@@Name-ru1kt IMO, the Myriad (or whatever it's called) is more similar to the SC1 Reaver except its "scarabs" can attack more than once.
Really enjoyed the fact the Genitron's building units actually show them progressively being built in the building animation.
I'd love to see some matches with the classic races against the custom races where the classic races pull out the win. Help showcase their balance that way.
There are some great matches between Kiwian and You that fulfil this I think.
@@quoror747 Absolutely, though they aren't from the tournament.
For reference, the alternate version of Hecate uses some of the features now allowed in the TLMC.
The backdoor entrance to the main can only be used by workers and called a worker only path, there are also of course those healing shrines and some adjusted gas values at the linear third, where you can see the 3 gasses. They only have 1k gas each rather than the conventional 2250.

The Genetron gives off so much Supreme Commander vibes. Makes me nostalgic. Very cool concepts. That's why games like Starcraft BW and SC2 are still as full of life as they are -- the mod scene has always been able to keep the games going way past their usual expiration date.
I'd stop by a "Lowko plays Genetron/Xayid/Keiron" video. I already stop by those lovely 2v2 highlights where you take all the cash. XD
I'd love to see you do a "Beginner's guide" for this mod, and maybe cast some more high level stuff.
I really hope this mod catches on, so that we'll see these races be played with the same skill level as the main ones.
Awesome, more Scion casts! Interesting custom races like these really tickle the lobes, even if it is a LOT to be explaining in the middle of Hornet dives and Convergence splats X)

That ability you keep calling storm honestly reminds me more of Flamestrike from WC3. Instead of immediately doing a stream of sustained damage, it's delayed and then leads to a burst.

I would love seeing some post edits showing the names and descriptions of abilities and upgrades on the screen when they are first shown (like the Crux "storm").
Either that, or Lowko can have upgrades and abilities names and descriptions easily accessible (e.g. on the other monitor) so we can theory craft along with him.

You really should make a caster tournament where casters actually play the custom races against each other.
YAY more Scion mod! BTW, the Genetron gameplay reminds me a lot of Total Annihilation, an old-school RTS focused in energy management for combat and building speed. You could also recycle dead units for resources, it was awesome beyond beliief

With 3 races we have 3 non-mirror match ups. If we had 6 races there would be 15 match ups. Imagine the imba complaints 😂

These custom races (the 3-race balance mechanics)kind of make me imagine what SC3 or any other strategy game might have been able to become if strategy games saw more development and investment over the last 20 years. SC1 and 2 are the undisputed(?) kings of the genre, and for good reason. I really want stormgate to deliver as a kind of spiritual successor to SC2, but gamers shouldn’t have to place all their hopes and dreams on one company 🙃
This is a good example for StormGate. I see gameplay and have no idea what's happening. To enjoy it fully I would need to know what's going on. So a introduction video with some combat footage would help a lot in seeing what a specific unit does and what effect it in itself has on the fights. It is very interesting to see this mod and I would be up for more!
There are 3 videos going over the basics of each race on youtube. There's also a discord for scion races.
Lowko! "Umbra" means "shadow" in Latin. They are "shadows" because they stealth when not attacking.
As a colorblind, I must say that if there was no mini map I wouldn't know that one player is blue and one is purple lol; as of me writing this I am still not sure about this
I envision a world were this mod hits big and brings ppl back to SC2, at higher numbers then the original peak even. and we see a massive revival of the pro tournaments.

You know, at this point I think the community could make a Starcraft 3 by themselves. Organizing their own tournaments, creating their own maps, creating their own races... quite the community
