Love this man, I've been training Martial arts since I was 4. I really love this video, first one I've come across, I love how it is raw, gritty vulnerable, and real. Keep it up man. You're looking great out here. 💪💥‼️
@@JoeyGainzalez wicked, well this is my first one I've seen and I love it man. Keep going. I had to subscribe from just this one. Can't wait for your future ones coming up. 💪💥‼️
I really wanna train judo but I don’t know if it’s wise to repeatedly get body slammed at the age of 28. Quit weed and drinking about 2 weeks ago, joined a boxing gym this January and my lungs are completely shot after smoking daily since winter 2019. Planning to incorporate wrestling in the summer once my conditioning improves. I relate to this video a lot, keep grinding bro!
There is a 40 years old yellow belt (1 year training) on the dojo i go to and he is doing well, i'm 33 this year i think judo is safer than boxing once You learn how to break falls, but it's all depends on preference
@rubbaz Judo is by far my preference for grappling, my main concern was being injured from the constant falls. You’ve definitely changed my perspective, I’ll approach with an open mind and see where it takes me. I really appreciate your outlook, I’m open to any additional tips you can give me!
@@JoeyGainzalez Having no heater should help burn more calories. You will be able to train longer (less overheating) and spend more energy on staying warm. In general, cold environment = burning more calories. That said, if you do find that comfort/motivation would be better with a heater, then by all means it's worth trying!
I to train in my garage ever since Covid. Ya it’s cold in there but I got two Mr Buddy heaters going on as I’m bag training or lifting. After about 10min the garage gets heated up ok. But it makes me rest less between sets to avoid getting cold.
If you train long enough like you have, it really does become habitual. The worst is getting injured (like I am at the moment, lol) and having to limit your training (even down to nothing sometimes)... and then the slog to build yourself back up again. Have you been injured during your judo journey? Might make another good diary entry.
@@DoYouKnowYourJudoWell yeah good point Yes I have, multiple times. I focus on doing what body allows, not coping and letting the thought of being injured stop me completely

Have you ever considered working out with a space heater on? It'll scorch more calories and help with motivation for training in the cold.
@@jesselowe9374 yeah man totally
Interesting. I would think the body would expend more calories (energy) to keep the body warm.
@@SONSONPAUL yes that is true, in hot environment, you just sweat, you don’t necessarily burn more cals.
Yeah you don't burn calories by being hot. But it might make the warm up faster

Just show up anyway. Tell the senseis your situation, and they will recommend how to work around your injuries
