Due to how the current gallowdark maps are set up (big empty rooms) with only light cover available inside if you use equipment, seek light is incredibly powerful there, and pathfinder get that in spades.
As a player of Farstalkers, Blades, breachers, exaction, and Inq its good to know I remain consistent in my ability to select the worst KT's every edition. Why does everything I thematically love manage to find the ire of the game devs designing them?
I am reading that Kasrkin cam take upto 4 gunners. Out of 6 options but cannot take duplicate weapons. So, take Melta, Plasma, Hot Shot Volley and Grenade Launcher. Leaving the Flamer and Sniper unless needed.
If you shoot a rubric with a melta and get 3 hits and a crit, with their ploys they can degrade P1, 2+ save, use fate to get rid of your crit, and JAS the other hit to only take 1 damage…. Insane durability. Do you think inquisition needs more than a limit on piercing weapons?
I think the problem was not changing the spelling of "Blades of Khaine" to "SPACEMARINE". That would have likely gotten the devs to balance them better.
I like the argument that the barricade starts moving before an operative starts moving. Rules of fly say that instead of moving, the operative is removed from the killzone. So the operative is not moving, therefore the barricade stays where is was

Surprised to see Cult ranked so highly since they've received nothing but nerfs going into the new edition, but I hope you guys are right! I think the nerfed durability, max 1 torment per turn from TP2 onwards and all their melee operatives hitting on 4+ is just a bit too rough but I'm hopeful
There is no way the team is any good. They were ok when you could have 6+ torments per game. Now you have only 3? Leader cannot mutate anymore and torments lost renthless for ceasless, wich is not that great on guy that hits on 4 and is your main source of dmg. Also dmg reduction is much worse 33 percent chance to reduce dmg by one on 4dmg atack instead of 33 percent chance to reduce any dmg. I dont think these guys looked enough into them. Some of the other teams got insane changes. Cults got even more nerfs.
@@MocnySquall Yeah my thoughts exactly. Also 3 of their 4 equipment choices are one use per game. Even Vet Guard and Blooded can equip all their basic troops to have better weapons, leaving Chaos Cults, a melee focused faction, with worse melee for their devotees. I just really don't see an upside to them.
@@retnuHDJ Also good to notice that everyone can now take granades. 2 frags and 2 stuns will give this team nightmares. If someone stuns your torment, what do you do?
Can you expand your take on Chaos Cult at all? I haven't tried them yet but want to, but I was really discouraged with how multiple other commentators (like CYRAC, most notably) were super down on them and said they were one of the worst teams in the new edition. You guys seemed much happier with them - why do you think there's such a large divide in opinions?
@@ShockinglyLiterate i think they have been nerfed from last edition. The hulks have gotten worse too. But it is more of the way the game is played now, and how you score. The team also benifits from the terrain styles currently as well. Cults love heavy terrain. They dont have tons of shooting and want to move up the board safe in order to dominate the mid board. The team can still be overly oppressive into alot of match ups. Im not saying the team is S tier or that it can beat eliets on the regular but i think the team benifits from the edition change in multiple ways. So while they got weaker in stat blocks i think they are competitively ballanced. I think the team is pretty good esp if you just ping certain teams with -1apl. The torments are overall worse. But they used to be giga chads in the last edition. The dark commune is still fantasitic. I 100% dont think that they are one of the worst teams in the edition.
@@ShockinglyLiterate in the end. Itd and vertigus Terrain help massively, plus the new scoring benifits the team alot, also the lack of alpha strikes in the game helps them tons too. They have tons of bodies and i think the team has tons of potential

I'll note that you can't fly with the portable barricade. Fly and reposition are different rules, and the barricade carry is a form of reposition

I agree - this team is crap right now. A big nerf that the leader can’t mutate cultists anymore and the big mutant has to few wounds.
