Many months ago I thought Kagurabachi was truly a Morbius-level meme manga. But when I read the first 10 chapters, I got permanently hooked on it and proceeded to read further. Kagurabachi isn't ass, it's pure GAS
Honestly, I didn’t think too much of KB until Sojo said “I loved Kunishige Rokuhira”. From that line onward, KB, for the first time, shows its hand to the reader. Sojo isn’t just some generic big bad, he was a man who had a viewpoint on Kunishige as a bladsmith. Chihiro and us, the readers, know Kunishige as the goofy father who wanted to protect people. It’s why Sojo seems so unapologetically evil on his first encounter. But when he explains what he believes about Kunishige, it makes some sense in a dark way. A weapon is meant to kill and fight other weapons. Kunishige making these weapons is a part of his identity, no matter what we know about him, and Sojo is Chihiro being forced to come face to face with that reality. The question becomes “Why did Kunishige make these blades”, but while Sojo chose death, Chihiro chose life. Yeah KB is pretty fuckin tenoí.
"Both of them want to be the OG Kagurabachi UA-camr" "Both of them raise their weapons, their ammo and stamina happening to coincide." "This will only take twelve seconds to be decided."
Hey, animation student here! With my experience on working with professional animators and storyboarders I can say with confidence that the way Hokazono draws each page the sanse of movement and continuity is very much intact sometimes when things start gettign too fast it makes it hard to understand just how chihiro appears behind a target or something but the scenes on chapter 1 where he slices the goons and all the fight with sojo are almost like a storyboard that doesn't have the time stemps to say how much time the scene will take! I like that Hokazono doesn't skip any movements the characters make during the fights, really reminds me of early dragon ball.
Both are fantastic but have different styles. Kagurabachi got clean style meanwhile jjk manga has that rough sketchy style both are good in their own way.
I love the fight choreography but my only note is that they use the anime trope of not showing you the movement of the blade slash a bit too much. You know, the move where a character is instantly behind his opponent with his blade already sheethed again and then his opponent starts shooting blood from the wound he got. It's a cool effect but sometimes I think it's something artists rely on too much and I don't think it's as cool after the 20th time. The action is amazing though, that's why I don't like it when I don't get to see about 20% of it because of the "too fast to see" trope. And I'm not saying he should stop using that trope completely, but sometimes it does get annoying when it's used a lot.
@realmofdegeneracy3476 the only people that really does that is Samura and Uraha and that's because it legit part of the technique, as a super fast sword drawing. Nobody else does it, even when Chihiro and Sojo were fighting

sojo rematch animated will be all over twitter
That animation always makes me tear up

It's pretty good. I'm hoping the character design improves in these next few years.

Honestly i think every Kagurabachi Arc could easily be a Movie of it's own, like the John Wick Franchise.
UFOTable, Studio WIT, or Science Saru would be the perfect studio to adapt this
Same thought bro❤
bro has the most wild advertising ever😂😂
Kagurabachi anime will take over Twitter while we spam "I told you were going to regret not reading it sooner."

I fw the choreography in Kagurabachi but...
Sakamoto Days >>>>>>>
Most definitely personally enjoying Sakamoto Days more than Kagurabachi. Im only 25 chapters in Sakamoto Days as well.
Sakamoto Days got pressure like that? I might have to peep...
Bro don’t be that guy this about Kagurbachi.
Why cant we appreciate two goats? Even if KGB is not the best choreography, it's atleast top 3 in Shonen Jump today.
