J’s face watching Chester at the end, realizing he is that good. Awesome.
Man I'm trying to see this but I must be blind do you remember the time stamp?
@@zmanuniverse7602 on the original video after the very last scream Chester does , Jay z gives him the stank face like "DAMN dude wtf was that scream"
I don't think j knew chester was gunna do that 😂
He's like, "All right. You did it, mate. Now i know" 😅
@@noteminemsburneraccount324Jay Z probably knew that yk chester can scream but he never thought he would do it that good live 😭
Not all mashups work, but this whole album works completely. One of the best things ever created
so true, but when they work, they’re magical
When this album came out, it came with a DVD which included the entire performance, part of which is seen here, as well as showing the behind the scenes of how the album was made. Listening to Mike Shinoda talk about going through both of their catalogues, choosing the right songs to combine, was awesome. MTv was part of the process, and the album has a small "bubble" saying "MTv Ultimate Mash-Ups presents:", to my knowledge this was the first and last album like that. 6 tracks and every track is worth a listen.
Still have it, love it
100%
MTV wanted to do a whole series of mashup albums with this being the first. They never made any more though. My little fan fiction is that they knew they were never going to be able to get another in the same league as CC and quit while they were ahead
If i remember correctly, MTV wanted to do a series of episodes in which they would put together 2 bands/artists to make a mash up song from their repertoires and LP with jay-z should have been the first episode of this series. Then Mike Shinoda said, let's make ours so good that anything else after us will be bad, and went on to arrange 6 mash up songs in like 24 hours to present to Jay-z. Jay liked the project so much that they went on re-registering vocals and rewriting some parts to fit the mash ups better instead of just mashing up the songs. Needless to say that Mike succeded in his intent
I had a portable dvd player and i swear to you I’ve watched it thousand of times in high-school. Seeing Jay-Z’s face whenever Chester did anything was priceless!
Best collab ever
Eminem and Linkin Park would be better
Yeah I'm no big fan of jay z but that tiny album they did was great
This whole collab was is insane. You gotta do numb/encore.. still get sad when I see Chester. Rip Chester. My bad I see you've already done it lol. But honestly anything from this concert is gold.
I think he did do Numb/Encore. Yeah, he did. It wasn't from this show, though, it was from after Chest passed. . oh, you found that out too, lol. Yeah, the one from this concert is much better, imo
This is one of the legendary things we'll never have again. Those who attended will spread the word of how absolutely amazing it was.
All we can do is love it now :) What a collab!
When you said you wanted to hear more Chester, i got to think of my fav live performance they did of their song QWERTY in Tokyo 2006. Def worth checking out!
Probably their best live song. Chester went fucking nuclear on that song.
This!
A few recommendations...
1. Given Up - Linkin Park (Chester's famous 17 second scream)
2. One More Light - Linkin Park
3. KRWLNG - Linkin Park (From the Reanimation album)
4. Kenji - Fort Minor (Not Linkin Park, but it is Mike Shinoda, and a really powerful song)
Yup this guy 🖕
The whole concert colab is one of the best ever
I saw the title and thought, "You're not ready for this"
I was In that crowd for the mtv mash ups concert. The atmosphere in there was absolutely insane. Should do the entire EP collision course
I'm so happy for you that you got to experience that amazing moment in time! 💚🤘💚
RIP Chester Bennington, he helped my generation see out the 90s on a rocking note. Jay Z's collab with them is how I'd even known who he was(yes, I'm that wonderbread), and it was very much awesomeness to the max.
This is my favorit album of all time ty for reacting to this !
Chesters screams are legendary!! Gotta go A place for my head live in Texas
This whole concert was recorded and is HYPE!
The same concert and dirt of your shoulder/lying from you - Chester's role is the key element- it's worth of look at this...
Favorite!! 👍 Mike Shinoda does amazing mash-ups
Jay’s work with LP led him to using live instrumentals during the Blueprint III era onward.
Linkin Park Ft Kiara - Heavy, by far one of the of the most thought provoking songs they've ever done because it talks about mental illness and living with that illness and just the vocal team up of chester and kiara was just perfection
ooh and somewhere I belong, it was from one of their first hits and to this day remains a hit
So powerful!
I hope you check out the Jigga What/Faint mashup as well:)
Def need more reactions of this. It’s lackin 😅
Undisputed this.
i was a smoll 9yo german boy when i got the album+dvd from that collab from my uncle and i still lvoe it to this day , i watched the dvd of how the collab went so often without even understanding a single word of english but still enjoyed it haha
The best part is that this is literally their first time performing this song live and they havent rehearsed this either before performing it here... Legendary moment for linkin park and jay z... RIP Chester❤️
i remember watching this live it was pure amazing till this date nothing as compared or gotten close to the how amazing both groups were in that performance
When Chester comes in, goodness me the goosebumps ❤
A Place for my Head... it's one of the dozens of songs I like from LP
RIP Chester 💔
Greatest artist collaboration ever.
Numb/Encore is so good off this. Mike Shinoda who is doing the rapping with Jay also had a hip hop side project called Fort Minor. Remember the Name was on the radio a ton and is solid. Where’d You Go is also really good. Oh the nostalgia 🤣
God, the POA riff is one of my favorites of all time. Never fails to hype me tf up!
Seein Jay’s face when Chester got his scream in… priceless. Especially as you can tell he was eye opening impressed.
There is a reason why I still play this DVD and album
Linkin Park's rapper is Mike Shinoda. Part of what made them such a great listen was their mixing and mashing of hip hop and metal. Mike did the rapping, Chester did the metal. When LP took a break, Mike had a side project group called Fort Minor. Good chance you'd recognize their few hits if you heard em again.
This happened at a great time for music, we were getting a lot of rock and hip hop mixing. Korn had Snoop, Xzibit, and some others in their Twisted Transistor video. They then did a mash up song with dem franchise boys.
I think what makes hip hop heads and metal heads appreciate this masterclass in musical art is the birth of the music. Hip Hop and metal are generally similar in sense of why ppl make the music. Its born from something personal, real life struggles, how they grew up, etc.
That chaotic upbringing is in both genres, so the chaos of their mash up fits.
4:00 I love this moment cuz you can really see just how much JayZ is feelin the rock vibe
At different stages of my life I considered either rock music, or rap music as the main genre I listen to, but the truth is they're both cool, and there's something magical every time when they get a chance to mix. It just fits somehow. If there was enough material to listen to, I'd only listen to tracks with rap to a mix with metal guitars and with a powerfull metal chorus. It's like PB&J. They're obviously made to fit eachother perfectly (I think, I'm not American and never tried a classic pb&j, but I know the reference. :P )
Jay zs face at the end was like dayyum man 👌
RIP Chester, far too soon
That collab was one of the best I've heard... and I mean the whole EP.
The messenger, One more Light, Burn it down
This collab was ahead of its time! During this album I was hoping we would of saw more genres crossing paths
Definitely check out Leave out all the Rest by them
I was at this concert, I still remember it to this day and it's been 20 years since the performance. The best concert I have ever been to. No camera phones in the audience and everyone just enjoying the performance.... I will never forget this night
LP Hands Held High is probably my favorite later some of theirs
One of the best CDs ever my kids know all the songs. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Points of Authority and One step closer are two Linkin Park songs. Def check them out seperately.
Jayz face at the end is brilliant lol
The whole collab was fire.
There are more songs from this collab. So many many more chances to hear Chester. RIP Chester.🙏❤🔥
“You know the type: loud as a motorbike but wouldn't bust a grape in a fruit fight.”
Jay and Chester where really good friends! Because real Gs recognize real Gs
Good old days 💔
This collaboration was so fire
😂 You finally hit it. I keep this exact mashup on my rotation. Just doesn’t get any better
The Jigga What/ Faint performance is my favorite from Chester on the DVD mashup
The whole Linkin Park Jay Z concert was amazing.
you should definitely react to With You by Linkin Park live in Texas. amazing performance
Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park put out We Major with Fort Minor around this time to showcase the hip-hop influence on LP. Spray Paint N Ink Pens from that tape is Shinoda, GhostFace, and Lupe Fiasco and it's legit.
Ah,the legendary Chester Bennington. Rip buddy,we missed ya
Numb/encore is the best one in my opinion lol
Lol, I love it......ya, me too 😁👍
I liked watching this one👍👍👍
There collab was legendary
If you like this you should hear the numb/encore they did together
Linkin Park - The messanger is a great song, a lot of hearing Chester singing
Hey! Thank you for this nice reaction! Please react to 'The Little Things Give You Away' by Linkin Park live at Milton Keynes
Saw this live it was Epic
You are SO LUCKY! 🤘
@@tessyoung419 yeh it was awesome, though I should have been clear I saw them perform together at Live 8 not this show, not sure but I think they only preformed a set together 3 times.
This whole concert is full of bangers. Not one bad song. Well worth a deeper dive.
This is legendary. This is live.
Still one of my favorite albums of all time. So good.
Metal makes everything better 🤘
The version of Given Up live at AOL music sessions!
Thank you sir! Nice reaction!
this was fire 🔥. stand up new york.. East Coast ... 💯
Jigga What/Faint is also very very good
This mashup album collision course is my favorite collab ever. This concert by the way is one of only three times Jay-Z and Linkin Park ever were on the stage at the same time to do a concert. This one was a surprise concert. They both contact a limited number of fans and were only told to ship up at a place time for a little concert. No one knew Jay-Z was actually going to be there. I think the concert was 30-45 minutes total but it was one of the best ever.
The look on Jay Z's face is classic.
This was Linkin Park playing Points of Authority's music with the lyrics of 99 Problems, and then it goes into One Step Closer to end it.
'Easier to Run' would be my suggestion. Not one of their most popular songs, but it kills me every time.
As a very dedicated Linkin Park fan (we are actually called LP Soldiers), it was really fun watching you react so favorably to them here! 😊
FIRE! I loved all there songs from the beginning. This collab was wierd, but as you said, it worked! Wish you all the best. Stay just as you are!
Rip Chester
Rock and Hip Hop just blend together so perfectly. The Jay-Z and Linkin Park collaboration is a beautiful example of that.
aww man this has always been my shit. they have more videos like this with their collab project. go watch em because great content!
Fun factoid. 99 Problems was written by Ice-T. Maybe that is why you liked that one.
For other Linkin Park songs to check out, the album Reanimation was incredible. The recreation and ingenuity to bring their music to new places sonically should be something you unpack again.
I wish I was there that night. I know The Roxy was lit.
Love Mike doing the first verse of Jay Z's song and doind the cop lines
As someone who wasn't a big fan of Points of Authority but found a lot more respect for it once I learned what the lyrics were about in Chester's life, I can tell that it was highly underused for this...
Please do more of this album 👊🍻👈
The entire album is pure gold !!! I’d love to see you react to every song but I feel like you gotta listen to each individual song from each artist/band and then the collaboration. Lol. I remember when the album came out and it blew all of us linkin park/jayz fans away. Like our ears were gona bleed from pure awesomeness
The whole album is pretty good. You should check out more of their reanimation album which is just a remix with guest DJs and singers remixing that album. 1stp Klosr, Krwlng (with Aaron Lewis from Staind), and My
I have always thought mash-ups were cool, and had only heard rock and classical, like 'April' and 'Concerto for Group and Orchestra' from Deep Purple & The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra before. So when two artists that I grew up with and loved got together and did 'Collision Course' I instantly loved it. I was stunned at how well they worked and fit together, and this is one of my all-time favorite mash-up/collabs. Absolute Fire!!!🔥🔥🔥🧨🧨🧨🔥🔥🔥
Dude, respect. Digging up diamonds💎
Would love to hear a reaction to any of the specific type of content from the Reanimation album - full of amazing collabs and rehashes:
- Frgt/10 (featuring Alchemist and Chali 2na)
- X-Ecutioner Style (featuring Sean C, Roc Raida and Black Thought)
- H! Vltg3 (featuring Evidence, Pharoahe Monch and DJ Babu)
High Voltage from Linkin Park and Remember The Name from Fort Minor (Mike Shinoda’s side project)
I have never looked into how or why Jay-Z and Linkin Park we got together. And I'm sure the story is out there in many places with this part of me just doesn't care. The fact that it worked out so well I think is amazing. The guy from the inner city of New York with some kids from some suburb in California getting together and making Magic the most unifying thing that's ever happened in music. At least one of them. Shows a lot to about how good everybody involved is after forming at live show and keeping a crowd pumped to
A lot of people are going to say you have to do Numb/Encore next after this, and yeah, it's a definite must see. But I'm going to say you abolutely need to see the Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You video. It is the opening act of the collab between these guys when Jay Z takes the stage with Linkin Park for the fist time. It's also right up there with Numb/Encore and this one(being the end of the set) for the best performances off this set. It also doesn't get nearly enough love as it should from reactors compared to the previously mentioned parts. Also Chester has a much bigger chunk in that one and goes off!
I can’t get over how awesome this song is!
This entire collab was insane. Yes, others have had collabs before too, but not to this extent with this many songs together. Every single track on this album is excellent.
Peep the whole collab man! 🔥 it’s called Collision course and it’s six mashups thatre downright 🔥
fantastic work
You gotta do Numb/Encore now, their mash-up too. Trust.
Linkin Park makes everything better.
FACTS 💜🤘💜
