This is the most I've heard Ashanti speak on her personal life. I've always thought that was dope. She took numerous punches to her character before she spoke up. I believe her when she says she knows enough to bury Irv. Love her! She's a class act! She said I speak when I'm good and ready.
I loved how Ashanti chose her words carefully and stayed classy even though nobody would blame her for cussing and dragging that man. She threw her lil shade which is understandable lol but I really like how she kept her composure about this man who has kept insulting and attacking her in the media for years unprovoked. If you’ve ever dealt with a narcissist you know everything she is saying is true! From the emotionally immaturity, manipulative tactics, bullying, reaction to no longer having that control over her anymore literally all of it. I’m glad she got away and is thriving.

I didn't realize Ashanti went through so much verbal abuse. Being young and gullible and being manipulated by a narcissist couldn't have been easy to just "walk away" from. I'm so glad she was able to get away from that situation. I also love the delicacy Angie is conducting this interview.

She chooses her words carefully, and I am sure her cool and calm demeanor makes the artists feel more comfortable when discussing very personal matters. This was truly her calling. Ashanti also did a great job expressing herself in a very real but respectful manner.
Like two friends talking instead of someone with their own agenda with someone else story. She has respect and boundaries and that makes people more comfortable to share with you.
You know your serious about your craft when you interviewing someone at 1am. Angie need flowers on top of flowers. To all the people asking if they had sex please watch the interview again. It may be hard to believe, but some people aren’t comfortable talking about who they slept with publicly in a crass manor. They had a situation, but she was not his girlfriend. He had a lot of women he dealt with, including her , but their situation was never that deep. To be honest it seems like the situation could have been a HR nightmare due to the power dynamics at play. Plus, the manipulation that was involved was sick.

I don’t believe they didn’t have a relationship. I think Ashanti doesn’t want to admit she slept with him while he was legally a married man & she doesn’t want it to look like she slept with him to be bigger in her career. I get it! Everyone knew they were an item back then. The whole Murda Inc camp said it. Angie didn’t even believe it. We all make mistakes at a young age & have regrets. But use it as a learning experience instead of denying it all together. I believe Irv was obnoxious in his delivery but it was his truth. It was his story to tell. Irv has stated this in his interviews as well. Whether he was telling the truth in the end is up to him but he did clear that up on Ashanti's end. Being a fellow Libra and a fan of Ashanti, I love how vulnerable and mature she has been about this whole situation and I love that Angie created a safe space for her to speak her peace. I believe every word Ashanti spoke 😢 she went thru a lot being controlled & they had a relationship but there were no boundaries, so the lines were very hazy. And after she finally found the strength to put her foot down she walked away & he probably never thought she would walk away from him but she found her strength!! 💪 She fixed crown 👑, she is Ashanti & there will never be another like her, she’s unique. They did do something so amazing & iconic but now it’s over. I will always love & support her! ❤

Irv is hurt and I don't think he will never get over her,he really showed the world that he was in love with Ashanti but she wasn't in love with him, it's killing him to sit back and watch her blossom into this beautiful 🌟!!
I don't think he was in love with her. I think he was in love with controlling her. She was young, naive and scared of his control/power and he loved that.

I think that Irv was in love with Ashanti Irv can't get over her. Irv got a taste of his own medicine, got his poetic justice & got his bad karma for all the times he cheated on his wife Deb for when Irv seen Nelly & Ashanti together. Irv need to move on with his life.

To all the people asking if they had sex please watch the interview again. It may be hard to believe, but some people aren’t comfortable talking about who they slept with publicly in a crass manor. They had a situation, but she was not his girlfriend. He had a lot of women he dealt with, including her , but their situation was never that deep. To be honest it seems like the situation could have been a HR nightmare due to the power dynamics at play. Plus, the manipulation that was involved was sick.

I don’t believe they didn’t have a relationship. I think Ashanti doesn’t want to admit she slept with him while he was legally a married man & she doesn’t want it to look like she slept with him to be bigger in her career. I get it! Everyone knew they were an item back then. The whole Murda Inc camp said it. Angie didn’t even believe it. We all make mistakes at a young age & have regrets. But use it as a learning experience instead of denying it all together. I believe Irv was obnoxious in his delivery but it was his truth. It was his story to tell. I do believe he used manipulation as a tactic being upset. That’s just how I see it!
@@shedopesy769 She actually said that in the interview though. She said that he told her that he was legally separated at the time that they were messing around. Irv has stated this in his interviews as well. Whether he was telling the truth in the end is up to him but he did clear that up on Ashanti's end. You can even look up the interview that Irv said that in on UA-cam.
So glad she got to give her side of her story with Irv.

Being a fellow Libra and a fan of Ashanti, I love how vulnerable and mature she has been about this whole situation and I love that Angie created a safe space for her to speak her peace. I also love the fact that even though Irv wronged her on so many levels she still didn’t disrespect him like he did her, and she didn’t air out any negative stuff she’s such an upstanding respectful woman!!!
I love love love how she carries herself in the public eye and in interviews she is so articulate, she is a constant reminder for me that , I don’t have to respond to everything , and if I do I can do it gracefully much love ❤️ Ashanti this woman is a true warrior , my childhood and I just love her and so happy she’s back out here doing big things
Being a native NY’er living my best life now in Bermuda, I was there when Ashanti blew up on the scene and was there when Angie started her radio show. These women have grown into their own!!!! I’ve always loved Angie style of interviewing. Well done Ang 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I was Clutching my pearls when Ashanti was explaining her side and got emotional b/c I understood what she meant of feeling like you can’t say no 😢 this was just a beautiful way for her to close the chapter permanently and start it off with an amazing beginning in her career and personal life
She’s good with her words cuz anyone who ever dealt with a narcissistic partner definitely can relate. And they will never go away .
@@clevelandg09 This is so true! I’m in the middle of divorcing one now. Challenging to see through their BS. Irv is emotionally abusive. The best thing you can do to a narcissist is ignore and leave them.
