was the lady Butch and Tarra were talking about?
... Well thay just makes it worse..
Tara and Grey were reasons for poor Mary to live. They were her students, understudies, and friends. If anything, she had proof that she wouldn't lose her talent.
@Antioch to be fair, while his comment was in bad taste, it was very tongue-in-cheek and reads way worse than it sounded. Keep in mind she had been dead for about 20 years.
She had bipolar and anxiety and had been telling her husband that she worried about losing her talent. I think back then in the 90s we still often thought that suicide had to caused by some event... not that people's thoughts could spiral them down. She didn't tell anyone about her struggles and never got help. I hope that clarifies things.
I didn't know she voiced Quasimodo's mother in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. That kinda kicked me in the gut emotionally
Cecily Erker She was pretty proud of that one according to her husband
*Fucking mind blowing* 🤯
Me too :( I just watched that movie yesterday. It's one of the most dark and emotional Disney movies.
Sadly, she passed away too young, suicide, and very talented, she was very talented like June Foray and Tara Strong.
nobodysperfect06 absolutely now we only have Tara Strong
Yeah she voiced Twilight Sparkle
That could not be more true. At least she left a legacy that will last even longer
The guy who created the fairly odd parents made fun of her untimely death, saying tara strong was the reason for her death. I don’t think that’s true because everyone loved mary kay. She was a beautiful and talented actress.
Theking 535 where in the world did you get such information?
Even though it was a small part, I had no idea that she did the voicing of Jessie’s yodels in Toy Story 2. That really did bring tears to my eyes. 😢
She also did Hogarth’s screams in The Iron Giant.
@@MrJohnffrey87 Source?
Oh, and she actually voiced Jessie during all the TV scenes. They say she was supposed to have the whole role.
That was the best
You poor soul she died so young.
JamesTheBrony/JTB she were suicide...
Poke Tv Sad, That’s much worse.
No kidding. And it's been like 21 years since she died. R. I. P. Mary Kay Bergman (1961-1999)
She was Grey Deslisle's mentor, and I can definitely hear it. Rest in peace, Mary. You will not be forgotten. :'(
Nate Bush Don’t worry. Mary Kay Bergman’s up in heaven with Ed Gilbert (the voice of Mr. Beeman in Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island) and Kenneth Mars (the voice of King Triton in Disney’s The Little Mermaid).
She was a Christian, so she's covered as far as the afterlife.
@@macbarrpup2451 Uhh bud, I'm certainly not a Christian or anything but I'm pretty sure that holy little book says you don't get into heaven if you put a 12 gauge through your own head..
Good thing that it's all a bunch of bullshit though. I'm sure she's in a better place, as much as we may miss her.
@@willrobinson3662 You forgot that she suicided her
She suicided her sorry
Butch Hartman made a crass joke to Tara Strong about how she caused Mary Kay Bergman's suicide because she took over her voice acting role on The Fairly Oddparents.
Cecily Erker Butch's comment are even worse considering that's one of the factors that led to Mary Kay's Depression and suicide was that she honestly did believe that she was losing her Talent and that her voice acting days were coming to an end.
Seriously fuck Butch for that bullshit "joke".
Yes I thought someone will bring that up at some point.
Living Abstraction that really made me hate Butch
That's horrible!
She killed herself? I never knew. News about this depression thing. It’s best to separate your life and work sometimes.
She would have been 58 this year. Damn.
I'm in tears
She would've been 60 today.
It hurts my heart
I Think I’m starting to tear up
In light of Butch Hartman's shitty joke about Mary, it's really great that we remember the talent Mary had and the hole that has been left since passed away.
Living Abstraction what are you talking about
I have a hunch that's why Butch stopped making cartoons...after he spewed his crass "joke" about Mary Kay Bergman, he got wind of comments and quit his work altogether.
She literally talks about not being so sensitive in the opening and you wimps get all vagina hurt
@@beetlejuice3x309 There's still a time and a place for things. Even Trey and Matt weren't going around in interviews talking about people like that. You're probably one of those people that think calling people racist words is just funny trolling. What he said didn't even have a structured punchline and it didn't pull from any of Taras past where it would've made sense. It was jist a random statement he blurted out
@@beetlejuice3x309 Translation: "I'm a cunt and I make cunty jokes, and everyone else are just sensitive pussies for thinking that I'm a cunt"
Holy moly was her voice talent versatile
I feel like this was just brought up because of Butch Hartman's shitty joke bringing her death up. If so, this should show everyone how much we appreciate and miss Mary Kay. She was very talented and her voice was so cute sounding. It's very heart breaking that she's gone.
RIP Mary Kay Bergman.

@@candicehoneycutt4318 Four different actresses and the one of male show creators (Trey Parker).
Her Mrs. Broflaski is iconic
And her voice acting was better.
Wendy sounds too old now.
Wendy, The Mayor, and Mrs. Cartman have never sounded quite right since.
Can't believe it's already been 20 years since she died. RIP Mary Kay
She deserved a better fate. She's in a better place compared to here. Hopefully collaborating with the other greats on animated projects.
Wow I'm only just now finding out about this woman's legacy. I am so insanely impressed by her massive range and diversity of voices.
May she rest in peace.
Isn’t that something!!we learn about her years later but the talent is still undeniable
3:52 She also did Snow White's voice in some 1990s merchandise; such as in a read along tape adaptation of the film itself
AndrewsMagicandMore and especially she voiced Snow White in the 1993 trailer and a deleted scene called “The Bedroom Argument (Doc vs Grumpy”
I started tearing up when the video showed her south park voices
Omg...me too😢.
It was Karri Turner tho
My Condolences
the way she carried south park 😭💕
Poor Mary... :( It's too bad she thought her career was dying and had depression and didn’t get help for it and took her life because of it... =( I grew up watching Jay Jay The Jet Plane when I was little, and I didn't even realize she did the voice until now. When I realized that, she was part of my childhood pretty much. =) I bet she'd appreciate fans like us that still love her today! =)
Yeah. If she had held on longer, her career would have skyrocketed and she'd be an even bigger household name than Tara Strong.
Me too, (14 years ago or around there was probably the last time I watched it when I was really little. XD It was so long ago. XD I have a two year old cousin who likes it now, and I watched it with her, and it's kinda creepy looking at Jay Jay all these years later, I loved it when I was little but looking at it now with my little cousin watching it again all those years later the animation was pretty bad. XD ) but after all of those years when I found out like a year ago that she was the voice of Jay Jay, I was like "OMG, I used to watch that!" She was apart of my childhood pretty much after realizing that. XD
@@MoonLoonie69 if only she was still alive.
She was so talented. I feel so bad that her anxiety and depression hid that fact from her and took her away too soon. She was in so many iconic shows and for good reason!
She had such range. I didn’t realize how many characters she voiced acted for. :( rip beautiful.
She wasn't afraid of offending anybody. What a woman. RIP you absolute queen.
Grey Delisle, Tara Strong, Mona Marshall. They were just of the few voice actors who cited Mary Kay Bergman as one of their influences in their work. Glad her legacy lives on in these other talents.
2:56 In 2002, Mary Kay Bergman made her last voice role from Balto 2: Wolf Quest.
I heard that they delayed it because of her death.
How did this come out long before her death
With all episodes of South Park now on HBO Max, I'm now re-watching it from the beginning with my teenage son. I had no idea she did basically ALL the voices for those first few season. Such incredible range and talent.
She did Daphne in 3 Scooby movies. Alien invaders, zombie island, and witches ghost, some of her best roles on tv back then, she will be missed.
Aka the best Scooby movies imo
Alien invaders was relased one year after her dead and the movie is in memory of her
She immediately won me over the moment she talked about how society was becoming more PC
Rest her, she would be a great person to have in the current world.
That was back in the 90’s.
@@dhruvo100 Trey Parker in a recent interview said he and Matt could see how even back then the direction the west was going with extreme PC culture. Makes sense Mary Kay was also aware at the time too.

They aren't talking about whatever incel grievance you have regarding political correctness, probably not being allowed to say the n-word in CoD chat or some dumb shit lol
Matt Stone: "'Political correctness' - I feel like that’s becoming a catch-all term for just shit that you don’t like"
"When I see a politician or a Donald Trump say “political correctness,” I’m like, “That’s not the same shit that we’re talking about in the writers’ room. There’s satire over here in cartoons, and you’re standing onstage in a suit and you want me to vote for you.”
And then they dedicated an entire season to shitting on right-wing trolls for being subhuman trash lmao
Not only did Mary Kay possess extraordinary talents and gifted abilities, but she was truly an incredible human being. The day Mary passed away is the day this world lost a rare and remarkable woman.
I'm so sad that she passed away, I mean she was a talented actress. I'm mostly impressed with her South Park voices and I'm surprised that she was the early voice of Timmy Turner. Tara Strong is still awesome but Mary Kay Bergman's voice for him was incredible.
oh no, watching this hurts. RIP Mary Kay Bergman. ;~;7
People who are talented like her should not be forgotten she was the most talented voice actors of the last generation voice actors deserve more credit like her.
She was so versatile
My favorite was her performance as Batgirl in Batman Mr. Freeze Subzero. Had the original VHS for this film.
I miss her
I truly think she would be one of the biggest voice actors out there today if she were still around. She was that talented.

I had no idea that she voiced a lot of characters from various cartoons I’ve seen during my childhood. Rest In Peace, Mary Kay Bergman.
Isn't it such a coincidence that this video was uploaded around the same time that Butch Hartman made that awful joke about her?
Rest in peace 🕊️😭❤️ she voiced one of my favorite cartoon characters of all time
Best Voices of Mary Kay Bergman EVER! Our sweet favorite actress, may Rest In Peace. ✌️
here are my favorite voices in order
Wendy Testaburger
Mayor Mcdaniels
Principal Victoria
Rebecca Cotswolds
(basically all the female characters in south park)
and the fox with no name from Balto 2
(also Jessie's "yodels")
Yea
What I find so interesting about her voice is that some of her characters sound similar to Grey DeLisle, some sound similar to Tara Strong, and some sound similar to Kath Soucie. And those three talented voice actresses have such varied voices themselves. It gives you an idea of how much range Mary Kay had. Impressive.
Interestingly enough, she taught Tara and Grey voice acting. She would be proud of her star students taking off to have such great careers.
It’s amazing how she does both girls and boys voices very well. Sure there are other voice actresses who can do boys voices but she genuinely sounds like a little boy.
2:56 "unlike you I'm not disappointed"...
*neither am I* 🙆🙌
✨THAT VOICE😍✨
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
It’s crazy that she sang “Blame Canada” in 4 different characters.
You think she'd still be doing South Park if she was alive?
Probably.
Without a doubt
Probably yes :/
Nah, she’d finally realise how much it sucks
I don't see why not. But I don't transpose my opinions onto people I don't know.
R.I.P. Mary Kay Bergman 1961-1999 the lovely voice of Daphne Blake and Princess Arista. ❤️😪✝️🕊️🙏🏻💐😇
Wow a great lady with a talented voice that left us way too soon. RIP Mary Kay!
She also voiced one of the wolverines and one of the wolves in wolf quest as well. She brought quite the ferociousness in certain lines.
She was my favorite voa as a kid and it amazes me how talented she was! Rip Mary Kay, we all miss and mourn you ❤️❤️❤️
Her message at the beginning was so relevant to whats happening right about now.
It's incredible to believe that much talent can be in one lovely person. I wish she knew how much she added to all of our childhoods. Her legacy should never cease to continue in bringing joy to us all but also serve as a reminder that we should never shrug off the importance of one's mental health. May she never be forgotten. RIP
Mary Kay Bergman Was Another Wonderful Actress I Loved On Scooby Doo But Sadly She Passed Awaye Too Soon
Damn, this lady is the voice acting GOAT. None of these sound the same.
She did a great job on South Park for Comedy Central And Rest In Peace original voice of Wendy
May Mary Kay Bergman rest in peace, she left us TOO early. 💔 I also wish that more classical female VAs like Tress MacNeille, Kath Soucie & Tara Strong made voices to South Park. It would be AWSOME. 💙
She also voiced Quasimodo’s mother in the Hunchback of Notre Dame
I know the feeling of that depression and anxiety. During 2020-2021 were some of my worst times caused by my anxiety. During those years I've almost ended myself like 4 times during those 2 years and it sucked ass. She didn't deserve these shitty feelings.
I hope you’re better these days man. That shit does suck ass but don’t give up - stranger on the internet
@@fatherkarl9291 I'm doin' waaay better now :3
Even sadder was that Hooked on Monkey Fonics and Stravin Marvin in Space were the last South Park episodes to be voiced by Mary Kay Bergman before her death
She was a really amazing woman that depression took away from the world! If only someone were to reach out to her, she would have had a really long career! Who knows, she could've even helped those who were going through depression as well! A lot of her fans would've been really happy to meet her!
I’m over here thinking that she’s one of the first best voice actresses I’ve ever heard about in my entire life. I never knew she did some specific noises and sounds from any character that she was assigned besides voice acting the characters that she was assigned. As I was watching this video, it seems like she’s trying to continue with her career but ending up replaced like she’s not good enough. If people would give her a thousand tries and REASSIGNED her, she would’ve been alive today. This is too sad….RIP Mary Kay Bergman🙏🏽❤️
She was Awesome...... Love Her ❤
Mary Kay was, and is, an iconic talent in the voice acting world. Her legacy lives on, but I wish more people were aware of her place in history. We should honor and celebrate her, and the groundbreaking work she did, more often. It breaks my heart she suffered in silence for so long. Today I thought of her and donated to a mental health organization in her memory. No one should feel the need to hide their struggles. Today she is my inspiration to keep perservering with my own mental health struggles. Thank you for being so inspiring, Mary. You are not forgotten.
She was extremely talented, who knows where her career would have been at today. RIP. ❤

Mary Kay seemed so kind, in all of her interviews.

She was three years older than my dad, but passed away when I was three. Such a loss 😭
What she said at the beginning should be listened about today.
She was really so great! I would never have known she did all the SP voices. That’s how good she was. Sometimes you can tell if someone does numerous voices, but not with her. Every voice was unique.
"Everything today is so PC, oh my God, y'know we have to be so careful we can't offend anybody, y'know God forbid we should say something that might offend someone else - some group of people- 'N we make fun of everything nothing is sacred on our show" - Mary Kay Bergman.
