Hellboy: yeah, yeah I know how fairytales end.
Witch: no, no you not.
Hellboy's familiar with American folklore, not northern European.
The story referenced here was a Norwegian folktale known as "Tatterhood" and was collected by Peter Christen Asbjørnsen and Jørgen Moe Norwegian contemporaries of the Brothers Grimm whose collections also included stories such as "Three Billy Goats Gruff", "King Grizzlebeard", "The Heartless Giant", and "The City Mouse and The Country Mouse".

But they never will unfortunately. The closes we have to the animated "series" are the two animated Hellboy movies, The Sword of Storms and Blood and Iron.
Get Bruce Timm Paul Dini and Mignola to collaborate and itd be fucking great.

Studios are still under the impression that animation is simply kiddie stuff, and feel they would have all the parental groups on their asses if they ever attempted to defy that stigma

TBH, there's spin-off potential for the troll sister. Call me crazy, but a badass trollhunting troll lady with the world's most powerful spoon and a goat as her steed sounds like good times to me.

And yet tragic that I felt bad for her.
This needs to be sent to Mike Mignola. If you’re lucky, you can start a partnership. You could probably make a show out of this. You could have a full cast for your animations, beautiful work.

Yeah mike mignola needs to see that and whoever made this short film should teamup with mike and yes I would love to see Hellboy the troll witch be as an animated movie by Guillermo del Toro with the 3 original cast including Ron Pearlman as the title character.

This is a surprisingly faithful adaptation of the short comic.

OMG, i am a huge Hellboy fan this animation is very well done and sensational, i mean the voice acting and the art style is just absolutely marvelous and spectacular make no mistake about it.

How does this not have a million views???!! This is amazing. The artwork is so well done. For some reason it reminds me of the opening scene of The Golden Army when Broom’s telling HB that bedtime story.
I really like the video, the Troll Witch is one of my fav Hellboy stories, so seeing it in motion was a great treat.
The voice acting is great, love the witch voice but also how Hellboy sounds when he said the "and then she married some prince or something" because it really fits my personal headcanon/interpretation.

This is great. I always wished they turned the Hellboy stories into an animated series like this. It's a shame the amazing screw on head never got picked up either.

Wow didn't know what to expect but It definitely wasn't this I felt quite uneasy about the ending but this was so good I can't not appriciate your work
An animated Hellboy sounds so obvious that I'd assume it already existed. The comic art style is so unique, its literally like 90% of what makes the comic so iconic, and you can enhance that iconic look by adding motion and sound to it! After Spider-Verse, you'd think that more comic book adaptations in animation would follow but what else can you expect from the worst timeline?

this Animated Hellboy Short deserves a Live-Action Film Adaptation with Ron Pearlman as HellBoy, Doug Jones as Abe Sapien, Selma Blair as Liz Sherman, with Marco Beltrami as Music Composer, with James Wan and Tim Burton as Producers, and Guillermo del Toro as Director
The starting part of her story is a bit similar to the Lindworm prince story but yet when it went on it really has a twist

I only wish they put in the theme song from the films. But damn is this well made. I love the surreal animation, I love the voice acting, and the story is just as visceral as the comics.

This is really well done! I recently read through the entire Hellboy/BPRD series to get caught up to the current storyline, but this story always stayed with me. That final line felt so powerful when I first read it.
