I read There, There with my book club in November 2022 for National Native American Heritage Month. I agree that it had a lot of perspectives and was sometimes confusing! I have read The Soul of an Octopus-I’m pretty sure I read it last November for NFN. I really enjoyed that one and recommend it!
I'm interested in the Craig Johnson books. I haven't watched the TV show or read the books. Are they appropriate for June on the Range? I've never heard of Shorty September before! 24 in 24 sounds like a good idea. I wanted to read Orange, Orange, especially because I was born in Oakland and used to live there in the 1990's - but I was put off by some of the language, early in the book. The hummingbird book is lovely!
@Eldertalk I'm not sure how particular the "rules" are for June on the Range, but I would certainly read the Longmire books for that event. They take place in the American West and the main character is truly a cowboy in his outlook and actions! I think they would satisfy the spirit of the June on the Range event.
