I was 18 when i hit tdc. Only did 3. The year was 2001. You were still able to buy can foods and write other prisons. So if you left a unit u left with a name and number so when you got to the new unit you handed the name to who it went. After everything checked out if you were good no re check if not you got checked. 2002 stopped letting prisons write to each other. After that cora checks were mandatory.
Same here. Same experience .My sis was in Dayton when I was on Garza east in 01 I had all the pen pals.
