As a Walmart associate and a subscriber I would like to let you know that when you are grabbing cold stuff that you have 45 minutes before the cold stuff is no longer safe for consumption. That is why your carts are sometimes put back.

It might sound odd because I only have 3 kids myself but seeing you do all the mundane things like shop, meal plan and prep makes me feel better. I work so I'm up early every day with my toddler, meal prepping, meal planning, working, shopping. All these little things. But seeing you do it on a massive scale makes me stop and think, no - all those little things are actually really important to my children and are valuable in their lives. So thank you and sorry for rambling 🤣

I read recently that assuring your child that you will be checking on them at night, and saying so in the morning too (“I checked in on you last night while you were sleeping to make sure you were okay/nice and safe.”) can help assure the child and make them feel safe enough to sleep if they are fearful at night. Maybe that can help you with Harley.

@@DoughertyDozen don't give her the option, tell her she's sleeping on couch. Also, if she doesn't want couch then she probably won't go for her own bed in your room either because you let her in your bed. If you don't want her stuck in there until she's 10 or 12 then you should nip it in the butt NOW. The more you allow her in bed the more she will want in your bed. This is coming from someone who couldn't sleep in my own room until I was about SIXTEEN years old as my mom never made me get over my fear and sleep in my own room. I still deal with hating sleeping alone to this day because I was just allowed to sleep in my mom's bed and not given the tools and never made to sleep in my own room with my sister when I was a child and developing.

My sister is on the spectrum, a high functioning autistic. She doesn't eat veggies except for potatoes (fries) and basil (pesto). The sight and smell of vegetables make her gag. It's like being pregnant with food aversions. Meat needs to be super well done (to the point of being charred) and should be on placed the upper part of the plate. She has more quirks but it would be too lengthy to write them all down. She's just the way she is and we're all used to it.

My goal would be first to make sure everything is okay, and if so, work to enable her independence, I’d bring my child back into her own room, have a safe routine, read stories, give her one on one attention (which may be why she ends up in their room) etc. Bringing her back into their room with a bed for a toddler (baby) is just reinforcing the false belief that Harley has about herself not being safe in her own room, it seems a bit counter productive to me, but each to their own

Overnight oats are so good. You won't regret it. It could be an issue because you have to prep it the day before. I do mine when I finish my breakfast on say Tues that's when I would set up the overnight oats for Wed. .y ingredients are 1/2 cup quick oats and 1/2 cup milk of choice and 1/2 cup yogurt also 1/2cup fruit fresh or frozen. If you use frozen it will of course thaw in time to eat. I shake it up real good and once more later in the day. You can add sugar, syrup, or honey, or sweetener if you want. Easy please. If you ever need sofrito for a recipe again in the future, try seeing if they have it in the freezer section first. It's Goya brand too and it's a blue bowl, can usually be found in the same area as you'll find the other Goya frozen products. The ingredients are fresher and is tastes waaaay better then the jarred variety. Just store it in the fridge after buying so it'll thaw when you need it, takes about a day or so, or you can leave it on the counter to defrost quickly if you need it for that night.

the Walmart item limit is such a pain-- was a cashier-- hated it-- but it is what it is. Your optimism is so infectious- after hauling two overflowing baskets up to the front your comment of- I just have to get frozen and I'm done - made me grin cause it always helps to focus on the next thing- and its just this little section of stuff- instead of being overwhelmed by how much you still have ahead. Be blessed- may the house of your dreams open up and fall into your path so that you can set aside big projects and enjoy the little ones that make a house home.
